Abstract

Education is an important and useful thing in improving the standard of human life; through education, participants can improve skills that lead to a changing learning process. Education in the 21st century requires a transformation of learning that fosters deeper engagement with knowledge and encourages adaptive problem-solving. One of the skills that needs to be developed in Social Studies learning is scientific thinking ability. The inquiry-based learning model is one of the student-centered learning models that sharpens thinking skills through exploration and problem-solving. Artificial intelligence is a technology that helps students in learning, so that students can easily obtain information. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted guided inquiry learning model on the scientific thinking skills of eighth-grade students at Junior High School 8 Gresik. This research uses a quantitative approach with a non-equivalent control group experimental design. Data was collected through pretests and posttests, as well as observation sheets, and then analyzed using statistical tests. The research results indicate that the application of the Artificial Intelligence-assisted guided inquiry learning model significantly impacts the improvement of students' scientific thinking abilities. This model is effective in promoting scientific inquiry, analysis, inference, and argumentation activities in social studies learning.

Abstract

oABSTRACTl This study aimslto produce learning media to improve the social character of elementary school students. Character values based on local wisdom from the Tanjung Bumi Batik motif were developed in the pictorial stories ebook media. This study uses a04D development model. (define, design,kdevelop, andddisseminate). The subjects ofhthis study were fourth grade students A as the experimental group and grade IV B students as the control group at SDN Tengket 2, Arosbaya District, Bangkalan Regency. The results of the study found that: 1.) the meaning and value of Batik Tanjung Bumi is in accordance with the implementation of ‘Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter’ (PPK) contained in Permendikbud number 20 of 2018, namely honest, hard work, peace-loving, disciplined, independent, and religious characters. 2.) pictorial stories ebook media is declared very feasible to use based on the results of material validation of 91.43% and media validation of 100%. 3.) the practicality of the comic book media was obtained by observation with a score of 92% for individual trials, 87.5% for small group trials, and 88% for field tests with very good categories. 4.) the results of the test of the effectiveness of the pictorial stories ebook media were obtained from the pretest and posttest in the experimental group and control group with a P-value (0.000) <0.05 and the difference in the N-gain score is 0.27, which indicates that the N-gain score of the experimental group is higher than the N-gain score of the control group. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the developed pictorial stories ebook media can improve the social character of the fourth grade students of SDN Tengket 2 effectively.Keywords: pictorial stories ebook media, social character education, local wisdom, Batik Tanjung Bumi

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of deliberative democracy-based learning on students' participatory capacity in history lessons among eleventh-grade students at SMKN 1 Surabaya. The research is motivated by the low level of active student engagement in classroom discussions, which tend to be dominated by a small number of individuals while the majority remain passive. A quantitative approach with an ex post facto design was employed as the methodological framework of this study. A total of 72 students from classes XI TKJ 1 and XI TKJ 2 were involved as research subjects, with data collected through questionnaire instruments and direct observation. The analysis reveals that the learning model under investigation exerts a positive and significant influence on students' participatory abilities. This is evidenced by a correlation coefficient of 0.781 with a significance level of 0.000 and a coefficient of determination of 0.610, indicating a 61% contribution to the variation in student participation. The remaining proportion is attributed to external factors beyond the variables examined in this study. Overall, deliberative democracy-based learning has been shown to foster a more dialogic and participatory learning environment, although its classroom implementation has yet to reach a fully optimal level. ABSTRAK Kajian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis demokrasi deliberatif terhadap kapasitas partisipasi peserta didik dalam mata pelajaran sejarah di kelas XI SMKN 1 Surabaya. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam forum diskusi kelas, yang cenderung didominasi segelintir individu sementara mayoritas lainnya bersikap pasif. Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain ex post facto digunakan sebagai kerangka metodologis penelitian ini. Sebanyak 72 peserta didik dari kelas XI TKJ 1 dan XI TKJ 2 dilibatkan sebagai subjek penelitian, dengan data dikumpulkan melalui instrumen angket dan observasi langsung. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran yang dikaji memberikan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpartisipasi peserta didik. Hal ini dibuktikan oleh koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,781 dengan signifikansi 0,000 serta koefisien determinasi 0,610, yang mengindikasikan kontribusi sebesar 61% terhadap variasi partisipasi siswa. Adapun sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor eksternal di luar variabel yang diteliti. Secara keseluruhan, pembelajaran berbasis demokrasi deliberatif terbukti mendorong terciptanya suasana belajar yang lebih dialogis dan partisipatif, meskipun implementasinya di kelas belum berlangsung secara sepenuhnya optimal.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Effective communication plays an important role in creating interactive and participatory history learning. However, students’ ability to engage in rational, critical, and equitable discussions has not yet developed optimally, while studies examining the relationship between teachers’ communication styles and students’ communicative rationality in vocational high school history learning remain limited. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between history teachers’ assertive communication styles and the participation of communicative rationality among eleventh-grade students in public vocational high schools in Sidoarjo Regency. The study employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design involving 180 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test and simple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics. The results revealed a positive and significant relationship between history teachers’ assertive communication styles and students’ participation in communicative rationality, with a moderate level of correlation and a coefficient of determination of 32.1%, while the remaining 67.9% was influenced by factors beyond the scope of this study. The study concludes that history teachers’ assertive communication styles serve as an important foundation for fostering interactive learning; however, their effectiveness requires support from dialogic teaching methods and a psychologically safe classroom environment. ABSTRAK Komunikasi yang efektif berperan penting dalam menciptakan pembelajaran sejarah yang interaktif dan partisipatif. Namun, kemampuan peserta didik untuk terlibat dalam diskusi yang rasional, kritis, dan setara masih belum berkembang secara optimal, sementara penelitian yang mengkaji hubungan gaya komunikasi guru dengan rasionalitas komunikatif peserta didik dalam pembelajaran sejarah di SMK masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan antara gaya komunikasi asertif guru sejarah dan partisipasi rasionalitas komunikatif peserta didik kelas XI SMK Negeri di Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain ex post facto yang melibatkan 180 peserta didik melalui purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan angket skala Likert dan dianalisis dengan uji korelasi Product Moment Pearson serta regresi linier sederhana menggunakan IBM SPSS Statistics. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara gaya komunikasi asertif guru sejarah dan partisipasi rasionalitas komunikatif peserta didik dengan tingkat hubungan kategori sedang serta kontribusi determinasi sebesar 32,1% sementara 67,9% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa gaya komunikasi asertif guru sejarah menjadi fondasi penting dalam membangun pembelajaran yang interaktif, namun pengembangannya tetap membutuhkan dukungan metode pembelajaran yang dialogis serta iklim kelas yang aman secara psikologis.
