Abstract

The main objective of this study is to evaluate and analyze the determinants of firm value, as well as to examine the mediating role of capital structure in the relationship between business risk, growth opportunities, and institutional ownership on firm value. The study focuses on manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period from 2019 to 2023. The research sample comprises 104 companies selected purposively based on specific criteria relevant to the objectives of the study. To analyze both the direct and indirect relationships among the examined variables, the study employs path analysis as the analytical method. The findings of the study indicate that business risk has a negative effect on firm value. Conversely, growth opportunities and institutional ownership are found to have a positive impact on firm value. In addition, capital structure exhibits a significant positive effect on firm value. A key contribution of this study is the identification of capital structure as a significant mediating variable that strengthens the influence of business risk, growth opportunities, and institutional ownership on firm value. This study reveals that capital structure plays a dominant mediating role in the relationship between business risk, growth opportunities, and institutional ownership and firm value. The integrative model proposed in this research offers a novel perspective by positioning capital structure as a strategic mechanism for value creation. These findings contribute to the theoretical understanding of firm value determination, particularly within the context of emerging markets during the post-crisis period of 2019–2023.

Abstract

Gingivitis is an oral health disease characterized by inflammation of the gingival tissue that appears reddish. One way to prevent and treat gingivitis is to use mouthwash. Green tea herbal mouthwash is used to treat gingivitis. Green tea is known to have antimicrobial activity that causes gingivitis. The increase in public knowledge about green tea mouthwash increased by 41%. This shows public understanding of the benefits of green tea mouthwash for preventing gingivitis and the economic value of green tea herbal mouthwash products.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of self-efficacy, work discipline, and compensation on employee performance through work motivation in textile and garment companies in West Java. Methodology/approach: The method used in this study is descriptive quantitative. The population in this study is unknown, with a sample size of 370 respondents. The data used in this study are primary and secondary. The analytical tools used in this study include SmartPLS. The tests conducted in this study include Validity Test, Reliability Test, Inner Model, Outer Model, and Hypothesis Testing. Results/findings: The results of the study conducted on Textile and Garment Companies in West Java are as follows: 1) Self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on motivation; 2) Work discipline has no effect and is not significant on motivation; 3) Compensation has no effect and is not significant on motivation; 4) Self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; 5) Work discipline has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; 6) Compensation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; 7) Motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; 8) Self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on employee performance through motivation; 9) Work discipline does not have a positive and significant effect on employee performance through motivation; and 10) Compensation does not have a positive and significant effect on employee performance through motivation. Conclusions: The study concludes that self-efficacy significantly enhances both work motivation and employee performance, with motivation acting as a mediating factor. Work discipline directly improves performance but does not significantly affect motivation. Compensation shows no significant effect on either motivation or performance. Work motivation itself has a strong positive impact on performance. Indirectly, only self-efficacy improves performance via motivation, while work discipline and compensation do not demonstrate such mediation.. Limitations: This study is limited to Employee Performance and Work Motivation. Contribution: This study contributes to the understanding of factors that influence employee performance, focusing on factors such as self-efficacy, work discipline, compensation, and work motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the correlation between Self-Regulated Learning Strategies (SRLS) and Students’ English Achievement. The knowledge and application of SRLS will significantly influence learners academic achievement due to their autonomously participation and involvement in regulating their own learning. Research methodology used is descriptive quantitative study with 100 participants from grade first high school students, collected using random sampling technique. Data was collected through questionnaires and English proficiency test. The result of this study shows that there is positive correlation between SRLS and Students’ English Achievement. Students who have better knowledge and use SRLS in their study are getting better achievement in English test because of their responsibility in learning. The refore, it is important for teachers to apply SRLS in the teaching and learning process to increase and foster the students’ implementation of SRLS in their learning.

Abstract

New students admission (PMB) is a routine activities for education institution. Therefore, it was necessary for the institution to be aware of the mechanism of PMB to produce competent and qualified prospective students. Forecasting of PMB needed to predict the number of students and to prepare the institution infrastucture facilities to welcome the new freshmen. The research discussed the determination of forecasting number of Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika PSDKU Karawang students by using time series forecasting with three different method: moving everage, exponential smoothing and trend analysis. It also compare Mean Absolute Presentage Error (MAPE) calculated by QM for Windows. The result of the research showed that trend analysis was the most effective method which had 41.84 MAD, 2324.28 MAD, 4.99 % of MAPE and 557 students for next forecasting. The conclussion from data analysis processing showed that Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika should provide all of infrastructure facilities for the teaching and learning process with the number of 557 students in 2020.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the students’ reading comprehension using pictures in Collaborative Learning. The method used is descriptive quantitative. The data is taken from the results of pretest and post test to seventh grade students of SMP 267 Jakarta. Both the average results of pretest and post test and the statistical analysis using SPSS 17 shows that there is a significant improvement of the use of pictures in Collaborative Learning. Pictures as the media of teaching stimulates the students interest and also motivate them to read more; they become familiar with the expected reading text by relating it with the pictures and their previous knowledge. To get more better result, the Collaborative Learning as the teaching method is applicated to sharpen the students’ collaboration in group learning, so they can share ideas and opinions to solve the problems they get in understanding and comprehending the reading text.

Abstract

The use of interesting educational media will facilitate student understanding and motivate student to improve learning effectiveness. Caries Castle Box is used as an educational media for the introduction of dental caries combined with games. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of Caries Castle Box educational media from the perspective of kindergarten teachers and entrepreneurship. This type of research was descriptive with a qualitative approach with a research design using feasibility study approach. Taking test subjects using non probability sampling, precisely purposive sampling, which is based on researcher considerations. The test subject included 2 material experts, 2 media experts, entrepreneurship expert and user responses, that are 3 kindergarten teachers. The assessment conducted by experts assessed that this media is feasible to be tested, the assessement of the user response, that are 3 kindergarten teachers, assessed that this educational media is considered effective and feasible to use for early childhood. The results of this study indicate that the Caries Castle Box educational media is feasible in terms of entrepreneurial aspects and is declared very feasible to be used as educational media for early childhood to recognize the world of dental health, especially dental caries.

Abstract

Introduction: Down syndrome is a genetic disorder experienced by individuals due to an excess of one chromosome in the body cells as the 21st chromosome. This trisomy 21 will result in changes in physical characteristics thus affecting the dental and oral health problems of the patient. This study was a quasi-experimental study aimed to determine the effect of using the dental and oral health book on the knowledge and skills of parents with Down Syndrome children in carrying out the children’s dental and oral health care. Methods: The study design was one group pre-post test with an intervention in the form of reading a book. The sample was 36 parents of Down Syndrome children who were members of the POTADS (Persatuan Orang Tua Anak dengan Down Syndrome/Association of Parents with Down Syndrome Children) in Bandung. The statistical test used was the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Result: The results showed that parents' knowledge of their Down Syndrome children’s dental and oral health care and conditions were increased after reading educational books (from (4.44 ± 1.362) and (7.47 ± 2,274) respectively, into (6.69 ± 0.856) and (9.00 ± 1,394) respectively; p < 0.05). The skills of parents on performing Down Syndrome children’s dental and oral health care were also increased, from (5.00 ± 2.014) into (8.03 ± 1.134); p < 0.05. Conclusion: The book of Down Syndrome children’s dental and oral health increased parental knowledge regarding the dental and oral health care and condition of Down Syndrome children. The book also improved the parental skills in carrying out the Down Syndrome children’s dental and oral health care.Keywords: Parental skills, book, parental knowledge, Down Syndrome, Trisomy 21.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how the “ holy concept of auditing” which consists of independence as a “state of affairs” and objectivity as a “state of mind” can improve auditor performance and audit quality. To explain these two things, this study proposes a mediation model that identifies how objectivity mediates between independence and auditor performance, how objectivity mediates between independence and audit quality, and how simultaneously objectivity and auditor performance mediate between independence and audit quality. The research method used is a survey method, namely: a research method that collects data by distributing questionnaires to samples that are used as respondents. The sampling technique was proportionate stratified random sampling, so that from 461 auditors who became the population of 27 Regency/City Inspectorates in West Java, 210 respondents would be sampled. The analysis tool uses Covariance Based Structural Equation Modeling (CBSEM) with the help of SmartPLS software version 3.0. The results of the study prove that: objectivity perfectly mediates between independence and auditor performance, objectivity perfectly mediates between independence and audit quality, and simultaneously objectivity and auditor performance perfectly mediates between independence and audit quality. Abstract

Kemampuan leadership merupakan elemen kunci dalam mendorong efektivitas dan daya saing organisasi. Berbagai faktor memengaruhi pengembangan kepemimpinan, di antaranya adalah pengorganisasian, pengawasan, budaya organisasi, dan pelatihan. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara sistematis literatur yang membahas pengaruh keempat variabel tersebut terhadap kemampuan leadership. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan systematic literature review, sebanyak 24 artikel dari jurnal nasional dan internasional terpilih berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi tertentu. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pengorganisasian yang efektif menciptakan struktur kerja yang jelas dan mendukung fungsi kepemimpinan. Pengawasan berkontribusi dalam membentuk disiplin dan peningkatan kinerja tim. Budaya organisasi membentuk nilai dan norma yang memperkuat perilaku kepemimpinan, sedangkan pelatihan secara signifikan meningkatkan kompetensi teknis dan soft skills kepemimpinan. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa keempat faktor tersebut perlu dikelola secara integratif guna menciptakan kepemimpinan yang efektif dan berkelanjutan. Implikasi praktis dari temuan ini mendorong organisasi untuk merancang strategi pengembangan kepemimpinan yang menyeluruh dan kontekstual. Kajian ini juga merekomendasikan adanya penelitian lanjutan berbasis kuantitatif untuk menguji model empiris dari keterkaitan antarvariabel tersebut.
