Abstract

This study is to evaluate and analyze the hurdles and problems that a lecturer has in obtaining peak performance by examining the impact of discipline, infrastructure, work environment, and work rewards on lecturer performance. The sample of this study were 32 respondents and this study is quantitative and questionnaire was used to collect the data. We identify or uncover causality to determine the link or impact of discipline, infrastructure, work environment, and job rewards on lecturer performance in statistics are used in this study. The findings revealed that the existence of the Work Reward variable as a control variable had an effect on the variables discipline (X1), infrastructure (X2), work environment (X3) and lecturer performance (Y). Thus, it can be inferred that the variables of discipline, infrastructure, and work environment are not the only factors that influence lecturer performance, because another variable, namely the work reward variable, also has an impact on lecturer performance. Work reward, is one of the variables influencing the rise in discipline, infrastructure, and work environment on lecturer performance. Meanwhile, the statistical results of SPSS 25 show that discipline, infrastructure, work environment, and job rewards all have a substantial impact on professor performance.

Abstract

The implementation of religious and disciplinary character education is a fundamental pillar in the national education reform agenda, yet the challenges posed by the social environment and technology in central Palembang are potentially eroding these noble values. This research aims to deeply analyze the managerial strategy applied by the Principal of SMP Negeri 21 Palembang in internalizing religious and disciplinary character values using the POAC approach (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, and Controlling). This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design, focusing on SMP Negeri 21 Palembang. Primary data was collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and questionnaires distributed to key informants, including the Principal, Vice Principal, Islamic Religious Education Teacher, Counseling Teacher, and student representatives. Data analysis was performed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, and the validity was ensured through source, technique, and theory triangulation. The results show that the Principal's managerial strategy has been implemented comprehensively. In the Planning stage, character values are explicitly integrated into the school's vision, mission, and supported by specific budget allocations in the RKS/RKAS. Organizing is realized through the formation of a Character Task Force Team with clear functional and coordinative duties. The Actuating phase is strengthened by strong leadership through example (modeling) and routine habituation activities (congregational Dhuha prayers, 5S). However, a competence gap was found, with about 20% of teachers struggling to integrate character values into their lesson plans (RPP). Controlling is formally effective through the Daily Control Book and PKKS, although there is inconsistency in sanction enforcement among the implementing teachers, which may reduce the credibility of the disciplinary system. Overall, the strategy is highly effective in building a character-based school ecosystem, but its success will be optimized with continuous teacher competency improvement and strengthened consistency in applying reward and punishment at all levels.

Abstract

Examining the influence of industrial work practice, career counseling, encouragement to enter the world of work, and soft skills on work preparation is the purpose of this study. The research population was all XII grade students of SMK N 5 Palembang totaling 400 people, a research sample of 129 was determined through the G*power program, data collection techniques using questionnaires and multiple regression (ARM) with the backward method assisted by SPSS 26 for data analysis. The test results for the R coefficient of multiple regression models provide a test statistical value of F = 27.148, and a p-value (Sig.) <0.001. The regression model test results show that the initial model with 4 independent variables is not significant in explaining variations in work readiness, then the backward ARM suggests an improved model by discarding variables (X3) and (X4), so that a standardized regression equation Y = 2.186 + 0.299X1 + 0.455X2 is obtained, and the value of R2 = 0.457. This can be interpreted that with a contribution of 45.7% industrial work practices and career counseling have a positive and important impact on work readiness. The research results indicate that career counseling activities and industrial work practices are very important in helping students prepare for the world of work competition after they graduate.

Abstract

Assessment of PPPK Teachers’ Performance is an essential aspect in the education sector, particularly in ensuring objectivity, accountability, and the continuity of teachers’ professional development. This study aims to describe the perceptions of PPPK teachers at SMP Negeri 21 Palembang regarding the transparency in the performance appraisal process. The background of this research is based on the demands of the merit system and the need for transparency in criteria, procedures, and the utilization of performance appraisal results to prevent perceptions of unfairness or bias. The study employed a qualitative-descriptive approach using Likert-scale closed questionnaires and open-ended questionnaires administered to 33 PPPK teachers as respondents. The results indicate that teachers’ perceptions fall into the high category in aspects of procedural transparency, openness of HR administrative information, fairness and objectivity of assessment, as well as HR management accountability, with an average score of 4.18, categorized as high. The most positive perception appears in the aspect accountability and responsibility. However, some teachers still experience limited access to written performance appraisal results and insufficient in-depth feedback from evaluators. Other findings highlight that PPPK teachers expect strengthened transparency through digital information systems and more consistent explanation of indicators. Overall, the study concludes that HR administrative transparency has been implemented well but still requires improvements in documentation and openness of appraisal results in order to enhance motivation, trust, and the quality of teacher performance management in schools.
