Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a multifactorial disease defined by persistent hyperglycemia and impaired carbohydrate, lipid, and protein metabolism due to a lack of insulin secretion. The objective of this study was to assess the Indonesian herbs which have the ability to act as human salivary α-amylase inhibitors, thus, that they can be implemented for medical purposes. In this study, fifteen Indonesian herbs were assessed for their capability as α-amylase inhibitor. The water-reflux method was used to extract all potential water-soluble active components. The Fuwa technique was used to test α-amylase activity. There were significant variations in the effects of herbs on salivary α-amylase activity, according to the statistical using one-way ANOVA and Post Hoc Tukey between the with and without inhibitors. According to the findings, Turmeric (Curcuma longa L.) and pandan leaf (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb) had the highest inhibitory power (80%).Keywords: Diabetes mellitus; Flavonoids; Herbs; α-amylase inhibitors

Abstract

Sensitive detection of infectious diseases is crucial for effective clinical care. However, commercial rapid tests may be limited in their ability to detect pathogen variants across different countries. It was found that the sensitivity of a chikungunya rapid test on local strain was only 20.5% as compared to the East, Central, and South Africa (ECSA) phylogroup. Therefore, the development of geographically specific diagnostics is essential. Investigating the distinctive structural properties of a locally sourced antigenic protein is an important initiative for the development of a specific antibody. This study utilized structural bioinformatics and molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the differences between the E1-E2 antigenic proteins of the Indonesian chikungunya virus (Ind-CHIKV) and that of ECSA. The results showed that some of the mutation points are located at the antibody binding sites of Ind-CHIKV. G194S and V318R mutations were proposed as distinctive features of Ind-CHIKV, leading to weaker antibody binding compared to ECSA. It suggests that modifying the antibody to accommodate bulkier side chains at positions 194 and 318 could improve its effectiveness against Ind-CHIKV. These insights are valuable for developing a highly sensitive immunoassay for Ind-CHIKV and other regional pathogens, ultimately enhancing diagnostic capabilities in Indonesia.

Abstract

 Flu burung merupakan salah satu penyakit zoonosis yang patut diwaspadai di Indonesia, khususnya galur High Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) karena dapat mematikan jika menular kepada manusia. Penggunaan vaksin influenza pada unggas, merupakan langkah preventif terhadap evolusi virus yang berbahaya dan juga penyebarannya. Selama ini, Indonesia masih menggunakan seed vaksin impor yang berasal dari luar Indonesia. Namun, karena Indonesia merupakan negara yang berada di garis khatulistiwa, karakteristik virus bisa berbeda dengan virus dari nothern-hemispere maupun southern-hemispere. Mengingat hal tersebut, Indonesia harus mengembangkan vaksin influenza menggunakan galur virus lokal. Berbeda dengan vaksin whole virus, vaksin rekombinan memiliki keunggulan dari sisi kemurnian, kecepatan produksi, dan kesesuaian galur terhadap virus yang beredar saat diperlukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sekuen hemagglutinin (HA) Indonesia dengan strain lainnya serta mengekspresikkan protein HA1 rekombinan pada Escherichia coli  BL21 (DE3). Galur yang digunakan pada studi ini berasal dari virus H5N1 (A/Indonesia/05/05), khususnya bagian domain globular dari HA1. Sekuen HA1 bervariasi antara strain Indonesia dengan nothern-hemispere maupun southern-hemispere dan merupakan protein yang terpapar ke luar virus. Gen HA1 disisipkan pada vektor pET-28a, kemudian plasmid diisolasi menggunakan meoe manniatis, setelah itu diekspresikan dengan induksi 1 mM IPTG selama 4 jam. Protein HA1 telah berhasil diekspresikan secara intraseluler dan telah dikonfirmasi pada berat molekul 40 kDa menggunakan SDS-PAGE. Penelitian ini dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan vaksin subunit yang lebih spesifik terhadap virus yang beredar di lapangan.

Abstract

The 21st century has seen rapid changes in educational practices, mainly due to technological advancements such as artificial intelligence. Especially in today's digital age, technology is essential in transforming education. One prominent innovation is the use of AI in the context of learning. This research aims to discover prospective teachers' learning processes using AI. In addition, this research seeks to determine the position of AI in learning mathematics for prospective teachers. The participants are Mathematics Education students of Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati (UGJ) Cirebon. This qualitative study uses phenomenological methods by collecting data from each research subject about experiences regarding the use of AI in solving several math problems. This research provides insight into how prospective teachers can utilize AI technology in the mathematics learning process. In addition, this research is essential because it contributes to the development of technology-based pedagogy, a significant trend in global education today. This research uses data collection methods through observation, interviews, and content. The results of this study are that 3 paradigms from previous research are in line with the theory of 3 paradigms: (1) AI-directed students as recipients, (2) AI-supported students as collaborators, and (3) AI-empowered students as leaders. Most participants in this study were collaborators in these three paradigms.

Abstract

The purpose of the literature review in this study was to thoroughly evaluate and assess the theories, signs, effects, and initiatives used to help students overcome their math anxieties. The type of research used is a literature study. This study used the systematic literature review (SLR) method. The data collection technique used is the inclusion criterion, and the data analysis technique used is exposition. Based on the findings of several studies, it is clear that mathematical anxiety negatively impacts students' learning outcomes, learning processes, and mathematical abilities, including their ability to solve math problems and other mathematical abilities. Of course, based on these studies, there is a need for efforts to overcome mathematics anxiety, both carried out by teachers and students so that the mathematics learning process can run smoothly. But not all math anxieties produce negativity. Some articles also mention that math anxiety can improve students' mathematical achievement.

Abstract

The system of linear equations of two variables is contextual material in learning mathematics. Yet, there are facts that show there are still errors and difficulties experienced by students in the problem of the system of linear equations of two variables. The research purpose is to conduct a literature review on the skills, errors, and difficulties of students on the problem of the system of linear equations of two variables. This research uses the SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method. Data collection was carried out by reviewing all articles related to math skills, errors, and difficulties of students on the problem of the system of linear equations of two variables published from 2019 to 2023. Based on the research results, it was found that students' skills to solve the problem of two-variable linear equation system was still low. Students still made many mistakes in understanding the problem and converting it into a mathematical model, carrying out the plan or process, performing calculations, and often ignoring the evaluation of the results obtained.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif nya model pembelajaran cooperative learning terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar teknik dasar permainan bola voli di sekolah. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah Systematic Literatur Review. Aplikasi harzing publish or perish digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dan database yang digunakan untuk mencari literatur yang tersedia adalah Google Scholar. Peneliti membatasi pencarian jurnal yang akan di review dengan kriteria publikasi maksimal 5 taun terakhir. Dengan mencari kriteria mencari jurnal yang terkait dengan kata kunci Bola Voli, Model Kooperative, dan Hasil Belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran cooperative memberikan pengaruh yang cukup besar terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa di dalam aktivitas permainan bola voli. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran cooperative learning ke dalam materi pembelajaran pendidikan jasmani khususnya pada materi teknik dasar permainan bola voli disekolah sangat membantu guru untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa lebih baik lagi dari segi motivasi semangat belajar siswa maupun dari segi perkembangan motorik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penggunaan model pembelajaran terhadap peningkatan teknik dasar bermain sepak bola dalam pembelajaran penjas di sekolah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode SLR (Systematic Literature Review). Pencarian literature dilakukan dengan menggunakan database digital (Google Scholar). Dengan pencarian menggunakan kata kunci model pembelajaran, sepak bola, dan Pendidikan Jasmani. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa model pembelajaran memberikan pengaruh yang sangat signifikan terhadap peningkatan teknik dasar bermain sepak bola pada pembelajaran penjas. Dapat disimpulkan dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran sebagai pendekatan yang menarik dan menyenangkan untuk meningkatkan partisipasi siswa dalam malakukan kelas penjas, meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran penjas disekolah dan untuk meningkatkan aspek afektif, kognitif, dan psikomotorik pada anak.

Abstract

This research was conducted to learn about implementing the problem-based learning model to improve critical thinking in physical education. This research study aims to analyze the impact of using problem-based learning on increasing critical thinking in physical education and its influence on the 21st century. The research method used is the Systematic Literature Review research method using a qualitative approach. The data collection used was by collecting other literature studies resulting from research in 18 examinations taken from 7 sources, which were included in a systematic review based on the quality of the sources. The results show that problem-based learning can be a practical approach for improving students' critical thinking skills. In conclusion, problem-based learning can enhance students' learning experiences, encourage critical thinking, and increase deeper understanding of concepts and facts. Abstract

Dengue merupakan penyakit menular yang masih menjadi masalah kesehatan di dunia. Manifestasi klinis infeksi dengue sulit dibedakan dengan penyakit infeksi lainnya. Uji diagnostik infeksi virus dengue yang cepat dan akurat sangat diperlukan untuk konfirmasi penyakit dan penanganan pasien yang tepat. NS1 adalah glikoprotein yang paling imunogenik dan lestari, disekresikan ke dalam aliran darah. Oleh karena itu, pemeriksaan antigen dari virus dengue NS1 telah diidentifikasi sebagai salah satu penanda spesifik dalam uji diagnostik laboratorium, yang dapat digunakan untuk mendeteksi infeksi dengue primer atau sekunder pada stadium awal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kondisi optimum ekspresi protein fusi scFv-BAD rekombinan untuk deteksi antigen NS1 virus dengue menggunakan Response Surface Method. Ekspresi protein diinduksi oleh berbagai konsentrasi IPTG (0,1, 0,5, dan 1 mM) pada beberapa suhu selama 18 jam dalam medium Luria Bertani dengan penambahan biotin. ScFv terbiotinilasi rekombinan yang dimurnikan dikarakterisasi dengan metode SDS-PAGE. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa protein fusi scFv-BAD rekombinan sebagian berada dalam bentuk terlarut dan sebagian berupa badan inklusi. Analisis Central Composite Design menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi IPTG yang sesuai untuk memproduksi protein scFv rekombinan adalah 0,5 mM pada suhu 28 ºC pada media Luria Bertani.
