Abstract

ABSTRACT Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus through the bite of the Aedes mosquito, especially Aedes aegypti . Dengue fever is the fastest growing mosquito-borne disease in the world. Tropical and sub-tropical climate countries are at high risk of transmission of the virus. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the epidemiological determinants of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in Indonesia. The method used in this research is a literature review using a comprehensive strategy by collecting articles through searches in several databases, namely Google Scholar, using the following keywords: "online media" and "Epidemiology". The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis where the research results from the articles found will be explained one by one.. Research results show that the majority of dengue fever cases occur in the 5–14 year age group. The age group 12 years. This is because this age group has a lower immune system compared to older age groups and most of their daily activities are carried out at school, thereby increasing the risk of being bitten by a mosquito that transmits dengue fever due to the nature of the Aedes aegypti mosquito sucking the blood of more than one person. The advice I can give in this research is that we should be able to prevent dengue fever as early as possible by always cleaning the surrounding environment. Keywords: Epidemiology, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Malaria and anemia are the main underlying factors for illness in children. Malaria is a cause of death and illness, especially in children under 5 years of age. A total of 214 million populations affected by clinical malaria were reported in 2018 and caused 438,000 deaths, most of them are children in Africa. The purpose of this study was to assess the association between malaria and anemia in children. This study uses a literature review approach regarding research Google and Google Scholar are used as the main source of databases accessed on October 09, 2023 to extract research published in English that addresses the foreign context. With keywords combination: "Malaria", "anemia", "children", "Overseas" which are used to search for articles. The writer observed several studies published during 2014-2023. ound that malaria has excellent potential for sufferers of anemia because malaria attacks red blood cells. So it was concluded malaria is an essential correlation of anemia on children. A global health strategy to reduce the burden of anemia must prioritize malaria prevention. It is hoped that this article can help readers in strengthening malaria control and antenatal care services, and building malaria community outreach programs, estimating the influence of hematological characteristics on in vitro parasite growth rates. Abstract

ABSTRACT The situation of persons with disabilities as a vulnerable group experiences many abuses of their rights. Among these are the right to obtain health services and work. People with disabilities experience a lot of discrimination in fulfilling their rights. Discrimination in fulfilling these rights makes life difficult for people with disabilities. Therefore, they need health and job guarantees from the government to guarantee their lives. Currently, the number of people with disabilities in Indonesia has reached 22.97 million people or around 8.5% of Indonesia's population, with the highest number of people with disabilities in old age. The living conditions of people with disabilities are also still worrying, considering that the majority are still in families whose living needs are not met (poor). This research aims to collect and analyze articles related to protecting the rights to health and employment security for people with disabilities. The design used is a literature review, where articles are collected using the Google Scholar database. The criteria for articles used are those published in 2016-2023. Based on the articles collected, the results show that the government has implemented the protection of the rights to health insurance and employment for people with disabilities. However, its implementation is still less than optimal. Keywords: Disability, Health, Employment Guarantees, Protection of Rights

Abstract

Excessive caffeine consumption among university students can lead to negative health effects such as sleep disturbances, anxiety, and dependency. To address this issue, a workshop was conducted to introduce infused water as a healthier alternative to caffeinated beverages among students at the Faculty of Public Health, Halu Oleo University. The program aimed to increase awareness about the benefits of infused water in supporting hydration and energy levels naturally, without caffeine's side effects. The workshop utilized three methods: lectures, practical training, and informational leaflets. Lectures provided insights into the adverse effects of excessive caffeine intake and highlighted infused water's benefits, including improved hydration and detoxification. Practical training allowed participants to create infused water using natural ingredients such as lemon and cucumber, fostering hands-on engagement and encouraging immediate application of the knowledge gained. Leaflets were distributed to reinforce the material and served as a take-home guide for participants to share with others. Evaluation of the program showed a significant improvement in students' knowledge about the health risks of caffeine and their interest in adopting infused water as an alternative. Positive feedback indicated that the materials were informative and practical for daily use. Despite challenges such as limited time for practical demonstrations, the workshop successfully achieved its objectives of promoting healthier beverage choices and equipping students with practical skills to support long-term behavior change. This program demonstrates the potential of integrating educational and interactive methods to encourage healthier lifestyle habits, positioning students as agents of change within their communities.
