Abstract

This research aims to explore: First, students' perceptions of lecturer performance. Second, students' satisfaction with lecturer performance in the Islamic Education Management Master's Program at FITK, UIN North Sumatra Medan. This research employs a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. The instruments utilized include observation, interviews, and documentary analysis. The research is conducted in the Islamic Education Management Master's Program at FITK, UIN North Sumatra Medan. Data analysis involves three steps: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that: First, there is a positive perception among students regarding lecturer performance, particularly concerning their teaching abilities, guidance on assignments, and thesis supervision. Lecturers demonstrate competence in teaching within their expertise and course materials. Moreover, they create a supportive and nurturing teaching environment. Specifically in thesis supervision, lecturers provide professional guidance by offering direction and explaining materials that students may find challenging. However, some negative perceptions exist, especially regarding the discipline of lecturers during classes. Some lecturers are occasionally late or fail to notify students in advance when they are unable to conduct the class. Second, students express satisfaction with lecturer performance, feeling that their expectations are met. Despite this, some dissatisfaction remains due to the lack of discipline displayed by lecturers in terms of punctuality and occasional unexplained absences, which diminishes overall satisfaction with lecturer performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to address the problem of incorrect pronunciation among students studying English education. The study used a descriptive methodology. Five students from the English education department participated in this study. Through interviewing and test recordings, the data was gathered. A test was used to evaluate the problems that students were facing, and an interview was done to validate the information gathered. Due to the differences in the linguistic systems of English and Bahasa, there were problems with pronunciation such as irregular placement and articulation, as well as a deficiency in the ability to pronounce vowels and consonants according to the international phonetics alphabet. The professor offered oral comments, mobile phone apps, audio-visual materials, and a lot of reading practice as methods for teaching English pronunciation.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the effect of hellotalk application in learning speaking skills. This research used is a quasiexperiment research with belong to postest only design. The population of this study consisted of sixty respondents of Junior High School students, which is the largest number of respondents for two group. Thirty for the experimental group and thirty for the control group, while the sample was taken by using cluster random sampling. Data analysis was carried out using the t test. The instrument of this research is a speaking test. The t observed = 18.29 is greater than the t table = 2.00. This means that the research hypothesis is accepted while the null hypothesis is rejected. This shows that the hellotalk application is effective in learning speaking skills

Abstract

Abstract

Mangrove forests play an important role in protecting the coast from abrasion, providing habitat for marine life, and sequestering carbon. However, mangroves are threatened by land conversion, unsustainable activities, and lack of public awareness. This program aims to build a generation that cares about the environment and encourages active community involvement in coastal conservation. This approach is expected to create a generation that not only has environmental knowledge, but also has the care and skills to contribute to conservation efforts. The program began with field observations and interviews to collect data on the geographical conditions and understanding of the local community regarding mangrove ecosystems. The results of observations were used to design teaching media in the form of mangrove species identification books, books about mangrove ecosystems, animal association books in mangroves, and educational games about food chains in mangroves. Based on the results of the activities, this study shows that the use of teaching media in the form of mangrove food chain posters, pictures of mangrove ecosystem fauna, and books about mangrove species is effective in increasing children's knowledge about mangrove ecosystems.
