Abstract

Sebaliknya, semakin rendah regulasi diri maka semakin tinggi FoMO.

Abstract

Abstract

In carrying out their tasks in the learning process, students face various challenges, obstacles and difficulties. The ability to cope with challenges, obstacles and difficulties in the academic world is called academic resilience. One of the assets that can be used to optimize academic resilience is tawakal to Allah. This study aims to find out the relationship between tawakal and academic resilience among muslim students in Yogyakarta. This study uses a correlational quantitative method. There were 101 Muslim students from various universities in Yogyakarta who were the subjects of this research, with 21 male subjects and 80 female subjects, with an average age of 20 years old. The data collection technique used in this research is a non-probability sampling technique, by obtaining samples through a purposive sampling technique. The data collection method uses a questionnaire in the form of a Google form. The measuring instruments used are the Tawakal to Allah Scale from Sartika and Kurniawan and the Academic Resilience Scale from Hardiansyah et al. The results of this research show that students who are surrender to god tend to have high academic resilience.

Abstract

At the end of the 20th century, a new scientific movement emerged in psychology called Islamic Psychology. Islamic psychology emphasizes the view of fitrah (sacred nature) in science. This science began when a book entitled "The Dilemma of Muslim Psychologists" was published, inspired, and awakened Muslim scientists in the world to return to the truth of Islam in psychology. The book was written by Malik Badri, who is known as the Father of Islamic Psychology. Seeing how big the role of Malik Badri in Islamizing psychology is, the researcher wanted to get a clear description of Malik Badri's biography, including the style of thought and the work produced. To get a biographical article, the researcher reviewed the literature/documents about Malik Badri like books, journals, news, and others about Malik Badri’s biography, creation, thought, etc with the design of a narratively qualitative approach. The data collected were analyzed by restorying stories. The result showed that there were so many contributions of Malik Badri for his discipline and also in the world society.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the thoughts, attitudes, and actions of Islamic religious authorities (ulama, kyai, or ustad) concerning the COVID-19 epidemic. This investigation was prompted by the fact of the enormous number of kyai or ulama who were exposed to COVID-19. The research technique ised mixed methods, essentially mixing qualitative and quantitative methodologies. The participants involved in the first (qualitative) stage were 14 persons, 13 males and 1 woman. They are Islamic religious figures who live in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The second step was conducted by utilizing a questionnaire (Google form) and succeeded to gather 85 participants. The findings indicated that although all the participants were Ahlussunah Wal Jamaah (NU and Muhammadiyah), the discrepancies in their ideas, attitudes, and conduct regarding the COVID-19 epidemic were obvious. On average, Muhammadiyah is more inclined or tends to think towards complete endeavour, or its method of thinking tends to be Jabariyah, whereas NU is more likely to think towards entire submission or Qodariah, however certain situations are the contrary. This data demonstrates that in the face of a novel phenomena involving an unknown virus such as COVID-19, Indonesian Muslims, particularly Islamic religious leaders, cling to what they believe, not changing the norm.

Abstract

Being separated from their parents causes many migrated students to experience loneliness, not to mention that their age range is prone to it. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of psychological well-being and religiosity on loneliness and isolation in migrated students using ex post facto quantitative research methods. Respondents to this study were active 213  migrated students in several universities in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Their ages ranged from 18 to 24. The measuring instruments used were UCLA Loneliness Version 3 (α 0.942), the Psychological Well-being Scale (α 0.776), and the Centrality of Religiosity Scale (α) 0.876). The data analysis technique used was multiple regression. The results indicated a significant negative effect of psychological well-being on loneliness and no significant negative impact of religiosity on loneliness in migrated students. Psychological well-being and religiosity contributed 58.2% to influencing the loneliness variable. The study concluded that psychological well-being made migrated students experience less loneliness when they were far away from their hometowns.

Abstract

Families (caregivers) of patients with chronic illness should ideally have high subjective well-being to care for chronic illness patients well. In reality, they cry frequently, look pensive, and have difficulty carrying out daily activities. This quasi-experimental study aims to examine the effect of forgiveness therapy on increasing the subjective well-being of families (caregivers) of patients with chronic illness. There were 11 participants (3 males and 9 females) divided into two groups, i.e., the treatment group consisting of 6 persons (1 male and 5 females) and the control group consisting of 5 persons (2 males and 3 females) who have looked after the patients with chronic illness for 2–8 years. The subjective well-being was measured by the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) and the Positive Affect Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS). The data were then analyzed using Mann-Whitney to compare means. The results showed differences in subjective well-being between the treatment and control groups. The results showed that forgiveness therapy has effectively improved subjective well-being in families or patients with chronic illness. Based on the results, the researcher suggested that forgiveness therapy can be used to provide psychological interventions to families of patients with chronic illnesses. Families still need support to optimize and stabilize the patient’s health condition

Abstract

Final semester students must complete their education on time with a variety of academic assignments. Apart from that, the personal problems they experience are also increasingly complex, making final-semester students vulnerable to depression. This research aims to determine the relationship between self-compassion and stress mediated by emotional regulation in students who complete their final assignments. The design used in this research was quantitative, with three variables. Data were collected using the Self-Compassion Scale with a Cronbach Alpha reliability of 0.872, the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) with a Cronbach Alpha reliability of 0.790, and the stress subscale of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-42) with a Cronbach Alpha reliability of 0.951. The subjects of this research were final-year students who were pursuing higher education in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Data analysis used a mediation analysis model by testing the relationship between stress (dependent variable) and self-compassion (independent variable) and emotional regulation, cognitive reappraisal facets, and expressive suppression facets (mediator variables) using mediation analysis techniques via JASP. The results showed that the cognitive reappraisal facet of emotional regulation mediated the relationship between self-compassion and stress in students. The emotional regulation facet of expressive suppression did not mediate the relationship between self-compassion and stress in students. In addition, there was a direct negative relationship between self-compassion and stress. Students who complete their final assignment must make efforts to increase self-compassion in order to survive stressful situations.
