Abstract

One of the challenges for students to maintain their own culture is their lack of understanding of Javanese script. Java has diverse ethnicities, cultures and languages, and these differences create a unique beauty. The method applied in class 3 of SDN 1 Sukosono in this research is the research and development (R&D) method. Researchers applied the ADDIE model which includes 5 phases namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The purpose of this research is to develop ACA Card learning media for Javanese script material and improve students' knowledge in understanding Javanese script. Based on the needs analysis, students have difficulty in understanding Javanese script, especially Carakan script. The results showed that ACA Card media that compiled sentences into cards and used attractive designs obtained validation results from material experts as much as 80% and from media experts as much as 75% with a percentage of decent categories. The ACACard media trial showed an increase in scores from pretest 53.87 to posttest 81.00 for 15 students. The results of the analysis test with paired sample t-tests on SPSS 26 show a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, which means that there is a difference in the average acquisition of learning outcomes before and after the application of ACA Card media in Javanese script learning in elementary schools. Thus, the development of ACA Card media can be concluded to be effective for developing students' understanding of Javanese script material, especially Carakan script.

Abstract

The village of Kupuk, situated in the Bungkal District of the Ponorogo Regency in East Java, is extremely vulnerable to natural disasters such as forest fires and tornadoes. The level of public awareness and readiness for this disaster must still be enhanced. This area also has natural springs, often the location of drowning accidents. To address this issue, students from Muhammadiyah University of Ponorogo participating in a community service program have created an educational video on disaster preparedness and first aid. Creating this video requires identifying disaster risks, collaborating with experts and relevant authorities, collecting in-depth information, conducting first aid simulations, professional video production, expert content validation, and distribution through social media and local community networks. This initiative's results indicate that disaster mitigation and community education play a crucial role in safeguarding communities from the threat of natural disasters. Collaboration between stakeholders and video technology has increased the community's awareness and preparedness for emergency situations. This video has the potential to serve as an illustrative model for other regions confronting comparable threats.

Abstract

This study investigates the perceptions of 12th-grade students at SMKN 2 Tebo regarding the teaching methods used by their English teachers for mastering cause-and-effect sentences. Additionally, it explores the extent to which these methods contribute to students' improvement in identifying, interpreting, and using cause-and-effect sentences. The research employs a qualitative approach, specifically descriptive analysis, to analyze data collected through questionnaires and observations. The data analysis reveals that students perceive the teacher's teaching methods as lacking variety and engagement, leading to boredom and hindering their understanding of cause-and-effect sentences. Additionally, the study identifies a lack of motivation among students to learn more about cause-and-effect sentences. Based on the findings, the study concludes that the teacher's teaching methods need significant improvement to effectively engage students and enhance their understanding of cause-and-effect sentences. The study recommends incorporating more diverse and interactive teaching strategies to motivate students and improve their learning outcomes.
