Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand the impact of the PjBL paradigm on student collaboration. This study employs a quantitative approach using the kind of study design that just uses a posttest control group. The instruments used in this study are the angket and lembar observation instruments. The sample selection technique used in this study is the jenuh sample since all of the population was designated as the study sample. The sample for this study is all students in class 5 SDN 2 Tawangbanteng for experiential learning and all students in class 5 SDN 1 Sukaratu for control. Data analysis is conducted using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The independent sample test, homogeneity test, and normality test comprise the inferential statistical test. Subsequently, to reduce some significant effects, use effect size in conjunction with Cohen's law. Based on the results of the deskriptif statistical analysis, 15 students with highly collaborative criteria were evaluated in the experimental class, while 9 students in the control group were evaluated with collaborative criteria. The results of the inferential statistical test show that Ho is not supported by H1, with a sig value of 0,003<0,05. There are differences in the collaborative learning outcomes between students using the PjBL model and students using the conventional model. Based on the uji impact size results, the category sedang has a nilai of 0.79. Due to this, it can be inferred that the PjBL model has an adverse effect on student collaboration in IPA classes in grade 5.

Abstract

This research discusses the impact of the model chosen by the teacher on students' understanding during the learning process. The effectiveness of the model used also determines the success of the learning process. Based on observations in class IV of Sukasari Elementary School in June 2023, researchers found problems in the learning mechanism that had a negative effect on students' understanding results. This problem is caused by the lack of effectiveness of conventional learning models which are teacher-centered, less varied and uninteresting. Therefore, researchers recommend Game Based Learning as an alternative to traditional teaching to improve students' understanding of the material. The target of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of Game Based Learning in increasing students' understanding of the concept of solar system material in class VI SDN Sukasari by research using the quasi experimental design method with a two group pre-test-post-test design. The results of the research show that the application of Game Based Learning in schools is effective in increasing students' understanding of the concept of solar system material. The effect is classified as moderate with the N-gain value in the experimental class using Game Based Learning at Sukasari Elementary School being 0.6357 and the n-gain percent being 0.6357. 63.5659%. The effectiveness of the n-gain score is classified as moderate because it is higher than 0.30 and lower than 0.70. Therefore, this research proves that the application of Game Based Learning in schools is effective in increasing students' understanding of the concept of solar system material.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan literasi sains siswa kelas V pada mata pelajaran IPAS melalui model Problem Based Learning berbantuan Augmented Reality. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experimental tipe non-equivalent control group, penelitian ini melibatkan masing-masing 30 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kontrol di Kecamatan Dukupuntang, Kabupaten Cirebon. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa 16 butir tes uraian dan lembar observasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan uji nonparametrik Mann Whitney karena data tidak memenuhi asumsi parametrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen melonjak dari 46,00 menjadi 81,57, sedangkan kelas kontrol hanya dari 45,43 menjadi 57,57. Hal ini diperkuat uji N-Gain, di mana kelas eksperimen mencapai 66% (kriteria sedang) dan kelas kontrol 21% (kriteria rendah). Uji Mann Whitney menghasilkan nilai Sig. 2-tailed 0,000 (< 0,05), membuktikan adanya perbedaan signifikan. Kesimpulannya, model Problem Based Learning berbantuan Augmented Reality efektif meningkatkan literasi sains siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh yang signifikan mengenai pemahaman literasi digital siswa kelas V melalui pembelajaran berbasis gamifikasi pada materi bencana alam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes sebanyak 22 soal essay. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran gamifikasi pada kelas eksperimen dapat meningkatkan pemahaman literasi digital siswa secara signifikan dibandingkan pada kelas kontrol. Nilai signifikansi pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,240 > 0,05. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis gamifikasi merupakan salah satu alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang efektif untuk meningkatkan literasi digital siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

The teaching of Natural Sciences in grade III elementary schools, particularly the Life Cycle topic, has predominantly relied on lecture-based delivery supported only by static illustrations in textbooks. As a result, students often struggle to grasp the sequential stages of metamorphosis and the abstract nature of living organisms' growth processes. To address this gap, the present study aimed to design an animated video medium for the Life Cycle topic, assess its feasibility, and evaluate its effectiveness in enhancing students' conceptual understanding. A research and development approach was employed, guided by the six-stage ASSURE model and supported by a one-group Pretest-Posttest pre-experimental design to determine the medium's effectiveness. Participants consisted of 29 third-grade students from Cikubang State Elementary School in Sumedang Regency, alongside one content expert, one media expert, and two teachers serving as validators. Data were gathered through interviews, expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and pretest-posttest instruments, which were subsequently analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the paired samples t-test, and the N-Gain test. Findings revealed that the developed animated medium was rated highly feasible, earning validation scores of 83.7% from the content expert, 83% from the media expert, and 79.69% from student responses. In terms of effectiveness, students' conceptual understanding improved markedly, with mean scores rising from 29.66 in the Pretest to 78.28 in the Posttest, accompanied by a statistically significant t-test result (p < 0.05, sig. = 0.000) and an N-Gain value of 0.67, classified as moderate and reasonably effective. These findings confirm that the animated video medium is both feasible and effective in strengthening third-grade students' conceptual understanding of the Life Cycle material.

Abstract

Science literacy among Indonesian elementary school students remains relatively low, as reflected in difficulties explaining scientific phenomena, interpreting data, and applying scientific concepts to everyday situations. Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based learning media offer an interactive, student-centered approach to address this issue. This study aimed to examine the effect of AI Assistant-based learning media on the science literacy of fourth-grade students in learning changes in the states of matter. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and Nonequivalent Control Group Design was employed. The sample consisted of 32 students assigned to an experimental class and a control class. Data were collected using pretest and posttest science literacy assessments and analyzed through N-Gain, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, Mann–Whitney U Test, and Cohen's d Effect Size. The results showed a significant difference in science literacy improvement between the two groups (Asymp. Sig. = 0.017, p < 0.05). The experimental class achieved a higher average N-Gain (0.64) than the control class (0.48), while Cohen's d value of 0.9226 indicated a large effect. Therefore, AI Assistant-based learning media effectively improved students' science literacy. These findings suggest that AI Assistant can support the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and promote innovative science learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Elementary science learning on volcanic eruption topics remains challenging for students. This difficulty arises from the abstract nature of the content and the limited use of interactive visual media, which often leads to low conceptual understanding. This study aims to develop and evaluate the CERIA flipbook (Creative Education with Augmented Reality for Science) as an AR-based learning medium that integrates contextual elements from students’ daily environments to support meaningful learning. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model and implemented a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 25 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Kodasari I, Majalengka, Indonesia. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, essay-based pretest and posttest, and student response questionnaires, and were analyzed using descriptive, quantitative, and inferential techniques. The results indicate that the media is highly feasible, with validation scores of 90.83% from media experts and 94.44% from content experts. Students’ conceptual understanding improved significantly, as reflected in the increase of mean scores from 41.8 to 82.64 (p < 0.001), with an N-Gain score of 0.73, categorized as high. In addition, students showed very positive responses toward the media, with an average score of 91.25%. These findings contribute to the growing evidence on the integration of contextual elements into AR-based science learning and offer a replicable pedagogical model for enhancing disaster literacy in elementary education

Abstract

Rendahnya aktivitas belajar siswa berdampak pada prestasi akademik yang cenderung rendah. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah atau Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam konteks pembelajaran fisika untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi listrik statis. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX SMPN, dengan kelas IX A sebagai kelas kontrol (menerapkan model konvensional/teknik ceramah) dan kelas IX B sebagai kelas eksperimen (menerapkan model PBL), masing-masing berjumlah 25 siswa. Instrumen berupa 6 soal uraian yang mengukur ranah kognitif C1-C4, telah diuji validitas (seluruh butir valid dan signifikan) dan reliabilitas (koefisien 0,88, kategori sangat tinggi). Data dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji Independent Sample t-Test, dan perhitungan N-Gain. Nilai rata-rata pretest dan posttest kelas eksperimen meningkat dari 6,32 menjadi 10,72 (naik 70%), sedangkan kelas kontrol meningkat dari 6,32 menjadi 7,60 (naik 20%). Hasil uji Independent Sample t-Test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 0,05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara hasil belajar kedua kelas. Persentase perbandingan nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol adalah 41%. Nilai N-Gain kelas eksperimen (PBL) sebesar 0,38 termasuk kategori peningkatan sedang, sedangkan kelas kontrol (teknik ceramah) sebesar 0,1 termasuk kategori peningkatan rendah. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran PBL memiliki pengaruh yang lebih besar dibandingkan teknik ceramah dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi listrik statis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran STEM-Inquiry Based Learning (SIBL) berbantuan simulasi PhET terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA kelas X pada materi sumber energi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu (quasi-experiment) desain Non-equivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas X di salah satu SMA Negeri di Garut. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, kelas X-4 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan SIBL berbantuan simulasi PhET dan kelas X-5 sebagai kelas kontrol yang diberi pembelajaran dengan metode ceramah. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes uraian kemampuan berpikir kritis yang disusun berdasarkan lima aspek Ennis, Millman, dan Tomko, yaitu klarifikasi dasar, membuat keputusan dasar, menyimpulkan, klarifikasi tingkat lanjut, dan beretorika dalam menyusun strategi, yang telah divalidasi oleh dua ahli. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk, uji homogenitas Levene, uji Independent Sample T-test dengan koreksi Satterthwaite, dan perhitungan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 64,07 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 47,41, dengan hasil uji-t menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 0,05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir kritis kedua kelas. Nilai rata-rata N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,53 (kategori sedang) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,34 (kategori sedang). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan STEM-Inquiry Based Learning berbantuan simulasi PhET berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.
