Abstract

Abstract

Village Unit Cooperatives (KUDs) have an important role in supporting the rural economy, but their institutional sustainability is often hampered by a lack of community understanding and weak cooperative management. This article aims to analyse KUD socialisation activities conducted by students of Trunojoyo University Madura's Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) as an effort to manage and strengthen cooperative institutions. This activity involved education on cooperative principles, training on administrative management, and providing strategic assistance to village communities. The implementation methods included a participatory approach through group discussions, simulations, and ongoing monitoring. The results showed that the socialisation successfully increased the community's understanding of the role of cooperatives, improved the administrative system, and increased community participation in cooperative management. In addition, KKN-T students acted as facilitators who bridged the needs of the community with the potential of the cooperative. In conclusion, cooperative socialisation activities by KKN-T students of Trunojoyo University Madura are a strategic step in strengthening cooperative institutions at the village level. These findings can serve as the basis for developing a cooperative empowerment model based on collaboration between universities and communities.

Abstract

Rainfall is a major factor in artisanal salt production in northeast Central Java, Indonesia. Total evaporation technology in salt production relies on solar radiation. This makes salt production dependent on sunlight and rainfall intensity. Analyses were conducted to discuss the impact of rainfall variability on fluctuations in salt productivity. The research was conducted in four districts namely Rembang, Pati, Jepara and Demak in 2018-2023. The method used is descriptive through comparison of salt production data with rainfall intensity data. Data in the form of total production and salt land area were obtained from the Department of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of each district, while rainfall data were obtained from the BMKG Central Java Climatology Station. The results of the analysis show that in 2018 and 2019 the average rainfall of 0.03 mm in July - October caused salt productivity above 100 tonnes / ha. In 2020-2022, rainfall occurred throughout the year causing a decrease in salt production. All salt-producing districts in northeast Central Java, namely Rembang, Pati, Jepara and Demak, experienced a decrease in salt production by an average of 26.76% in 2020-2022 and an increase in average rainfall by 15.58%. Whereas in 2023 there was an increase in salt production by 279.94% from the previous year with rainfall decreasing by 27.28%.

Abstract

Pekalongan is one of the cities in Central Java affected by tidal flooding. Tidal floods occur due to sea level rise and land subsidence in Pekalongan, so far the tidal floods have had an impact on the community. Infrastructure damage and disruption of community activities are examples of the impact of tidal floods in Pekalongan. One of the government policies in overcoming tidal floods is to build sea walls along the coast of     Pekalongan. This policy will certainly have an impact on the morphological pattern of the coastal area. This study was conducted to determine the pattern of currents, waves, and sediment characteristics on the coast of Pekalongan after the sea wall. The analysis was conducted using current and wave modeling of delft-3d application. Sediment analysis was conducted by analyzing sediment grain size (Granulometry). The results show that currents and waves are influenced by seasonal winds that occur in Pekalongan. The dominant season in coastal Pekalongan occurs between December - January (West Season). Current conditions in the west season move with a speed of 0.2 -0.3 m/set moving eastward. West season wave conditions move with a height of 7.2 meters with a peak period of 7.2 seconds. While the sediment characteristics in Pekalongan are dominated by mud - sandy. From these sediment characteristics, it can be concluded that the influence of currents and waves of the west season can cause the distribution of sediments towards the east.

Abstract

This article is about legal verses related to the noble status of women. So far, some people still think that the status of women is not as special as that of men. Such an assumption has a serious impact on gender inequality in the household, women are often positioned as officers who play a role in "wells, kitchens and mattresses". Whereas in the Qur'an the position of men and women in the family sphere has the same degree, has the same rights and obligations, has the same dignity. The focus of this article is to find the verses of women's law and their actualization of gender justice in the family. This type of article is library research (literary research), using a qualitative approach with discriminatory-analytic analysis, this article explains the verses about the glory of women in Islam. From several stories in the Koran, especially verses about the glory of women. It can be said that Islam came to proclaim the humanity of women as whole human beings. Women are noble beings who have dignity and worth. Islam asserts that all humans (male and female) are created from the same element (nafs wahidah). Islam is very strict about placing women as equal partners to men, including in the family.

Abstract

Salaf Schools, as Islamic educational institutions, often face limited facilities and infrastructure. This study aims to analyze the obstacles and challenges in providing sports facilities and infrastructure, especially badminton, in Salaf schools that have limited facilities. Creative modifications such as the use of used bottles as a substitute for rackets are carried out to overcome these limitations. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and case studies. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with teachers and principals, as well as observations of sports facilities in schools. The results of the study showed that although the tools used were not standard, these modifications increased student participation and enthusiasm in sports learning. The principle of "indeed with difficulty there is ease" was applied to motivate teachers and students to remain creative and productive in facing limitations. This innovative solution succeeded in creating an interactive learning atmosphere and supporting students' physical development.

Abstract

Blue whale and their subspecies is an endangered whale species that needs to be conserved by protecting their important habitat and migration corridor. Research about designing and modelling blue whale habitat for marine protected area has been done many times. However, incorporation of connectivity in marine protected areas design and management has been limited due to the complexity of methods used to model connectivity, therefore the implementation among practitioners is inconsistent. An alternative method to model connectivity of pygmy blue whale habitat is discussed through a combination of maximum entropy model and circuit theory. The habitat suitability models were made using satellite-tagged pygmy blue whale data (2012-2016) and oceanographic variables, such as sea surface temperature, chlorophyll, salinity, bathymetry, and seafloor geomorphology for four season that is March-April-May (MAM), June-July-August (JJA), September-October-November (SON), and December-January-February (DJF). The habitat suitability model shows different importance of environmental variables in their preference of habitat in each season, with distance from slope as the most influential parameter during the migration season (54.4% for MAM, 37.8% for SON), mean climatological chlorophyll during winter (31%), and mean climatological sea surface temperature during summer (54.7%). Habitat suitability result were then used to model connectivity, assuming that the whales migrate during MAM and SON. The migration model from Omniscape showed some pinch point, such as Sumba-Sape strait, Alor strait, Rote strait, Ombai strait. These pinch points can be seen as corridors with high potential of pygmy blue whale migration or high connectivity, therefore this area could become priority for conservation.

Abstract

The density of community activities around the Ujing Piring Bangkalan estuary has the potential to produce waste containing ammonia which is very dangerous for the environment and causes a decrease in water quality and threatens the existence of aquatic organisms including phytoplankton. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between ammonia levels and the abundance of phytoplankton in the morning and evening in the Ujung Piring Bangkalan estuary. The sampling time was carried out in the morning (08.00-09.30 WIB) and afternoon (15.00-16.30 WIB) three times in three weeks using 10 micron plankton nets in the Ujung Piring Bangkalan estuary waters. The sampling method used a purposive sampling method with phytoplankton analysis using the census method and continued with statistical tests using the linear regression method. The relationship between ammonia levels and phytoplankton abundance in the morning and evening were 0.1537 with a percentage of 15% and 0.0593 with a percentage of 0.05%, respectively. This value states that ammonia levels have a negative correlation with the abundance of phytoplankton in the morning and evening in the Ujung Piring Bangkalan estuary.
