Abstract

Abstract

Pedagogical transformation in the digital age aligns with the digitalization program from the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture. The policy emphasizes using information technology tools such as tablets, computers, and home learning portals as operational support for performance schools. Learning enhanced through digitalization will bring about a variety of new learning methods that directly facilitate the learning process between educators and pupils. The topic of the study is the pedagogical transformation of English language teaching at junior high schools in the digital age in remote areas of Sambas. It was to describe the change of pedagogy in English language teaching using digital devices in a remote area. The research used a qualitative case study. The researcher used observation, interviews, and document analysis to collect data. The data were taken from remote schools in Paloh and Sejangkung. Based on the findings, the pedagogical transformation can be implemented with limited resources in remote schools of Sambas. Implementing pedagogical transformation in English language teaching gives benefits and challenges. It helps the students and the teachers in teaching and learning activities. However, no electricity line, limited internet access, and limited digital devices become the challenges for educational providers in remote areas.

Abstract

Ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) is a medicinal plant widely used in traditional medicine in Indonesia due to its diverse active compounds. However, many people still do not understand the proper extraction methods to maximize the recovery of beneficial compounds from ginger rhizomes. This community service activity aims to improve community knowledge and skills in processing ginger through decoction and infusion methods. The methods used included interactive counseling and live demonstrations on the preparation of herbal remedies, extraction techniques, and the advantages and disadvantages of each method. As part of the evaluation, pre- and post-tests were conducted to measure participants' understanding. The results showed an average pre-test score of 92.89, which increased to 96.67 in the post-test. This increase indicates that the counseling activity successfully strengthened participants' understanding, both theoretically and practically. This activity demonstrates that an experiential educational approach can have a positive impact on increasing public literacy regarding the use of medicinal plants.

ABSTRACT Title: Air pollution and atopic dermatitis: A literature reviewBackground: Currently, air pollution in Indonesia is quite high along with increasing urbanization and industrialization. Exposure to air pollution may cause damage to skin protective function and may be related to atopic dermatitis. This paper aims to review the progress of studies concerning the relationship between air pollution and atopic dermatitis. Method: Studies, which were published in English within the last 5 years, were obtained through databases (Pubmed, ClinicalKey, EBSCO, and ProQuest). The keywords used are“particulate matter AND atopic dermatitis”Result: Results show that air pollution may damage skin barrier and trigger inflammatory response, thereby inducing atopic dermatitis. Prenatal and early childhood exposure to air pollution were associated with increasing incidence of atopic dermatitis in children. Acute exposure to high pollutant causes the increase of atopic dermatitis relapse. The prevalence of atopic dermatitis is also increasing in developing countries. Conclusion: This study concluded that air pollution may trigger or worsen the symptoms of atopic dermatitis.

Abstract

This study looked at how Gowa Regency's population, economic growth, and HDI affected income inequality between 2014 and 2023. Multiple linear regression analysis is the quantitative method employed in this study. The findings show that whereas economic development has no discernible impact on income inequality, the population variable has a positive and considerable impact. On the other hand, Gowa Regency's income disparity is significantly and negatively impacted by the Human Development Index (HDI). To get more thorough and reliable results, future researchers interested in related subjects are urged to increase the sample size and include more variables.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of monetary and macroeconomic variables on the profitability of banking in Indonesia. The independent variables used are the Interest Rate (BI-Rate), Inflation, Exchange Rate, and for the dependent variable, the Return On Assets (ROA) of banks in Indonesia for the period 2009-2023. The method that will be used in this research is Panel Data with analysis using the Eviews 12 application. The research results show that interest rates do not affect the profitability of state-owned banks or private banks. The inflation variable has different effects on the profitability of each bank, namely it affects state-owned banks (BUMN) but does not affect private banks. Similarly, the Exchange Rate has different effects on each bank's profitability, namely, it does not affect State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) banks and does affect Private banks
