Abstract

The phenomenon of globalization increases the intensity of interconnection among countries worldwide, so that the demand of each country is determined by the nature of its foreign trade. Undoubtedly, to conduct international business, the common currency, the US Dollar, must be used, as every country uses the dollar as a medium for transactions with one another. This increases the risk that changes in exchange rates themselves can lead to changes in currency values. The exchange rate of the Rupiah has a significant impact on the commercial efforts of individuals and organizations by comparing the value of one country's money with that of another. Indonesia's participation in the global economy exposes it to negative impacts from export and import activities and inflation, which influences the value of the Rupiah. This research aims to determine how exports, imports, and inflation affect the volatility of the Indonesian Rupiah exchange rate against the US Dollar. This study employs a quantitative model approach using data sourced from government agencies, namely BPS (Central Statistics Agency) and BI (Bank Indonesia). The research shows that the independent variables used (exports, imports, and inflation) have a simultaneous effect on the value of the Rupiah. The Rupiah exchange rate is greatly influenced by the export and import variables but is not affected by the inflation variable. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 84.1%. This indicates that exports, imports, and inflation are factors that can cause changes in the value of the Rupiah against the US Dollar.

Abstract

Background: The treatment of psoriasis in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a multifaceted challenge that necessitates a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between skin and joint manifestations of the disease, as well as the associated comorbidities. The literature on this topic reveals a progressive evolution in the therapeutic landscape and highlights the complexity of managing PsA effectively. Literature Review: Kingsley and Scott (2015) highlighted the effectiveness of synthetic and biologic disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) in treating PsA, noting that effective management requires addressing both skin and joint symptoms (H Kingsley & L Scott, 2015). De Marco et al. (2020) explored non-topical treatments for early, untreated psoriatic disease, revealing that while certain pharmacological interventions like apremilast and biologics show promise, there remains a lack of comprehensive composite indices as primary outcome measures. The influence of comorbid conditions on drug choice was further elaborated by Ritchlin et al. (2020), who emphasized the importance of personalized treatment plans tailored to the severity of PsA and the presence of comorbidities (J Mease et al., 2019). Conclusion: In conclusion, the treatment of psoriasis in patients with psoriatic arthritis requires a multifaceted approach that integrates both dermatological and rheumatological considerations, while also addressing the complexities introduced by comorbidities. The literature emphasizes the importance of individualized treatment plans and highlights the need for ongoing research to better understand the interplay between skin and joint symptoms, ultimately aiming for improved patient outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not the EGRA (Experience, Generalization, Reinforcement, and Application) technique had a significant effect on how the eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Sekayam were taught the simple past tense. The investigation was conducted as a pre-experimental design. 30 students from VIII A were selected as the sample for this study using cluster sampling. The outcome of the data analysis showed that the value of the students' pre - test and post-test varied. The pretest's mean score was 32.00, whereas the posttest's mean score was 84.00. It indicates that the pupils understood the simple past tense well after using the EGRA method to teach them. Furthermore, the result of the paired-sample test t-test showed .000 which was 0.05. The results showed that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. The findings showed that the EGRA Technique significantly affects the teaching of simple past tense.

Abstract

While research on digital language learning materials has received lots of attention, there was a scarcity of studies focusing on specific locations, like Sambas in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Located near the border of Indonesia and Malaysia, Sambas has a unique EFL learning environment influenced by its geographical location and diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Understanding students' needs and preferences in local contexts is crucial in designing culturally relevant teaching materials. This study aimed to assess the needs and preferences of students in Sambas and provided valuable insights into optimizing the utilization of digital teaching materials for English language learning. This study employed a survey research design to elicit information about current materials, the student's needs, perceptions, and preferences concerning digital materials in English students' needs and preferences, and technological resources. The participants of this study were first-year students of junior secondary school (20 students) in Sambas. The findings revealed that students need videos, movies, and songs with English subtitles as learning materials. Furthermore, the study might shape future research in developing and implementing digital EFL materials customized to the Sambas' cultural context, including local language, customs, and traditions, and their effectiveness in engaging students and improving English language acquisition.

Abstract

This research aims to describe how the use of digital storytelling impact the tenth-grade (X.A) students at SMA Santo Fransiskus Asisi Pontianak in learning listening comprehension. The animation stories of digital form were served to bring the engagement among students in listening activities. The listening activity was done with the assistance of audio visual media by manipulating the original story to the new version. Then, the story board was rearranged to associate the students’ listening comprehension to the changing plot of the story being played. The research used classroom action research conducted in two cycles. Every cycle consisted of four steps such as planning, action, evaluation, and reflection. The data in every learning cycle were presented quantitatively based on the indicator and described in qualitative descriptions. The weakness in one cycle was revised, and did the following cycle with the same steps but with the revised lesson plan. Research instruments were constructed in the form of assessment rubric, field note, and observation instrument to the lesson plan and teaching process. The findings revealed that the students showed their positive changes from one cycle to the next cycle in terms of engagement and listening comprehension. As a result, the use of digital storytelling to teach listening improves the students’ engagement and impacts positively to the achievement on listening comprehension through the medium of animation of fractured story.
