Abstract

Melimpahnya sumber pakan, baik berupa jagung, ampas tahu, dan kulit ari kedelai di Desa Alebo, Kecamatan Konda, Konawe Selatan, dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan produksi ayam kampung sehingga dapat diperoleh hasil yang optimal. Usaha produksi ayam kampung yang dijalankan masyarakat Desa Alebo masih terbatas untuk tujuan produksi daging dan sangat memungkinkan untuk dikembangkan menjadi usaha produksi ayam kampung dengan tujuan menghasilkan telur baik untuk telur konsumsi maupun untuk telur bibit. Program PKM ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peternak dalam memanfaatkan sumber pakan yang ada di sekitar peternak untuk membuat pakan ayam kampung yang berkualitas dengan harga murah, dalam mengaplikasikan teknologi reproduksi, serta pencegahan penyakit untuk mendukung produktivitas ayam kampung. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kegiatan non fisik meliputi diskusi dan praktek bersama, serta metode kegiatan fisik berupa pelatihan pembuatan pakan, inseminasi buatan, dan pengoperasian mesin tetas.

Abstract

One of chicken farming byproduct that has potential to be processed to become more economical product is manure. If not treated well, the manure could spread odour and become the media for parasitic vectors like flies. Chicken manure can be processed into organic fertilizer for vegetable farming. Aside from personal use, the organic fertilizer then can be sold and increase the farmers’ income especially in COVID-19 pandemic where most economical sector collapsed. The problem faced by farmers at Anggalomelai, Abeli sub-district was their lack of knowledge on manure processing technologies. This themed KKN Program by FPt UHO aimed to offer solutions for farmers by giving technical guidance and counseling on manure processing technologies. This program was held for one month starting from June 13th until July 13th, 2020 on Anggomelai, Abeli sub-district, Kendari. The program was carried by technical guidance and counseling for farmers, either face to face or online by still maintaining the COVID-19 prevention protocols. Result obtained from this program showed the increasing knowledge of farmers in Anggomelai, Abeli sub-district especially in prrocessing chicken manure into organic fertilizer for vegetable farming.

Abstract

Pengembangan ayam kampung dikalangan masyarakat memiliki peran yang sangat besar bagi kehidupannya terutama di pedesaan sebagai penghasil daging dan telur konsumsi dan sebagai sumber tambahan pendapatan, namun diberlakukannya Sosial Dintancing guna memutus penyebaran COVID-19, mengharuskan aktivitas masyarakat harus bekerja dari rumah (Work From Home), kondisi tersebut menyebabkan penurunan pendapatan masyarakat. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh peternak adalah kurangnya pengetahuan peternak tentang teknologi aplikatif budidaya ayam kampung yang dapat diterapkan di era pandemi COVID-19guna mempertahankan usahanya. Melalui program KKN-Tematik FPt UHO transfer Inovasi teknologi seleksi bibit unggul dan inseminasi buatan (IB), merupakan alternatif pemecahan masalah yang dihadapi peternak. Program ini dilaksanakan selama 1 (satu) bulan yaitu dimulai sejak tanggal 13 Juni 2020 sampai dengan tanggal 13 Juli 2020, di Kecamatan Nambo Kota Kendari. Pelaksanaan program dilakukan dalam bentuk Bimbingan Teknis (Bimtek) dan Penyuluhan yaitu (1) Bimtek dan Penyuluhan secara virtual/online; dan (2) Bimtek dan Penyuluhan dengan metode tatap muka baik secara individu ataupun lebih dan tetap memperhatikan protokol pencegahan Covid-19. Adapun materi penyuluhan program pemberdayaan ini, yaitu tehnik seleksi bibit unggul dan teknologi inseminasi buatan (IB) pada ayam kampung super. Berdasarkan kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan hasil yang telah dicapai pada kegiatan ini, yaitu adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang seleksi bibit unggul dan inseminasi buatan (IB), sehingga di era pandemi Covid-19 peternak ayam kampung tetap dapat mengembangkan keberlanjutan usahanya dan mampu mempertahankan ataupun meningkatkan pendapatanya.Kata Kunci: Ayam Kampung, Bibit Unggul, Inseminasi Buatan

Abstract

The lack of knowledge and skills in preparing domestic chicken rations will affect farmers' incomes. The fact so far shows that commercial animal feed that meets the local market of Southeast Sulawesi comes from outside the Southeast Sulawesi region, particularly South Sulawesi and Java. The price of commercial feed is certainly not cheap and is increasing from year to year, which affects the poor purchasing power of farmers. Improving farmers' knowledge and skills through technical guidance and advice as part of the FPHO Thematic Community Service Program will provide knowledge about the production of domestic chicken feed for farm animals to meet the food needs needed for growth, development and reproduction . This service will run for a month starting June 13, 2020 through July 13, 2020 in Nambo Village, Nambo District, Kendari City. This non-profit activity was carried out with the involvement of the participants in the UHO FPt Thematic KKN. The program is implemented in the form of technical guidance and advice, namely (1) technical guidance and virtual / online advice; and (2) technical guidance and advice using personal methods both individually and over and in compliance with the Covid 19 Prevention Protocol. The material for this Community Service Extension program is the technology for the production of animal feed based on local raw materials. Based on the activities undertaken, the results of FPt UHO's thematic community service will improve farmers 'knowledge and skills in producing local chicken feed based on local raw materials to reduce feed costs and improve farmers' income in Nambo village, Nambo District

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is a health crisis that is affecting almost all parts of the world community. The corona virus affects not only the health sector but also other sectors such as education, social affairs, culture, religion and the economy. The livestock industry, especially poultry, also felt the effects. One of the areas affected by COVID-19 is the Nambo District in Kendari City. Farmers find it difficult to get local DOC chickens because the breeding company limits DOC production. The economic innovation in slip machine technology is an alternative problem solving for the procurement of DOC. The FPt UHO Thematic KKN program, through the technical support of local chicken breeders through the introduction of innovative economic incubator technology, is expected to overcome the problems of people losing their source of income while maintaining the COVID-19 protocol. This activity program will run from June 13, 2020 to July 13, 2020 for one month in the Nambo District of Kendari City. The program is implemented in the form of Technical Guidance and Counseling, whereby the Covid 19 prevention protocol is still observed. The results of the KKN Tematik FPt UHO program, namely to improve the knowledge and skills of farmers by applying simple technological innovations through technical guidance to produce economical incubators that can reduce the cost of purchasing DOC increase farmers' income during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

Biosecurity is an integral concept that influences the success of livestock production systems, especially in reducing the risks and consequences of infectious and non-communicable diseases. The problem faced by breeders in Abeli District is the lack of knowledge of breeders about maintenance systems that meet the eligibility standards of commercial native chicken farms, handling biosecurity, sanitation and animal health against diseases that are not yet optimal, so that native village chickens are often exposed to various diseases. Through the Thematic KKN FPt UHO program, efforts should be made to improve the knowledge and skills of farmers about bisecurity management that meets the standards for commercial village chicken farms. This service is carried out for one month, starting from June 13, 2020 to July 13, 2020, Abeli District, Kendari City. This community service activity was carried out by involving Thematic KKN FPt UHO participants. The program is carried out in the form of Technical Guidance and Counseling, namely (1) Bimtek and virtual / online counseling; and (2) Bimtek and counseling using face-to-face methods both individually and more and still pay attention to the Covid-19 prevention protocol. The material for this service program is handling biosecurity, sanitation and animal health. The results that have been achieved in the Thematic KKN FPt UHO program are improving the knowledge and skills of breeders in biosecurity management procedures which include three main activities namely isolation, traffic control and sanitation as an effort to prevent transmission of disease in native chicken farms

Abstract

Since the discovery of cryopreservation method for bull semen, cryopreservation become an alternative method for maintaining gamet resources of certain animal which is threatened or near extinction. This technology was then applied to the preservation of embryo, oocyte, ovary and testis. The application of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) for which sperm motility is unnecessary had supported the effort to create simplified method such as freeze-drying for sperm preservation. Due to the benefit of ICSI over the conventional in vitro fertilization (IVF) the spermatozoon could be mechanically driven to pass through the zona pellucida and entering the cytoplasm of oocytes prior to fertilization. The freeze-drying method is an alternative method in sperm preservation which ignored the motility of sperm. The sperm resulted from this technique is in drying state, therefore, it might be stored in room temperature or in refrigerator. Many reports have claimed that freeze-dried sperm which is not motile but has an intact DNA was able to fertilize oocytes, even produced offspring in mouse.

Abstract

Sinkronisasi estrus umumnya diterapkan dalam program inseminasi buatan untuk memicu  terjadinya  estrus  sekelompok    sapi  disinkronkan  dalam  efektifitas  time.The  sama PGF2α  dalam  sinkronisasi  estrus  dan  kemampuan  sperma  bergender  untuk  menginduksikehamilan pada sapi bali dievaluasi dalam hal ini belajar. Empat puluh ekor sapi digunakan dimana 20 ekor sapi yang disimpan di bawah managementwhile intensif yang lain 20 sapi yang disimpan di bawah manajemen semifinal intensif. Semen dikumpulkan dari banteng bali dan sexing sperma menggunakan metode Colum albumin dilakukan untuk menghasilkan sperma bergender.   semen   segar   dan   sperma   bergender   dievaluasi   sebelum   inseminasi   untuk menginduksi kehamilan pada sapi bali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 100% dari sapi menunjukkan estrus tanda dengan kualitas estrus berkisar antara 2,84 untuk sapi di bawah manajemen yang intensif dan 2,88 untuk sapi di bawah manajemen semi intensif. Tingkat tidak kembali juga tinggi yaitu 95% untuk sapi di bawah manajemen intensif dan 80% untuk sapi di bawah manajemen semi intensif. Sementara layanan per konsepsi hanya 1,15 untuk sapi di bawah manajemen intensif dan 1,20 untuk sapi di bawah manajemen semi intensif. Akhirnya, disimpulkan bahwa semua sapi memiliki respon yang baik untuk PGF2α untuk memicu estrus dan 95% dari sapi di bawah manajemen intensif  dan 80% dari sapi di bawah manajemen setengah intensif diprediksi pregnantbased pada tingkat non pulang pada hari 21 setelah inseminasi buatan dengan baik S / C.Kata kunci: sinkronisasi, sexing, sapi bali, intensif, semi intensif

Abstract

The process of freeze drying caused detrimental effect on plasma membrane and acrosome of the spermatozoa, even it potentially could alter the chromatin and DNA integrities. On the other hand, DNA integrity is essential for spermatozoa to participate in pronucleus formation during fertilization event. Therefore the evaluation of DNA integrity should be carried out to study the effect of freeze drying process. EDTA, EGTA, and PBS were used as dilution media of spermatozoa prior to freeze drying process to protect the DNA. Toluidine blue staining and comet assay methods were used to evaluate the alteration on chromatin and DNA integrities of spermatozoa, respectively. The results revealed that the highest compacted chromatin after 6 months storage of freeze-dried spermatozoa were observed from EGTA-3 (98%) and EGTA-1 (97%) treatments that had significant differences compared to all PBS treatments (90-92%), but not for fresh spermatozoa (100%). Whereas, the highest compacted DNA integrity of freeze-dried spermatozoa were observed from EGTA-2 (92%) and EGTA-3 (92%) but had no significant differences compared to other treatments including fresh spermatozoa (97%). These results demonstrate that EDTA and EGTA tend to be able to protect chromatin and DNA integrities of ram spermatozoa during freeze-drying and storage compared to PBS.
