Abstract

Abstract: Education aims to prepare students to become independent generations who are able to face the challenges of the times by having 21st century life skills, one of which is critical thinking, in fact contrary to the low critical thinking skills that occur in SMAN 2 Probolinggo. The purpose of this study was to describe the application of guided inquiry learning in improving critical thinking skills. This type of research is Class Action Research (CAR). Data is analyzed by triangulation through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Research Results guided inquiry learning model can change the way students learn to practice high-level thinking through learning syntax so that it gives the impact of increasing critical thinking skills by 18.75% students of class XI IPA 1 Probolinggo 2 High School.Abstrak: Pendidikan bertujuan menyiapkan siswa menjadi generasi mandiri yang mampu menghadapi tantangan zaman dengan memiliki keterampilan hidup abad 21 salah satunya berpikir kritis, faktanya bertolak belakang dengan rendahnya keterampilan berpikir kritis yang terjadi di SMAN 2 Probolinggo. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan penerapan pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Data dianalisis secara triangulasi melalui  proses reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil Penelitian model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dapat mengubah cara belajar siswa untuk berlatih berpikir tingkat tinggi melalui sintaks pembelajaran sehingga memberikan dampak meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis sebesar 18,75% siswa kelas XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 2 Probolinggo.

Abstract

Education has done for foster and develop the potential of learners. An adequate learning resources as a means to produce a good potentiality. Students who take course of Ethnobotany said there is no information resources yet about Ethnobotany. Development of teaching materials expected to be the solution. The type of research is development research. Based on Ethnobotanical studies 65 species from 34 families has found that used for medicines, toxins, beauty, ceremonies, food and shelter. The study was developed into an ethnobotanical textbook which have been validated and feasible to implement.Pendidikan dilakukan untuk menumbuhkan dan mengembangkan potensi peserta didik. Sumber belajar yang memadai menjadi media dalam menghasilkan sumber daya manusia yang berpotensi. Mahasiswa Etnobotani menyatakan belum ada informasi berupa buku atau artikel Etnobotani. Pengembangan bahan ajar diharapkan menjadi solusi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah pengembangan. Ditemukan 65 spesies dari 34 suku yang digunakan oleh masyarakat desa Trunyan untuk menunjang kehidupan untuk obat, racun, kecantikan, keagamaan, pangan dan papan. Proses pemanfaatan dilakukan secara tradisional. Hasil studi dikembangkan menjadi buku ajar Etnobotani yang telah divalidasi dan layak untuk diimplementasikan.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to study the needs of teaching material in Ethnobotany for students of biology department S1 UIN Maliki Malang. This research is qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques used is by distributing questionnaires. The results, 79% of students know about the concept of ethnobotany and no student knows about Talang Mamak. 59% of students stated in the learning process dominated by using PowerPoint compared with other teaching materials and 100% of students agreed if the supplement book is developed. Therefore, it was concluded that necessary to develop teaching materials in the form of supplement books for Ethnobotanical courses.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kebutuhan bahan ajar pada matakuliah Etnobotani bagi mahasiswa S1 Jurusan Biologi UIN Maliki Malang. Penelitian ini berjenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara penyebaran angket. Hasil angket menyatakan bahwa 79% mahasiswa mengetahui tentang konsep etnobotani dan tidak ada satupun mahasiswa mengetahui tentang masyarakat adat Talang Mamak. 59% mahasiswa menyatakan dalam proses pembelajaran didominasi menggunakan powerpoint dibanding dengan bahan ajar lainya dan 100% mahasiswa setuju jika dikembangkan buku suplemen. Maka dari itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlu mengembangkan bahan ajar berupa buku suplemen untuk matakuliah Etnobotani.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was aimed to describe (1) the learning process in the subject of High Plant Taxonomy; (2) science process skills and metacognitive skills of students; (3) the needs of lecturers and students in learning. This type of research is descriptive quantitative-qualitative. Research samples were subject lecturers and 35 students of biological education. Data collection techniques used are tests and surveys. Data collection instruments are test sheets and requirement analysis questionnaire sheets. The results showed that (1) students had difficulty understanding the taxonomic material of plants; (2) student science process skills in Plant Taxonomy courses, namely observing (sometimes), measuring sometimes), managing data (sometimes), deviating (often), planning experiments (sometimes) and conducting experiments (sometimes -sometimes); (3) metacognitive planning skills (76, sufficient), monitoring (76, sufficient), evaluating (69, enough), revising (82, good); 4) Lecturers and students need teaching materials in the form of modules from the results of local potential to achieve the expected competencies.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) proses pembelajaran pada matakuliah Taksonomi Tumbuhan Tinggi; (2) keterampilan proses sains dan ketarampilan metakognitif mahasiswa; (3) kebutuhan dosen dan mahasiswa pada pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif-kualitatif. Sampel penelitian yaitu dosen pengampu matakuliah dan 25 mahasiswa pendidikan Biologi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes dan survei. Instrumen pengumpulan data yaitu lembar test dan lembar angket analisis kebutuhan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan memahami materi taksonomi tumbuhan; (2) keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa pada matakuliah Taksonomi Tumbuhan yaitu mengamati (kadang-kadang), mengukur kadang-kadang), mengelola data (kadang-kadang), menyimpukan (sering), merencanakan percobaan (kadang-kadang) dan melaksanakan percobaan (kadang-kadang); (3) keterampilan metakognitif planing (76, cukup), monitoring (76, cukup), evaluating (69, cukup), revising (82, baik); (4) dosen dan mahasiswa membutuhkan bahan ajar berupa modul dari hasil potensi lokal untuk tercapainya kompetensi yang diharapkan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a virtual laboratory based inquiry instructional module. This module was built following the systematic instructional design process including the steps of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE). The feasibility of the instructional module as a product of the development process refers to expert appraisal and student response as a testing subject. The result of the research showed that virtual laboratory based inquiry instructional module was meet the feasibility standard of instructional material consist of validity, practically, and effectiveness.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul pembelajaran biologi berbasis pendekatan pembelajaran inkuiri yang dilengkapi dengan media simulasi interaktif berupa laboratorium virtual. Modul dikembangkan mengacu pada model penelitian dan pengembangan ADDIE yang meliputi lima tahapan, yaitu analysis, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation. Kelayakan modul hasil pengembangan mengacu pada hasil penilaian ahli, praktisi lapangan, dan respon siswa sebagai subjek uji coba. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan modul yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi standar aspek kelayakan yang meliputi validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan bahan ajar.

Abstract

A taxonomic study of the fructicose lichens in the forest of Tahura (Taman Hutan Raya) R. Soeryo had been conducted based on morphological, anatomical and chemical characters. In this research involved a method of descriptive explorative and the aim of this research is to identify and determine of fructicose lichens in the forest of Tahura R. Soeryo. Eleven species of fructicose lichen are reported for the firt time from the forest of Tahura R. Soeryo. They are Evernia prunastri, Ramalina calicaris, Teloschistes flavicans U. glabrescens, , U. subfloridana, U. Ceratina, U. floridana,U. hirta and three species were found as new records in Java are Usnea esperantiana, U. flammea, and U. strigosa . Taxonomic descriptions and figures are presented in the articel.

Abstract

Science literacy is a human's ability to understand science and use that understanding to be applied in solving a problem in everyday life. Students' science literacy skills are low due to the student's response in answering a question to explain the phenomenon has not fulfilled the aspects of science literacy. This research aims to develop an interactive multimedia Mobile Learning that is valid, practical, and effective in making students practice their science literacy skills. Interactive multimedia research and development of the Mobile Learning model uses a Research and Development model that adapts the development model of William W. Lee and Diana L. Owens. The stages of development in the model of Lee and Owens are (1) Assessment/Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. The results of this research and development obtained 97.8 percent validation value of media experts, obtained a validation value of 100 percent by topic experts, also earned an average of 94 percent value in the validation of expert assessment. So that based on the data results of this development research was very valid category the field-test results of research and development conducted with the researchers as a teacher for two meetings produced a practical test value by students of 84.42 percent, a very practicable category. The practicality test results (field practitioner) obtained a value of 100 percent, which was a very practical category. The value of effectiveness test in this study obtained an N-gain value of 16.74, which belonged to the low category (low effective).

Abstract

In this globalization era, information is very easy to obtain, therefore critical thinking skills are important for students to have because they can train students to filter the information obtained to solve a problem. The purpose of this research is to produce a product in the form of UKBM based on ePUB on digestive system topic to improve critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students who have been tested for validity, practicality and effectiveness. The development model used in this study is the ADDIE development model. The study was conducted at SMA Negeri 5 Malang with the research sample being students of class XI. Research data in the form of the results of the validation of media experts, topic experts, assessment experts, field practitioners, student responses, pretest and posttest results of students. The results showed that the average percentage of validated ratings of media experts, topic experts, assessment experts, field practitioners were 96.74 percent, 100 percent, 100 percent, and 94.23 percent, all of which were in the very valid category. The practicality test value is 92.53 percent which means it is very practical, the value of the effectiveness test is 0.8 which means it is classified as very effective, the results of students critical thinking skills are 82.16 which means it is classified as very critical, and the cognitive learning outcomes of students 93.42 which means it is classified as high. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the development of UKBM based on ePUB can improve critical thinking skills and students cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

Nowadays, in the newest era of biology science,biology has progressed and developed. One of the developments marked by the need for Biological Sciences in the field of bioengineering.Thus, it is importance for under graduates have a competence in technical analysis of molecular biology. One course that teaches techniques related to Molecular Biologyis Technical Analysis of Molecular Biology.Based on the results of the needs analysis survey conducted teaching in Technical Analysis Course Molecular Biology course. there are nobooks, handouts, modules, and media interactive video that used in Technical Analysis Course Molecular Biology class. More students use journals and other supporting materials associated to the course. Based on these results, it is necessary to the development the interactive video, in which mainly discusses about the principles and basic techniques in molecular biology analysis, to facilitate students to understand and practice the basic principles of Technical Analysis in Molecular Biology.Interactivemedia has developed based on the research results of analysis of genetic variation buffalo(Bubalusbubalis) at Bima. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the community’ skills of making batik jumputan through training of 21 PKK mothers at Sumbergempol District, Tulungagung Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Participants involved in this study were selected randomly (random sampling technique). Data collection techniques in the form of skills test making batik jumputan (paper based-test) conducted before and after training. Data analysis was performed using the calculation and categorization of N-Gain. The results showed that the training in making batik jumputan could improve the skills of PKK mothers at Sumbergempol District, Tulungagung Regency in the moderate (62%) and high (38%) categories.
