Abstract

The Drangrang farmer group’s agricultural garden, located at RT10 RW03, Tirtajaya Village, Sukmajaya District, Depok, covers an area of approximately 1,500 m². The land is used to cultivate vegetables and crops such as corn, peanuts, and cucumbers. Electricity for agricultural operations is supplied by a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) with an initial capacity of 100 Wp. However, along with land expansion and increased load demand, the existing PLTS system could no longer meet energy needs, requiring a capacity upgrade. This community service activity aimed to provide technical assistance for the installation of additional solar panels to increase the PLTS capacity and fulfill electricity requirements for lighting and water pumps. The method included equipment procurement, system assembly in the garden area, and PLTS testing. The activity was carried out by lecturers and students from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Gunadarma University. The stages consisted of design, installation, testing, and measurement. The upgraded PLTS system now provides 200 Wp, capable of supplying four lighting points and one 160 W water pump. The additional capacity ensures a safer and more continuous power supply, supporting improved agricultural productivity and operational efficiency of the farmer group.

Abstract

Abstract Curahpoh Village, Curahdami District, Bondowoso Regency, is a potential center for the development of Robusta and Arabica coffee commodities. Generally, red-picked coffee in this area is processed using natural methods, resulting in green beans and coffee husks. To date, coffee husk waste has not been optimally utilized and tends to be neglected, potentially causing environmental problems. In fact, coffee husk waste has the potential to be used as a mixed material for planting bags for white oyster mushrooms, which can support product diversification and increase added value at the farmer level. This community service program aims to provide assistance to the LMDH Argo Santoso Farmers Group in Curahpoh Village in managing coffee husk waste as a mixed planting medium for baglog cultivation for white oyster mushrooms. The activity partner is the LMDH Argo Santoso Farmers Group, which has 21 coffee farmers. The activity implementation method is a training and mentoring approach, which includes the delivery of theoretical material and direct practice in making white oyster mushroom baglogs from coffee husk waste. Participants are actively involved in all stages of the activity, from mixing the ingredients, printing the baglogs, to the incubation process. The results of the activity showed a high level of participation and enthusiasm from participants throughout the program. Furthermore, the coffee husk-based baglog produced produced high-quality white oyster mushrooms. This activity provides an alternative use for coffee waste and opens up opportunities for the development of white oyster mushroom cultivation for the Curahpoh Village community. Keywords: baglog; coffee husk; community service mentoringl; local; oyster mushroom.

Abstract

The increasing demand for sugar is not accompanied by increased productivity of sugarcane, the primary raw material for making sugar. Utilizing dry land is one strategy to increase sugarcane productivity. Poor soil fertility caused by limited water and nutrients can affect the growth and productivity of sugarcane. It can be solved by using inorganic fertilizers combined with biological fertilizers such as Arbuscular Mycorrhiza in the planting media. One effort to increase the productivity of sugar cane plants is to improve the quality of sugarcane seedlings. The speed of growth at the beginning of the seeding period is determined by soil fertility and the variety of sugarcane plants used. This research was conducted from September to December 2023 at the Patrang Greenhouse, Jember Regency. This experiment was conducted using Factorial Completely Randomized Factorial Design (CRD) 2 factors with five replications. Factor 1 is the administration of mycorrhizal doses consisting of 4 levels, namely: Aₒ (0 grams), A₁ (5 grams), A₂ (10 grams), A₃ (15 grams). Factor 2 is the variety consisting of 2 types, namely, as follows: V₁ (Bulawang variety) and V₂ (PS 862 variety). The interaction of mycorrhizal dose treatment and the sugarcane variety significantly affected the plant's variable fresh weight. The combination treatment with a mycorrhizal dose of 15 grams applied to the PS 862 (A3V2) sugarcane variety gave the best results.

Abstract

Education is a fundamental component in national development, especially for developing countries such as Indonesia, which requires a high-quality next generation. The government has implemented a 12-year compulsory education policy covering education from elementary school (SD) to senior high school (SMA). Elementary school serves as the foundation for early learning for students. Academic education alone is not sufficient to develop a high-quality generation; character education also plays a role in shaping individual attitudes. This social project aims to examine the influence of globalization on the character of children at the elementary school level, as well as to identify character and ethical values associated with the development of globalization. This research was conducted on 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students at SDN Grujukan 1, using practical methods and an ice-breaking approach. This method aims to raise students' awareness of the importance of ethics and character in their daily lives, as well as their responsibilities as learners. The material presented is expected to be applied by students in the future.
