Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan proses literasi matematis dikaji dari content space and shape dalam materi geometri pada siswa kelas X MIA 1 SMAN 6 Pontianak tahun pelajaran 2015/2016. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 6 siswa. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa proses literasi matematis pada aspek komunikasi, siswa cenderung belum lancar dalam mengemukakan hasil pemikiran dan terhambat dalam memaparkan langkah penyelesaian dengan benar. Dilihat dari aspek representasi, sebagian besar siswa dapat menyajikan masalah kontekstual ke dalam bentuk gambar. Dilihat dari aspek penalaran dan argumentasi, siswa cenderung mampu memberikan pernyataan logis dilengkapi dengan alasan dan gambar sehingga diperoleh kesimpulan yang beralasan. Dilihat dari aspek perencanaan strategi memecahkan masalah, siswa masih kesulitan untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang prosedur penyelesaiannya memerlukan perencanaan penyelesaian, tidak sekedar menggunakan rumus.   Kata kunci: Proses Literasi Matematis, Space and Shape, Geometri   Abstract: The purpose of this research is to explain the mathematics literacy process reviewed from the content space and shape on the geometry subject at the tenth grade of MIA 1 students of SMAN 6 Pontianak in academic year 2015/2016. The research method used is descriptive research with case study. The subject of this research is six students. The result of analyzing data indicated that mathematics literacy process in communication aspect, the students are not disposed in supposing their thought result and disturb when represent the step of solution correctly. In representation aspect, most of the students can present the contextual problem in the form of picture. In reasoning and argumentation aspects, the students are able in giving the logical expression  which is completed by reason and picture until getting the reasonable conclusion. In problem solving strategy planning aspect, the students still face difficulty in solving the problems which needs procedur solution and planning solution, not only by using the formula.   Keywords: Mathematics Literacy Process, Space and Shape, Geometry

Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesuliatn-kesulitan yang dialami siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal luas permukan bangun ruang di SMP Kristen Maranatha, khususnya materi Kubus. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan bentuk studi kasus dimana peneliti menganalisis dan melakukan pengamatan secara langsung pada subjek yang menjadi sumber data penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukan siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam konsep dan prinsip matematika yang menyebabkan kesalahan dalam menjawab soal yang hal tersebut dapat mempengaruhi nilai siswa. Hal tersebut sejalan dengan Cooney yang menjelaskan kesulitan siswa dalam konsep dan prinsip dalam menyelesaikan soal.Kata Kunci : Kesulitan, Siswa, Luas Permukaan SBangun Ruang

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelancaran prosedural siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal persamaan kuadrat di kelas X SMKN 2 Pontianak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 33 siswa kelas X Teknik Elektronika Industri SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik pengukuran dan komunikasi langsung. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kelancaran prosedural siswa khususnya pada materi menyelesaikan persamaan kuadrat masih rendah, kebanyakan siswa belum mampu menyelesaikan soal secara fleksibelitas, efisiensi dan akurasi Kata Kunci: Kelancaran Prosedural, Fleksibelitas, Efisiensi, Akurasi Abstract: The purpose of this research is to explain procedural fluency of students in solving the problem of quadratic equations at SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak. The method research that used is descriptive method in case study research’s. The subject of the research are students grade of X Teknik Elekronika Industri SMKN 2 Pontianak. The technique of collection data used measurement and direct communication technique. The result of data analysis shows that the procedural fluency of students was still low, mostly students unable to solve the problem with flexibility, efficiency and accuracy. Keywords: Procedural Fluency, Flexibility, Efficiency, Accuracy

Abstract

AbstractThis research is aimed to describe students? mathematical connections ability viewed from cognitive style on rectangular material in Junior High School 23 Pontianak. The research method is descriptive with case study. The subject of this research are four students grade VIII E consist of two field dependent cognitive style students and two field independent cognitive style students. The results of this research are the field independent cognitive style students has a better mathematical connections ability than the field dependent cognitive style students. One of the field dependent cognitive style students able to fulfilled three indicators of mathematical connections and one of other the field dependent cognitive style students not able to fulfilled the indicators of mathematical connections. Meanwhile one of the field independent cognitive style students able to fulfilled three indicators of mathematical connections and one of other the field independent cognitive style students able to fulfilled two indicators of mathematical connections.Keywords: Mathematical Connections Ability, Cognitive Style, Rectangular

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kesulitan belajar dan faktor-faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Kakap pada materi bangun ruang sisi lengkung. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik triangulasi. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh informasi bahwa siswa tidak mampu: 1) memberikan nama bagian tabung dan unsur-unsur kerucut. 2) mengingat rumus luas dan volume tabung, kerucut, dan bola. 3) menggunakan rumus luas dan volume tabung, kerucut, dan bola untuk menyelesaikan masalah. Hal ini disebabkan karena: a) siswa tidak pernah tertarik dengan bangun ruang sisi lengkung. b) guru tidak menggunakan alat peraga pada saat mengajar materi bangun ruang sisi lengkung. c) metode yang digunakan guru kurang bervariasi, guru hanya menjelaskan materi kemudian memberikan soal latihan. d) siswa tidak memperhatikan penjelasan guru sehingga mengalami kesulitan memahami materi. e) jika menemui kesulitan saat mengerjakan soal, siswa lebih memilih diam tanpa berusaha untuk mencari tahu.   Kata Kunci: Kesulitan Belajar, Bangun Ruang, Sisi Lengkung Abstract: The purpose of this research is to describe the difficulties in learning and the factors that cause of it to the 9th Grade students  of SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Kakap on material with curved edge. The method used descriptive method.  The data collection technique is using the technique of triangulation. From the results of the research were obtained the information that the students are not be able to: 1) giving the name of tube sections and the elements of the cone. 2) remind the formula for the area and the volume of the tube, cone and the ball. 3) using the formula for the area and volume tubes, cones and balls to resolve the problem. This is because: a) students are never interested with curved edge. b) teachers are not using a props when teaching material with curved edge. c) the method which used by the teacher less varied, the teachers only explain the material and then provide practice questions. d) students do not pay attention to the teacher's explanations so they have difficulty to understanding the material. e) if they have a problems during work on the tasks, students prefer to silence without trying to find out the answers. Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the application of the student teams achievement divisions type of cooperative learning model on function material in the 8th grade SMPN 07 Paloh. The research method was experiment and the form of was pre-experimental design with one shot case study. 28 students of 8th A SMPN 07 Paloh were taken as the research samples. Indicators used to determine the effectiveness of learning using the student teams achievement divisions type of cooperative learning model are : implementation of learning, student’s learning activity, student’s learning outcomes, and student’s responses. Data collection techniques used are documentation techniques, measurement techniques, observation techniques, and indirect communication techniques. The data collection tools are, the implementation of learning observation sheet, the student’s learning activity observation sheet, the student’s learning outcomes test and student’s responses questionnaire. The result of data analysis showed that the implementation of learning are classified as good, the student’s learning activity is active, student’s learning outcomes completeness achieved classically, and students provide a positive responses to learning. The application of the student teams achievement divisions type of cooperative learning model on function material in the 8 th grade SMPN 07 Paloh is effective. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk kesulitan dan faktor penyebab kesulitan siswa tentang koneksi matematis dalam operasi hitung bentuk aljabar di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Pontianak. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian studi kasus. Subjek penelitian adalah 23 siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Pontianak yang mengalami kesulitan tentang koneksi matematis dalam operasi hitung bentuk aljabar. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan tentang koneksi matematis yang banyak terjadi  adalah menghubungkan bentuk aljabar dengan unsur dasarnya dan menghubungkan konsep operasi hitung bentuk aljabar dengan konsep operasi hitung penjumlahan, pengurangan, dan perkalian. Kesulitan tentang koneksi matematis disebabkan oleh faktor-faktor berikut: (1) kurang memahami unsur bentuk aljabar; (2) kurang memahami konsep penjumlahan; (3) kurang memahami konsep pengurangan; (4) kurang memahami konsep perkalian; dan (5) kurang memahami sifat bilangan.   Kata kunci: kesulitan siswa, koneksi matematis, bentuk aljabar Abstract: This research aims to determine the kind of difficulties and the factors that cause the students difficulties about mathematics connection in algebraic expression of 8th grade students at SMP Negeri 8 Pontianak. The methods that used is descriptive methods with a case study expression. Subjects were twenty three (23) person of eighth grade students who have difficulty in mathematical connections about algebra expression arithmetic operations. The result of data analysis show that the difficulties mostly happens in connecting algebra expression with the bassical element, and in connecting algebra expression arithmetic operations concepts. The difficulties caused by factors are: (1) not really understand the bassical element of algebra expression; (2) not really understand of addition concept; (3) not really understand of reduction concept; (4) not really understand of multiplication concept; and (5) not really understand of number properties. Abstract

AbstractThe quality of students' understanding in Pythagorean material is still low. This is because in teaching too concentrated on procedural matters, calculating counting, formula memorization, and giving low attention to the process of obtaining the concept of procedure or formula. The present research aims at (1) studying students’ activities in the mathematic-communication-based inquiry learning; (2) studing students’ understanding in Pythagoras material with the mathematic-communication-based inquiry learning. The research was conducted on 8th grade students at one roof Junior High School 4 in Pulau Maya. The research used descriptive analysis which had been modified as necessary. The data analysis procedure was conducted through Miles and Huberman qualitative analysis. The results in this study indicate that: (1) During the learning, drawing activity is the most widely indicated indicator by students compared with written text and mathematical expression activity; (2) students’ understanding in Pythagoras material improve having attended the mathematic communication-based inquiry learning.Keyword: Mathematic Communication-Based Inquiry Learning, Students’ Understanding.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman konseptual siswa ditinjau dari tingkat kemampuan dasar siswa pada materi matriks. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian studi kasus. Subjek penelitian tediri dari 32 siswa kelas X Akutansi 4 SMKN 3 Pontianak. Data hasi penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konseptual siswa tergolong rendah berdasarkan tiga indikator pemahaman konseptual yang digunakan. Siswa dengan tingkat kemampuan dasar tinggi hanya menguasai dua indikator, yaitu mampu mengklasifikasikan objek dalam operasi matriks menurut sifatnya dan mampu memberikan contoh dan bukan contoh dari konsep. Siswa dengan tingkat kemampuan dasar sedang menguasai satu indikator, yaitu mampu memberikan contoh dan bukan contoh dari konsep. Siswa dengan tingkat  kemampuan dasar rendah tidak menguasai tiga indikator yang digunakan, yaitu tidak mampu menyatakan ulang sebuah konsep, tidak mampu mengklasifikasikan objek dalam operasi matriks menurut sifat-sifat tertentu, dan tidak mampu memberikan contoh dan bukan contoh. Kata kunci: Pemahaman Konseptual, Tingkat Kemampuan Dasar Abstrak: The purpose of this research is to identify the students’ conceptual understanding that are reviewed from the students’ basic competency levels of the subject of matrix. The method that is used in this research is descriptive method in case study research’s mode. The Research subject consists of 32 students of “Kelas X Akutansi 4 SMK Negeri 3 Pontianak”. The data research result shows that students’ conceptual understanding are low because of based on three indicators of conceptual understanding that are used. The students’ with high basic competency levels only master two indicators, such as, enable to classify the object in matrix operation according to its feature, enable to give the examples, and not example of the concept. The students’ with intermediate basic competency levels only master one indicators, such as, enable to give the examples, and not example of the concept. The students with low basic competency levels do not master three indicators that are used, such as, unable to re-explain a concept, unable to classify the object in the matrix operation according to specific features, and unable to give the example and not example. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual pada operasi hitung bilangan bulat di kelas VII SMPN 10 Sungai Kakap. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimental design dengan rancangan penelitian one-shot case study. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII B SMPN 10 Sungai Kakap. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran tergolong pada kategori cukup baik dengan rata-rata sebesar 2,76, aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran tergolong pada kategori cukup aktif dengan rata-rata sebesar 2,38, dan ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa tidak tuntas secara klasikal sehingga pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual tidak efektif untuk diterapkan di kelas VII SMPN 10 Sungai Kakap. Kata kunci: Pendekatan Kontekstual, Operasi Hitung Bilangan Bulat, Hasil Belajar Abstract: This research was aimed to find the effectiveness of contextual learning approach to the integer operations in the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Sungai Kakap. The research method that used was pre-experimental design with one-shot case study. The sample of this research was taken from the students of VII B of SMP Negeri 10 Sungai Kakap. The results of this research showed that the ability of teacher in managing learning is in the good enough with the average value 2.76, students activity during the learning belonging to the category of active enough with an average of 2.38, and the mastery learning of students was not master in the classcally. The result of this research is that the contextual learning approach in the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Sungai Kakap is not effective.
