Prioritization of health problems was carried out qualitatively using the Focus Group Discussion method with USG (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) criteria scoring. The nine highest health problems found were the low number of couples who did not use contraception, low infant weight, itching, hypertension, national health insurance, smoking behavior, kitchen waste disposal, garbage sorting, and eradication of mosquito nests. The results of the Focus Group Discussion agreed that the priority of health problems in Teladan hamlet is the low behavior of waste sorting, so that interventions are carried out in the form of counseling and provision of facilities and infrastructure in the form of garbage cans in some public places in order to increase public knowledge and community behavior in sorting waste. Efforts that can be made by local governments are to support and supervise the community to implement good and correct waste sorting and processing behavior in a sustainable manner

Abstract

The New Habit Adaptation (AKB) policy issued by Indonesian government is a form for implementing the new normal order during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has not been optimally implemented, especially for adolescents. Several studies and current observations showed that adolescents were still not adherent to implementing health protocols. This study, therefore, aims to analyze the link between knowledge, attitudes, and AKB adolescent practice in North Sumatra. A quantitative study with cross-sectional design was applied for this research involving 246 adolescents spread over 6 (six) working areas of Primary Health Care (Puskesmas) who was determined by purposive sampling. Data were collected using an online questionnaire which has been tested for validity and reliability, then data were analyzed descriptively by cross-tabulation and associatively by chi-square. The results showed the behavior of implementing AKB practice by adolescents was high (60.2%), knowledge was in the high category (92.7%) and adolescent attitudes were also positively supportive (90.7%). In addition, the significance test showed that there was a link between attitude and practice (p = 0.030; POR = 2.574). However, no link appeared to exist between knowledge and practice. This research contributes for developing of AKB policy outreach interventions by stakeholders and efforts to involve youth groups in the participatory achievement of AKB policy.

Abstract

Based on a preliminary study in February 2022 at the Medan Sunggal Primary Health Care (PHC), some PHC employees had inadequate work discipline. They did not comply with working hours. In addition, employee absence increased in the last three months of 2022. In addition, 10% of them still did not obey the regulation, such as not wearing uniforms and using sandals at work. This research analyzes the correlation between the leadership roles of the head of PHC and work discipline in PHC employees. This paper was quantitative research using a descriptive-analytic approach with a cross-sectional study design. The population was all employees working at the Medan Sunggal PHC. There were 43 respondents with the total sampling method. The dependent variable was work discipline in PHC employees. Meanwhile, the independent variable was the leadership roles of the head of PHC, with sub-variables communication, direction and guidance, supervision, motivation, and rewards. The instrument utilized a questionnaire. Data analysis used Spearman rank correlation statistical tests with α=0.05. Communication, direction, and guidance were strongly associated with work discipline, with p-value each 0.000 and 0.000. Supervision had a weak correlation with work discipline with p=0.000. However, motivation and awards negatively correlated with p-value sequentially 0.000 and 0.006. The leadership roles of the head of PHC are associated with work discipline in PHC employees. The head of PHC should perform well in communication, direction and guidance, supervision, motivation, and awarding to improve work discipline in employees.

Abstract

Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a type of coronavirus that was only discovered in 2020. This virus and the disease were previously unknown before it broke out in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. WHO declared the Covid-19 pandemic on March 11, 2020, in which one of the countries affected was Indonesia. The number of positive cases of Covid-19 in North Sumatra until August 2020 was 5,898 people, of whom 2,833 people recovered and 260 died. In Binjai City, there were 104 positive cases of Covid-19 by the end of August 2020, of whom 28  people recovered and 10 died. This study, therefore, aims to determine the overview of efforts living healthy (PHBS) towards New Norm (AKB) in Binjai Barat District, Sukaramai Village. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used for this research. In-depth interviews, observation and documentation were conducted for data collection from 5 informants, namely the person who lives in Sukaramai Village with a total population of 9,268 people. This study found the people of West Binjai city have good behaviour towards the New Norm. These were evidenced by the information of several informants and the relatively low number of Covid-19 case. Based on the results of research in the field on community behaviour which includes knowledge, benefits, and attitudes of PHBS, it can be concluded overall that residents have appropriate attitudes and support for living healthy (PHBS).
