Abstract

AbstrakStudi tentang perbaikan pembelajaran dilakukan dengan mengubah strategi pengajaran dan lingkungan belajar, sekaligus melatih keterampilan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa. Penelitian kali ini difokuskan pada proses merancang proyek untuk menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa pada konsep fermentasi. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu perguruan tinggi di Lombok pada mahasiswa pendidikan biologi semester V dengan jumlah mahasiswa sebanyak 28 orang. Data dijaring dengan mengisi format lembar kegiatan merancang mahasiswa (LKMM) dengan mengisi komponen-komponen rancangan yang ada di dalam soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan berpikir kreatif dalam menjawab soa-soal yang diberikan dengan Gain sebesar 0,33. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa di kategorikan ke dalam tiga kategori yaitu rendah 35,7%sedang 57,2%, dan tinggi 7,1%. Kata kunci: berpikir kreatif, pembelajaran berbasis proyek, fermentasi

Abstract

A serius effort to reach students aspects of content, syntactically and substantively, will not be achieved without being accompanied by the knowledge of teaching strategies adopted appropriate by the teachers. Teachers should understand and be able to integrate content knowledge into knowledge about the curriculum, learning, and especially students. Such knowledge is expressed as Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK). To identify and assess developments of their PCK, a teacher needs a rich conceptual understanding as well as integrate with expertise in using teaching procedures, strategies and approaches, to be implemented in the classroom. PCK is considered as a strategic answer for transforming of content/subject matter into a form of presentation in the classroom. Because of PCK is one of the main components in teaching, to produce qualified teachers, equip ability PCK becomes a crucial thing to be done by the teacher-producing institutions. This is due to the PCK is important in improving teaching and learning process which aims to provide [a] better understanding of students. PCK is as important as knowledge about subject matter which is used as the subject of any learning process. Without PCK, the process of transformation of a subject matter in the effort to construct students' knowledge, will not take place very well.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian tentang penggunaan model visuospatial (VS) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif pada mahasiswa calon guru biologi pada mata kuliah Anatomi Tumbuhan telah dilakukan secara diskriptif. Model-VS adalah model pembelajaran yang melibatkan kemampuan tiga dimensi (3D). Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui efektifitas model-VS dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif mahasiswa melalui matakuliah anatomi tumbuhan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada mahasiswa semester empat, tahun 2011 di Universitas Siliwangi di Tasikmalaya, Jawa Barat. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 108 orang yang dibagi dalam tiga kelompok, masing-masing dengan tipe Model-VS berbeda, yaitu Induktif Play doh (IP), Induktif-Gambar (IG) dan Deduktif-Gambar (DG). Pengukuran kemampuan kognitif C1, C2 dan C3 dilakukan secara tertulis dengan menggunakan 32 item soal, sedangkan kemampuan menganalisis (C4) dan kemampuan berkreasi diukur dengan menggunakan item test berupa gambar 2D dan 3D secara terpisah. Kemampuan mengevaluasi (C5) diukur melalui pengamatan pada saat presentasi mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Model-VS dapat mengembangkan kemampuan kognitif mahasiswa. Model-VS dengan perlakuan Induktif-Gambar (IG) dapat mengembangkan pemahaman (C2) mahasiswa pada materi jaringan tumbuhan, sedangkan perlakuan Deduktif-Gambar (DG) mampu mengembangkan kemampuan mengaplikasinya (C3). Ketiga tipe Model-VS tidak dapat mengembangkan kemampuan analisis (C4) dengan baik melalui pengamatan mikroskopis. Akan tetapi, dalam Induktif-Play doh kemampuan mengingat (C1), mengevaluasi (C5) dan kreasi (C6) gambar 3D berkembang sangat baik.ABSTRACTThe study on the implementation of visuospatial teaching models (VS-Model) for the enhancement of cognitive ability of prospective teacher on plant anatomy concept has been done descriptively. VSmodel is a model of learning to involve the ability of three-dimensional (3D). The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of VS-Model on improving cognitive ability of prospective biology teacher on plant anatomy concept. Participants of the study were 108 fourth semester biology education students attending Plant Anatomy Course in academic year of 2011 of Siliwangi University of Tasikmalaya, West Java. All participants were divided into three different class. Each class implemented three different type of VS-Model, e.g. Inductive Play doh (IP), Inductive Images (IG), and Deductive Images (DG). Cognitive abilities of C1, C2 and C3 were measured by a written test consisted of 32 item tests and the analyzing ability (C4) and creating ability (C6) were measured using 2D images and 3D images item tests respectively. To measure the evaluating ability (C5) of student it was conducted using observation method through student presentation. The results showed that the VS-Model can improve the cognitive abilities of students. VS-Model with Inductive-Images (IG) could improve student understanding (C2) on plant anatomy, whereas Deductive-Images (DG) was able to develop student ability to apply (C3) the concept of plant anatomy in a new learning object. All the three types of VS-Models could not well develop the analyzing (C4) ability of student through microscopic observation. In Inductive-Play doh (IP), however the ability of student to remember (C1), to evaluate (C5) and to create (C6) 3D images was very well developed.

Abstract

ABSTRAKStudi tentang Pemberdayaan Asisten Praktikum Morfologi Tumbuhan dilakukan untuk mengungkap kemampuan mahasiswa asisten praktikum Morfologi Tumbuhan mulai dari tingkat seleksi, pembekalan untuk melaksanakan Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) pada praktikum, pelaksanaan praktikum, evaluasi hasil praktikum, serta capaian hasil belajar praktikan, ditinjau dari Taksonomi Baru Marzano. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain mixed methods yang melibatkan data kualitatif tentang kemampuan dua mahasiswa asisten praktikum dan data kuantitatif tentang capaian hasil belajar 41 mahasiswa praktikan. Data penguasaan materi praktikum dan keterampilan lab oleh asisten dijaring secara berkala menggunakan instrumen seleksi asisten. Kinerja asisten diobservasi menggunakan lembar observasi, sedangkan kemampuan asisten dalam menilai laporan praktikum menggunakan rubrik penilaian laporan, dan ketepatan soal praktikum bertakson Marzano yang disusun asisten dikonfirmasi berdasarkan karakter masing-masing level pemrosesan taksonomi baru Marzano. Capaian hasil belajar praktikan dijaring melalui pretes-postes, penilaian Lembar Kegiatan Mahasiswa (LKM), laporan praktikum serta skor pra UAS dan UAS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hampir semua kemampuan asisten praktikum Morfologi Tumbuhan pada setiap level pemrosesan sudah berkembang dengan sangat baik. Rata-rata kemampuan praktikan pada sistem kognitif, sistem metakognitif dan sistem diri juga berkembang dengan baik. Secara keseluruhan program PAsPAL ditanggapi sangat positif oleh asisten praktikum dan hampir semua praktikan. ABSTRACTStudy of Plant Morphology practicum’s assistant empowerment was conducted to find out the ability of Plant Morphology practicum’s assistants since selection phase, preparation/training phase for peer assisted learning (PAL) implementation, practicum activity and practicum evaluation, and the gain of practicant’s achievement, according to Marzano’s New Taxonomy. This study used mixed methods design that included qualitative data about the practicum assistants’ competencies and quantitative data about the gain of 41 practicant’s achievement. Assistant’s practicum mastery and laboratory skills were reviewed periodically using assistants selection instruments. Assistant’s performance was observed using observation sheets, assistants’ ability in evaluating practicum report was evaluated using report rubrics, and the accuracy of Marzano’s taxon based-practicum questions composed by the assistants was confirmed according to characters of Marzano’s new taxonomy. Practicant’s achievement was found out by pretest-posttest score, student worksheet, work report and exam score. Results showed that assistants’ ability in almost every processing level was already very well-develop. The average ability of cognitive, metacognitive and self system of the practicants was also already well-develop. In overall, the PAsPAL program was positively welcomed by most of practicants and every practicum assistants.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTelah dilakukan penelitian untuk menganalisis kemunculan keterampilan laboratorium mikrobiologi melalui program pembelajaran mikrobiologi berbasis proyek inkuiri (P2MBPI) mini-riset. Penelitian melibatkan sejumlah mahasiswa semester IV Program Studi Biologi di salah satu LPTK Negeri di kota Bandung (n=33), yang mengikuti perkuliahan mikrobiologi. Program pembelajaran dirancang dalam setting laboratorium berbasis proyek inkuiri kelompok (free inquiry labs). Data penelitian dijaring melalui laporan mini-riset, presentasi oral dan poster serta wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa P2MBPI mini-riset setiap kelompok memberikan kontribusi terhadap kemunculan keterampilan laboratorium mikrobiologi yang cukup beragam. Hal ini selaras dengan tahapan proyek mulai dari pemilihan masalah dan topik mini-riset, sampai pengambilan keputusan proyek yang dilaksanakan oleh kelompok. Secara umum ruang lingkup topik proyek mini-riset mencakup empat bidang, yaitu mikrobiologi pertanian (tanah), mikrobiologi lingkungan (air), mikrobiologi kesehatan, dan mikrobiologi pangan. Hasil analisis kemunculan jenis keterampilan spesifik lab mikrobiologi dari laporan, presentasi oral, dan poster, serta wawancara menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar kelompok menunjukkan persentase kemunculan jenis keterampilan yang tinggi (100)%), yaitu pada keterampilan bekerja aseptik, keterampilan mengisolasi mikroba, sterilisasi, dan menggunakan mikroskop. Kemunculan jenis keterampilan dengan persentase sedang (75%) pada keterampilan identifikasi dan kultivasi mikroorganisme. Selanjutnya berdasarkan hasil wawancara mendalam pada 7 orang mahasiswa, menyatakan bahwa program pembelajaran mikrobiologi berbasis proyek inkuiri mini-riset ini juga sangat berarti, disamping mendapatkan keterampilan lab mikrobiologi, juga dapat membekali keterampilan meneliti (research skill) mahasiswa biologi. Dengan demikian P2MBPI mini-riset ini, perlu terus dikembangkan karena memberikan konstribusi yang berarti dalam membekali mahasiswa calon ilmuwan biologi bekerja di laboratorium dan melakukan penelitian biologi.ABSTRACTEmergence of specific laboratory skills in microbiology through inquiry-based project “mini-research” has been analysed. The analysis involved the 4th semester university students of Biological Study Program (n = 33), who were attended the microbiology course. Course program was designed in a group free inquiry laboratory setting. The research data was collected through a mini-research reports, oral and poster presentations and in depht-interview. The results showed that the inquiry project of each group identified give diverse contribution to their microbiology laboratory skills. This is consistent with the stages of the project ranging from selection problems and mini-research topics to the decision making of projects undertaken by the group. In general, scope of the topic of a mini-research project covered four areas,as follow, agriculture, environmental, medical, and food microbiology. Moreover, the results of data also indicated that most groups showed occurrence percentage of high skill (100)%) on aseptic work skills, microbes isolation, sterilization, and operating a microscope, whereas skills on identification and cultivation of microorganisms exhibited moderate percentage (75%). However, low percentage (37.5%) of laboratory skills were on inoculation and enumeration of microorganisms. Furthermore, based on the interviews, students argued that the microbiology project-based learning program was meaningful to improve not only the laboratory skills, but also biological research skills for biology students. Thus, the mini-research project should be developed in the class for providing biological students work in laboratories and conduct the microbiological research.

Abstract

ABSTRAKInkuiri ilmiah merupakan salah satu tujuan penting dalam pembelajaran sains yang disarankan kurikulum namun pelaksanaannya tidak seperti yang diinginkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi pemahaman inkuri ilmiah mahasiswa calon guru biologi/IPA dan guru IPA. Sebanyak 34 orang mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Biologi semester 7 dan 25 orang guru IPA terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Gambaran pemahaman inkuiri ilmiah dieksplor dengan menggunakan kuesioner VASI (Views About Scientific Inquiry. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman mahasiswa calon guru Biologi/IPA lebih baik daripada guru IPA pada beberapa aspek inkuiri ilmiah. Namun demikian, kedua kelompok responden masih memiliki pemahaman yang kurang pada aspek karakteristik penyelidikan ilmiah, fungsi pertanyaan dalam sebuah penelitian, hubungan antara pertanyaan, prosedur dan kesimpulan. Kedua kelompok juga belum memahami tentang bukti ilmiah, alasan memilih prosedur, dan hubungan antara data yang ditemukan dengan penelitian sebelumnya.ABSTRACTScientific inquiry is the main objective of science education. However, its practice was not as we want it to be. This research objective was to explore prospective biology teachers’ and science teachers’ views on scientific inquiry. Thirty four-seventh semester biology students and 25 science teachers participated in this research. Scientific inquiry was explored using Views About Scientific Inquiry (VASI) Questionnaire. Results showed that understanding level of pre-service biology teachers was better than science teachers understanding in some aspects of scientific inquiry. However, both respondents lack understanding of some aspects in scientific inquiry, i.e. scientific investigation characteristics, an investigation begin with a question, question guides a procedure, scientific evidence, procedure selection, and the relation data collecting and previous investigation.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan kemampuan Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) guru biologi senior (mengajar 20 th) dan guru junior ( mengajar 10 th). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kasus, partisipannya adalah dua orang guru biologi junior dan dua orang guru biologi senior. Kemampuan ini diukur dengan meminta guru membuat CoRes dan PaP-eRs pada materi transportasi zat yang dilanjutkan dengan teknik wawancara. Data dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa guru senior memunculkan tujuh konsep penting yang harus diajarkan sedangkan guru junior memunculkan antara delapan sampai 10 konsep. Guru senior lebih fokus pada konsep-konsep yang cenderung menimbulkan miskonsepsi dan pada bagian sulit dipahami oleh siswa seperti konsep difusi dan osmosis, serta pembelajaran lebih kepada penggunaan metode. Guru senior lebih fleksibel menggunakan strategi mengajar, disesuaikan dengan kondisi dilapangan dan keadaan siswa. Guru junior lebih fokus pada kedalaman materi dan model-model pembelajaran yang akan digunakan. Penggunaan strategi cenderung kurang fleksibel, lebih dikaitkan pada perencanaan yang sudah dibuat.ABSTRACTThis study aims to describe the ability of a senior biology teacher (teaching 20 years) and junior teachers (teaching 10 years) on Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK). This research was a case study, and the participants were two junior biology teachers and two senior biology teachers. This ability was measured by asking teachers to make CoRes and PaP-ers on the transport of material substance, followed by interview. Data were analyzed with descriptive qualitative techniques. The analysis showed that the senior teachers raises seven important concept that should be taught while the junior teacher raises between eight to 10 concepts. The senior teachers were more focus on the concepts that lead to misconception, such as the concepts about diffusion and osmosis, and more to learning methods. The senior teachers were more flexible in the use of teaching strategies according to students conditions and circumstances. The junior teachers were focus more on the depth of the material and learning models that will be used. The use of strategies tend to be less flexible, more linked to the planning that has been made.

Abstract

The students of long distance education were demanded to had high self-regulated learning so that they could survive and success in their study. Therefore, they had to be trained to do self-regulated learning so that they could improve their academic achievements. This research was a quasi-experimental research involved 63 the students of long distance education of Biology Education who got used to do self-regulated learning through online tutorials integrating learning strategy and were given a guide of self-regulated learning and 48 the students who did not receive the treatments. After the online tutorials finished, the students filled the scale of self-regulated learning and had final exams. Besides, they filled open ended questioners and were interviewed. Based on the statistical results, the students who got self-regulated learning through online tutorials integrating the learning strategy and the learning guide significantly got higher score of self-regulated learning compared to the students who did not. Likewise the students' academic achievements were significantly higher than the students without treatments. In the future, it was suggested that the integration of the learning strategy into online tutorials should be done to all courses so that the students could had higher self-regulated learning influenced the academic achievements.

Abstract

Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah adalah usaha ekonomi produktif yang berdiri sendiri, yang dilakukan oleh orang perseorangan atau badan usaha yang bukan merupakan anak perusahaan atau cabang perusahaan yang dimiliki, dikuasai atau menjadi bagian baik langsung maupun tidak langsung dengan usaha kecil atau usaha besar dengan jumlah kekayaan bersih atau hasil penjualan tahunan. Aspek hukum UMKM meliputi UU No. 20 Tahun 2008 dan KUHPerdata Pasal 1313 tentang perjanjian. Problematika UMKM yang sering terjadi adalah menyangkut sejumlah persoalan, seperti ketimpangan struktural dalam alokasi dan penguasaan sumber daya, dan pengembangan strategi industrialisasi, kinerja yang relatif terbatas pada hal yang klasikal (sumber daya manusia atau SDM, permodalan dan akses terhadap kelembagaan keuangan, teknologi, manajemen, pemasaran dan informasi). Mitra dalam kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah UMKM binaan Kecamatan Ciater, Subang, Jawa Barat. Kegiatan ini dimulai dengan adanya permintaan dari mitra (Kecamatan Ciater Subang Jawa Barat) untuk dapat dilaksanakannya kegiatan penyuluhan hukum terkait aspek hukum pembiayaan terhadap UMKM. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan audiensi, rapat pembahasan tema, penandatangan kerjasama dan pelaksanaan edukasi/penyuluhan. Setelah itu, kami menyepakati bahwa pelaksanaan akan diselenggarapak pada tanggal 04-05 Desember 2021 di Aula lembah Sarimas Subang, Jawa Barat. Kata Kunci: Perjanjian Pembiayaan, UMKM

Abstract

Kerang Hijau (Perna viridis) adalah salah satu spesies dari kelas Bivalvia yang banyak ditemukan di perairan Tambak Lorok, Semarang dan di perairan Morosari, Demak, sehingga menjadi salah satu sumber pendapatan masyarakat di daerah tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melakukan pengukuran morfomeri kerang hijau, mengetahui pertumbuhan  dan indeks kondisi populasi kerang hijau (P. viridis) di kedua prairan tersebut. Sebanyak 50 individu kerang hijau diambil dari lokasi penelitian pada bulan Desember 2020, Januari 2021 dan Februari 2021. Hasil pengukuran morfometri menunjukkan bahwa selama penelitian, populasi kerang hijau di kedua lokasi terdiri dari satu kelompok ukuran, dengan puncak kelas ukuran yang bergeser ke kanan yang menunjukkan adanya pertumbuhan. Hubungan panjang  dan berat kerang hijau  menunjukkan kisaran nilai b 2,22-2,27 dan 1,0-2,5 berturut-turut di perairan Tambak Lorok dan Morosari dan pertumbuhannya bersifat alometri negatif, dengan nilai ƿ berkisar 0,76-0,88 (korelasi positif kuat) di perairan Tambak Lorok dan 0,33-0,80 (korelasi lemah sampai kuat) di perairan Morosari.  Nilai indeks kondisi kerang hijau di  Perairan Tambak Lorok dan Morosari sebesar 36,89-47,91 yang  menunjukkan kondisi yang sedang. Dari data morfometri nampak adanya rekruitmen dari proses reproduksi  dan mortalitas karena penangkapan pada populasi kerang hijau di kedua lokasi penelitian. Green mussel (Perna viridis) is one of the species from the class Bivalvia which is commonly found in the waters of Tambak Lorok, Semarang and Morosari, Demak, so that it becomes a source of income for the coastal communities in those area. The purpose of this study was to measure the morphometry of green mussels, to determine the growth and condition index of the population of green mussels (P. viridis) in the waters of Tambak Lorok, Semarang and Morosari, Demak. A total of 50 green mussels were taken from the study sites in December 2020, January 2021 and February 2021. The results of morphometric measurements showed that during the study, the green mussel population in both locations consisted of one size group, with the size class peaks shifting to the right indicating growth. The relationship between length and weight of green mussels showed a range of b values of 2.22-2.27 and 1.0-2.5 respectively in Tambak Lorok and Morosari waters and the growth was negative allometric, with correlation values ranging from 0,76-0.88 (strong positive correlation) in Tambak Lorok waters and 0.33-0.80 (weak to strong correlation) in Morosari waters. The condition index value of green mussels in Tambak Lorok and Morosari waters is 36.89-47.91 which indicates moderate conditions. From the morphometry data, it appears that there is a recruitment process and mortality due to capture in the green mussel population in both research locations.
