Abstract

The airport  business is a growing and promising business. The increase in the number of trips will automatically have an impact on airport revenues. Currently, airport revenue is still dominated by revenue from the aeronautical sector, while the potential for non-aeronautical revenue is also quite promising. The retail business at the airport is one of non-aeronautical businesses that has big opportunities with potential to be a significant alternative income for the  airport. This study was addressed to examine the effect of store layout and price perception on retail purchasing decisions at the airport mediated by consumer satisfaction. It  uses a quantitative method, with 100 respondents, where they fill out online questionnaires. The analytical technique used is SEM-PLS. The results showed that the store layout and price perception have a positive and significant influence on purchasing decisions and on consumer satisfaction at the same time, whilst consumer satisfaction also has a positive and significant influence on purchasing decisions. Store layout and price perception have an indirect influence on purchasing decisions through consumer satisfaction. Based on these results, airport managers are expected to pay more attention to marketing strategies that focus on creating attractive store layouts and competitive prices, so that consumers feel satisfied and decide to make a purchase.Keyword: consumer satisfaction, buying decision, price perception, airport retail, store layout

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the relationship between ship chandler service quality (specifically responsiveness, reliability, and product quality) and crew satisfaction, with crew health as a mediating variable. The research highlights the critical role of ship chandler services in supporting crew well-being, especially when access to essential supplies was restricted. Research Methodology: This quantitative study surveyed 150 crew members from 52 PIS-owned vessels using PMSol services, selected through purposive sampling, and analyzed the data using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Results: The findings reveal that crew satisfaction is significantly influenced by responsiveness, reliability, and product quality. Moreover, crew health acts as a mediating variable, strengthening the impact of service and product quality on satisfaction. High-quality, reliable, and responsive services (both directly and indirectly) enhance crew happiness and well-being. Conclusions: Ship chandler services that are responsive, reliable, and provide high-quality products not only meet logistical needs but also enhance crew well-being and satisfaction. Recognizing crew health as a key factor can help maritime service providers design more human-centered support systems, especially during challenging times like a pandemic. Limitations: The study focuses solely on crew members aboard PIS-owned vessels using PMSol services, which may limit the generalizability of the findings to other companies or contexts. Contribution: Study highlights crew health as key mediator, linking service quality to satisfaction in maritime services.

Abstract

The logistics and transportation sector plays a critical role in global and national supply chains but is also characterized by high energy consumption and environmental emissions. Despite the increasing adoption of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, empirical evidence on their financial implications in Indonesian logistics companies remains limited. This study examines the impact of ESG performance on corporate financial performance, measured by Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE), with capital structure (Debt-to-Equity Ratio) as a control variable. Using panel data from 44 listed logistics companies in Indonesia over the period 2019–2023, this research employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and multigroup analysis to compare national and multinational firms. The results indicate that environmental performance has a positive and significant effect on ROA, while social performance positively influences ROE. Conversely, governance performance shows a negative association with ROE, suggesting potential compliance and administrative cost trade-offs. The capital structure variable does not significantly affect financial performance. Furthermore, the ESG–financial performance relationship is stronger among multinational companies compared to national firms. These findings contribute to the sustainability accounting and corporate governance literature by demonstrating that selective ESG integration creates financial value in the logistics sector, particularly through environmental and social initiatives, while governance mechanisms should be implemented efficiently to avoid reducing operational and financial flexibility. The study provides implications for regulators, corporate managers, and investors in strengthening ESG-based financial and reporting strategies in emerging markets. Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of supply chain strategy on the performance of manufacturing companies, incorporating competitive advantage and market orientation as mediating variables. In the increasingly competitive global market, manufacturing companies face significant challenges in maintaining and improving their performance. One of the key factors influencing a company's success is an effective supply chain strategy. However, the interaction among supply chain strategy and other factors such as competitive advantage and market orientation in enhancing company performance remains underexplored. The research was conducted in the Province of DKI Jakarta, where data was collected from 323 employees of manufacturing companies through a questionnaire with 33 Likert-scale indicators (1-5). The data was analyzed using PLS-SEM software to test eight hypotheses. The results indicate that supply chain strategy has a positive and significant impact on company performance. Competitive advantage and market orientation are proven to be strong mediators, reinforcing the impact of supply chain strategy on company performance. These findings suggest that an effective supply chain strategy not only enhances operational efficiency but also strengthens the company's competitive position and responsiveness to the market. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of manufacturing company management focusing not only on supply chain efficiency but also on the development of market orientation and competitive advantage. This can provide strategic guidance for companies in enhancing their competitiveness and performance in an increasingly competitive market.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of parking inventory and parking utilization on terminal services and facility improvements at Muara Angke Port, North Jakarta. The background of this research is based on the current condition where the terminal is not yet located within the port area, requiring users to walk more than one kilometer and/or use other modes of transportation to reach the terminal. This research adopts a quantitative approach using survey methods through the distribution of questionnaires to respondents consisting of three main groups: regulators (port authorities), operators (terminal and parking managers), and consumers (passengers). The study involved a sample of 240 respondents, in accordance with the recommended number of indicators in statistical analysis as proposed by Hair et al. (2014). Primary data were collected through questionnaires, while secondary data were obtained from literature, scientific journals, and relevant regulations. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the assistance of Smart PLS software. The model employed includes the outer model to test validity and reliability, and the inner model to test causal relationships among variables. The findings indicate that both parking inventory and parking utilization have a positive and significant influence on terminal services and facility improvements. These findings suggest that optimizing the parking function can serve as a basis for planning the integration of the terminal into the port area to enhance user comfort and service efficiency.
