Abstract

This research aims to describe metacognitive skills of climber students in solving mathematic problems in class VIII junior high school. The subject of research isthree climber students of Junior High School 3 Purworejo. The research method used qualitative with the form of phenomenological research. The subject of research is climber students of Junior High School 3 Purworejo. The research instrument is an Adversity Quotient questionnaire, mathematic troubleshooting test, and interviews. Data collection techniques are conducted by collecting data from writing test and interview with students. The results showed that climber students planning skills at the stage of understanding problems and planning problem solving is aware in predicting the knowledge of materials needed and have the thoroughness in digging information that is important in the matter, aware of the plan used and able to realize the relationship with the problems that ever worked. Climber students monitoring skills on the stage of implementing a solving plan, students are aware in the process of solving questions and aware that previous strategies can assist in solving the problem, students also aware and confident with the results of his work. Mean while, climber students evaluation skills realize that the results are correct, but students not realize that there are other strategies that can solve the problem.

Abstract

This study was used to determine the effect of social competence and the ability to compile learning devices on pedagogical and professional competencies of students in the Mathematics Education Study Program. This research leads to the problem of social competence towards pedagogic and professional competence, the ability to develop learning tools towards pedagogic and professional competence. This type of research is associative quantitative. The research was carried out in high school / vocational high school as a place for students of Mathematics Education Study Program FKIP Muhammadiyah University Purworejo 2019/2020. The sample used in this study was 32 students. The method of data collection uses documentation of the value of apprenticeship 1, 2 and 3. Data processing techniques use product moment correlation test and simple regression analysis. As a prerequisite test, normality and homogeneity tests were performed. For the requirements analysis, a significance test and linearity test were performed. The results of this study are (1) there is a positive and significant influence between social competencies on pedagogical and professional competencies; (2) there is a positive and significant influence between the ability to compile learning devices on pedagogical and professional competence

Abstract

The aim of the research is to describe students creative thinking in solving mathematical problems during the pandemic Covid 19. The type of this research is descriptive research with a phenomenological approach. A subject chosen by using purposive technique. The subject of research consisting from 2 students with high ability. Data collection techniques using test, interviews, and field notes. The research instrument was in the form of student’s creative thinking test on geometry material and interview guidelines. The validity of data with triangulation technique. The result of this research is student with high ability have creative thinking level 3 (creative). The student were able indicator fluency and flexibility. Indicator of fluency is characterized by ability of students to provide answers that are diverse and is true. While, the indicator of flexibility is characterized by ability of students to use different methods or approaches in solving mathematical problem and is true value.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to determine the level of critical thinking of students in solving open ended mathematics problem. This type of research is qualitative. The subjects of this study were 3 students of class VIII who had been chosen purposively is students with high mathematical abilities. Data Validity Test uses triangulation techniques. Data collection techniques using critical thinking test questions. The results showed that students with high mathematical abilities reached level 3 in critical thinking.

Abstract

Reasoning is needed in everyday life. One of the subjects that uses reasoning is mathematics. Mathematics trains a person's reasoning abilities. Mathematical deductive reasoning ability is a characteristic of mathematics itself. However, today educators tend to teach mathematics in other ways that make it difficult for students to interpret real mathematics. It is as if mathematics stands alone. Meanwhile, mathematics is born from everyday human life. In the end, many people don't like math. Therefore, this study aims to describe the mathematical deductive reasoning abilities possessed by prospective mathematics teachers. The material used is geometry. The subjects in this study were students of mathematics education in the academic year 20117/2018. Data collection techniques used observation, mathematical deductive reasoning ability test results, interview results, and field notes. The analysis technique used is in the form of data reduction, data presentation, and documentation study. Based on the results of research and discussion, prospective teachers' mathematical deductive reasoning abilities on geometry material are classified as high-level mathematical thinking skills and have been able to achieve all indicators of mathematical deductive reasoning abilities. It was also found that students were able to visualize images according to the information obtained.

Abstract

Guru sebagai unsur yang dominan dalam proses belajar mengajar diarahkan untuk meningkatkan kualifikasi, kompetensi dan profesionalisme. Oleh karena itu guru tidak hanya bertugas mengajar dalam arti memberi dan mentranformasikan ilmu kepada siswa, melainkan terus meningkatkan kualitas diri sebagai guru. Sedangkan praktiknya di kelas, masih terdapat guru yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran klasik, terkadang guru juga kurang up to date terhadap perubahan zaman dan kemajuan, ilmu pengetahuan, serta teknologi. Ditinjau dari permasalahan tersebut, workshop dan pelatihan metode pembelajaran merupakan sebuah solusi bagi para guru untuk meningkatkan profesionalitasnya, agar lebih optimal peranannya sebagai guru sesuai dengan tugas dan fungsinya. Selain itu, juga sebagai strategi yang dapat digunakan oleh guru agar dapat melaksanakan proses pengajaran dengan lancar dan efektif. Workshop dan pelatihan metode pembelajaran juga mempunyai kekuatan yang cukup besar dalam rangka menghadapi problematika ataupun tantangan dari perkembangan zaman yang semakin kompleks dan persaingan tenaga kerja yang semakin ketat. Pelaksanaan kegiatan secara keseluruhan berjalan dengan lancar sesuai dengan rencana yang telah dikonsepkan. Dari workshop dan pelatihan yang disampaikan, diharapkan dapat memberikan penambahan wawasan pengetahuan dan informasi kepada guru di SMA Negeri 1 Petanahan, Kebumen tentang metode-metode pembelajaran, agar para guru lebih mampu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang efektif dan lebih mampu mengelola kelasnya sehingga hasil belajar siswa berada pada tingkat yang optimal.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the student's intuition characteristics in solving mathematical problems in the cognitive style Field Dependent (FD) and Field Independent (FI). Source of data comes from students taken with a purposive technique. Data collection techniques using tests, field notes, and interviews. The data validity inspection technique used triangulate technique. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of the study concluded that: students with a Field Dependent (FD) cognitive style used intuition with direct, self-evident, extrampolativeness, intrinsic certainly, coerciveness, and conclusive characteristics. While students with Field Independent (FI) cognitive style use intuition with direct, extrampolativeness, self-evident, intrinsic certainly, coerciveness, and conclusive characteristics. In addition, there are also characteristics that are not found in Field Dependent students, there are globality and one of the anticipatory intuition characteristics (trying hard to solve problems).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir komputasional siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Teknik pengambilan subjek pada penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling dan snowball sampling. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Purworejo dengan kemampuan tinggi yang sudah memperoleh materi pola bilangan. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu dengan menggunakan tes, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan kemampuan tinggi telah mampu menyelesaikan soal masalah matematika dengan memuat aspek berpikir komputasional. Aspek yang termuat yaitu dekomposisi masalah, pengenalan pola, abstraksi, dan berpikir algoritma. Berpikir algoritma dilakukan dari awal hingga akhir. Langkah pertama yang dilakukan oleh siswa yaitu melakukan dekomposisi masalah, namun telah didahului berpikir algoritma dalam menentukan kegiatan dekomposisi masalah yang akan dilakukan oleh siswa. Sedangkan, abstraksi berlangsung sejak siswa melakukan dekomposisi masalah dengan langkah mengubah masalah matematika menjadi model matematika. Setelah dekomposisi masalah, muncul pengenalan pola yang mana langkah pengenalan pola ini tidak sepenuhnya dilakukan secara tertulis.

Abstract

Pembelajaran online telah banyak diterapkan di kelas semenjak merebaknya pandemi COVID-19 dengan berbagai strateginya, salah satunya melalui pembelajaran kolaborasi. Banyak penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran online mampu digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah, khususnya matematika. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan telaah kajian sistematik mengenai proses pembelajaran kolaborasi online pada pemecahan masalah matematika. Penelitian ini mengkaji 12 artikel hasil penyaringan dari data base Scopus, Google Scholar, dan PubMed dengan prosedur PRISMA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan keterampilan pemecahan masalah sangat memungkinkan untuk ditangani melalui pembelajaran kolaborasi online. Secara garis besar, efektifitas pembelajaran kolaborasi online untuk meningkatkan pemecahan masalah sangat ditentukan oleh strategi pembelajaran yang digunakan.Online learning has been widely implemented in the classroom since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic with various strategies, one of which is through collaborative learning. Many studies show that online learning can be used to improve problem solving skills, especially mathematics. Thus, this study aims to conduct a systematic review of the process of online collaborative learning in solving mathematical problems. This study examines 12 articles that were screened from the Scopus, Google Scholar, and PubMed databases using the PRISMA procedure. The results of the study show that it is very possible to increase problem solving skills to be handled through online collaborative learning. In general, the effectiveness of online collaborative learning to improve problem solving is largely determined by the learning strategy used.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan strategi bernalar logis dan melihat sudut pandang lain untuk menyelesaikan masalah Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variable (SPLDV) dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMPN Purworejo yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir tingkat sedang. Instrumen penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti, soal tes berpikir tingkat tinggi, pedoman wawancara, dan catatan lapangan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan/ verifikasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah siswa mampu menggunakan strategi pemecahan masalah bernalar logis dan melihat sudut pandang lain, serta kedua strategi tersebut terbukti dapat digunakan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan non rutin matematika khususnya pada materi SPLDV.
