Abstract

The purpose of this study was to design a Decision Support System (SPK) for selecting the Chair and Deputy Chairmen of Himafortika using the Weighted Product (WP) Method. So far, the process of selecting the chairman and deputy chairman of Himafortika is still experiencing problems, where the selection system still uses the manual method. The results of the selection are then submitted to the selection team to assess the candidates who will be elected as candidates for chairman and deputy chairman of the Hima. This system is designed using the programming language PHP and MySQL as the database. This system can rank candidates by calculating feature weights. The alternative used in this study is based on the average active student requirements, GPA 3.00, semester students, past photos and LKMM-T certificates. The results of this study are a decision support system that is made to find out the best and worthy candidates to become candidates for chairman and deputy chairman of the Hima based on the results of an assessment of the requirements for the candidate for chairman and deputy chairman of the Hima. The admin can input data on the requirements for chairperson and deputy chairperson candidates for each factor, then the system will find a solution using the Weighted Product (WP) method. After the decision is obtained, the system will display the decision.

Abstract

Background: Environmental pollution, especially due to organic waste from the food industry, is a serious problem in today's society. Waste from grass jelly factories contains high organic content which causes an increase in Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and has the potential to pollute water and ecosystems. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Pseudomonas bacteria as a bioremediation agent in reducing COD levels in grass jelly factory waste. Methods: The methods used consisted of observational and experimental, with testing carried out at the Microbiology Laboratory, State University of Medan. Results: The results showed that after 14 days of treatment, COD levels decreased from 195.75 mg/L to 154.73 mg/L, indicating a decrease of around 20.9%. Conclusion: This study concludes that Pseudomonas bacteria are effective in reducing organic pollution in grass jelly factory waste, so they have the potential to be applied in industrial waste management.

Abstract

This article discusses Students’ Regional Potential-based Project for Vocational Education in Engineering Field as a strategy to strengthen the quality of project-based learning implementation, covering project-based learning, a project task based on potential of student’s region, the seven standard elements on a project task based on potential of student’s region, the stages of the implementation, and its effectiveness. It was driven by the existence of enormous potentials in Indonesia which have not been optimally developed. Most of universities here are located in urban areas, while most of the students come from rural regions. The previous research discloses students’ positive perceptions toward this learning implementation. It helps them develop their soft skills, fosters better engagement with the learning process, and improves their 4C skills (Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity). The approach is able to serve as a model for vocational education learning, particularly in the field of engineering. It not only provides students with the opportunity to acquire knowledge, technology, and soft skills, but also contributes to students’ regional development. This article is highly beneficial for learning implementation in Indonesia, particularly in vocational education, as well as a reference for further studies.

Abstract

The background of this study is the low reading comprehension and literacy skills of students as indicated by only 36.36% of students achieving the minimum completion criteria at the pre-action stage. This classroom action research aims to improve the learning outcomes of Indonesian language subjects of grade 2 students of SD Inpres Tulo through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by interactive media. Using classroom action research with data collection techniques using learning outcome tests, teacher and student activity observation sheets, and field notes. Quantitative descriptive analysis is used to calculate individual absorption and classical completion, while qualitative analysis is used to assess activity scores to assess the success of the actions taken. The results of the study showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes, with the average value increasing from 61.81 in the pre-action to 80.90 in cycle II and classical completion reaching 81.81%. Student activity also increased from the sufficient category to good. In conclusion, the use of PBL with relevant media can be an alternative strategy to improve literacy skills and can be adapted to other subjects at the elementary level.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the concept of "The Dream Society" by Rolf Jensen from the Rhenald Kasali Youtube channel entitled "Welcome to A Dream Society". In this study, the researcher used a qualitative approach with the note-taking method because the data source that the author obtained was through listening. The results of a brief review of the listening process explain that In a Dream Society, emotional needs will become a top priority and people will focus more on developing their skills and talents. Work will be a way to achieve a greater purpose in life, and individuals will be more committed to fighting for human rights, the environment, and social justice. More subtle values ​​such as beauty, creativity, and imagination will be highly valued. Products and services will be developed to meet emotional and aesthetic needs, and people will choose products that convey positive messages and evoke pleasant feelings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the tahsin tahfidz fathona program at Fathona Integrated Islamic Elementary School in Palembang. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive qualitative approach. The study involves 20 informants, consisting of the program coordinators, Tahfidz teachers, and students. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques involve data reduction, data presentation, data verification, and conclusion drawing. The validity test of this research data uses source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results and discussion indicate that the Tahsin Tahfidz Fathona program has been implemented effectively. This is evident through guidance, coordination, motivation, and continuous communication in the program’s execution. The implementation includes adherence to Tajwid rules, reading fluency, understanding of Makharijul Huruf, assessments and evaluations, teacher feedback, repetition of memorization (Muraja’ah), accuracy and fluency in reading, and the ability to connect verses during the program.

Abstract

Administration plays an important role in supporting the smooth operation of schools, particularly in administrative aspects, including student and teacher data management, correspondence, and academic and financial reports. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews with administrative staff and the school principal, and a review of school administrative documents. The results indicate that the implementation of administrative tasks at MTsN 1 Ogan Ilir is generally well-managed, particularly in student data management and academic reporting. However, several challenges were identified, such as insufficient training for competency enhancement and inadequate administrative support facilities, including computers and internet connectivity. On the other hand, the school continues to make improvements through the development of a digital-based administrative system, the formulation of administrative standard operating procedures (SOPs), and enhanced coordination between administrative staff and school management. This study recommends the importance of regular training and development for administrative staff, as well as strengthening the school's management information system to improve the quality of administrative services that are effective, efficient, and accountable. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for evaluation and policy-making in the professional management of educational administration at the madrasah.

Abstract

One of the challenges for students to maintain their own culture is their lack of understanding of Javanese script. Java has diverse ethnicities, cultures and languages, and these differences create a unique beauty. The method applied in class 3 of SDN 1 Sukosono in this research is the research and development (R&D) method. Researchers applied the ADDIE model which includes 5 phases namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The purpose of this research is to develop ACA Card learning media for Javanese script material and improve students' knowledge in understanding Javanese script. Based on the needs analysis, students have difficulty in understanding Javanese script, especially Carakan script. The results showed that ACA Card media that compiled sentences into cards and used attractive designs obtained validation results from material experts as much as 80% and from media experts as much as 75% with a percentage of decent categories. The ACACard media trial showed an increase in scores from pretest 53.87 to posttest 81.00 for 15 students. The results of the analysis test with paired sample t-tests on SPSS 26 show a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, which means that there is a difference in the average acquisition of learning outcomes before and after the application of ACA Card media in Javanese script learning in elementary schools. Thus, the development of ACA Card media can be concluded to be effective for developing students' understanding of Javanese script material, especially Carakan script.

Abstract

The large number of rice fields in Borikamase Village, resulting in high production of hay, requires an appropriate effort to use straw into organic fertilizer or bokashi which is environmentally friendly as well as safe for plants. The use of straw into bokashi or organic fertilizer needs to be taught to the farming community, so the community service team focuses on providing assistance and training to the community in utilizing straw as a raw material in making bokashi by using microorganisms as the source of fermentation. In addition, the high price of synthetic fertilizers on the market makes farmers in Borikamase Village feel heavy in providing nutritional supplies to their agricultural areas, so that this training is expected to help farmers by obtaining fertilizers that are cheap, safe, and of good quality to fertilize. The existence of biotechnology applications, provides the right solution in overcoming the damage to bald mountains and the scarcity and high price of synthetic fertilizers, namely by processing straw into bokashi or organic fertilizers with high nutrient content and are safe for the environment. In addition, providing knowledge and skills for farming communities as agents of reform in restoring ecosystem balance through the application of bokashi made of straw on rice fields. Abstract

Kasus yang terjadi di kota Ambon tahun 2014 dengan tingkat API (Annual Parasite Indence) sebesar 4,31% disebabkan karena kondisi geografis yang mempengaruhi proses perkembangan vektor nyamuk secara signifikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat kepadatan dan perbedaan larva nyamuk Culicidae dan Anophelidae pada daerah perbukitan dan dataran rendah dengan hubungan kejadian malaria dan filariasis di Kota Ambon. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan sistem acak (Random Sampling) dengan menggunakan rancangan Cross Sectional. Analisis kepadatan larva nyamuk diukur dengan menggunakan beberapa indikator yakni House Indeks, Container Indeks, Breteau Indeks dan Larval Density Indeks. Analisis perbedaan kepadatan larva nyamuk diuji dengan one way annova dan untuk melihat hubungan kondisi fisik dengan kejadian malaria dan filariasis diuji dengan chi square menggunakan SPSS versi 20. Hasil uji one way annova menyebutkan bahwa Fhitung (2,346) > F tabel (002), artinya terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kepadatan larva nyamuk pada daerah perbukitan dan dataran rendah di Kota Ambon. Uji chi square juga menunjukkan bahwa nilai p < 0,05 artinya terdapat hubungan antara kondisi fisik terhadap kepadatan larva dan terdapat hubungan antara kepadatan larva dengan kejadian malaria dan filariasis di Kota Ambon. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kepadatan larva nyamuk pada dataran rendah lebih tinggi daripada daerah perbukitan, terdapat perbedaan antara kepadatan larva pada daerah perbukitan dan dataran rendah dan terdapat hubungan antara kondisi fisik dengan kepadatan larva serta terdapat hubungan antara kepadatan larva dengan kejadian malaria dan filariasis di Kota Ambon Provinsi Maluku
