Abstract

Penajam Paser Utara Regency is primarily dominated by marine and coastal areas, therefore the fishing industry is the main catalyst for the local economy. The vast potential in the fisheries industry must, of course, be carefully evaluated in order to identify development goals that are appropriate for the development of the local economy. The objective of this study is to determine the comparative and competitive advantages of the fisheries industry that can be developed in the Penajam Paser Utara Regency. The analytical approaches employed in this study include Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), Klassen Typology, and Shift Share Analysis (SSA). This study employs time series data on fisheries sector production in tons over the last five years, specifically from 2018 to 2023. Based on the findings of the data analysis procedure, the basic pond cultivation sector is either the base or leading sector. The marine catch fisheries sector has the best economic growth pattern and structure of any other sector. When compared to other fishing sectors that will be promoted to help regional development in Penajam Paser Utara Regency, these two have the most potential, competitiveness, and prospects.

Abstract

The fishing business in Sanga-Sanga Sub-district is carried out by fishermen who use different fishing gear such as basic longline and floating bubu. This study aimed to analyze the income from the fishing business by basic longline fishermen and floating bubu and whether there is a real difference between the income of basic longline fishermen and floating bubu. Based on the analysis result, it was known that the average income of fishermen who use basic longlines was Rp 46,579,291.67/year while fishermen who use floating bubu is Rp 9,963,200.00/year. The statistical analysis results of the unpaired two-sample t-test showed that the calculated t value was 5.905 greater than the t table value of 2.447 and had a significance value of the t test which was smaller than 0.05. This meant that there was a significant difference in income between basic longline fishermen and floating bubu fishermen. Keywords:Financial AnalysisFishing GearIncome DifferencesKutai Kartanegara

Abstract

The Community Service Activity “Optimizing Local Resources to Support Innovative Learning Programs at SMPN 3 Pagelaran” aims to integrate local potential into the learning process to improve the quality of education and strengthen students' cultural identity. The methods employed include identifying and mapping local resources, developing an integrated curriculum, teacher training, implementing resource-based learning, and establishing a school-community collaboration network. The results of the activity demonstrate the successful identification of 15 types of natural resources, 8 cultural heritage elements, and 12 local community professions, which were developed into 24 integrated learning modules. The implementation of the program in 36 classrooms increased student active participation from 45% to 87%, student attendance from 78% to 94%, and average test scores from 7.2 to 8.3. 95% of teachers reported increased confidence in local resource-based learning, while 92% of students stated that learning had become more engaging and meaningful. The establishment of the Local Resource-Based Learning Forum created a sustainable learning ecosystem involving all community components and opened opportunities for local economic development.

Abstract

Students often struggle to identify and position themselves in physics class which is known as the conceptualization of physics identity. One of the contributing factors is the limited learning environment that fosters engagement and a sense of belonging in physics. This study aims to develop, validate, and test the practicality of physics learning tools in a non-formal context, specifically through a physics club. The research employs the Research and Development (R&D) design with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The instruments were validity and practicality questionnaires. The content validity was assessed by two experts: one physics lecturer and one physics teacher. In addition, the practicality testing involved one physics teacher and 36 students from Laboratory Senior High School UM (Universitas Negeri Malang). Data were analyzed through descriptive statistic by presenting the percentage of the validity and the aspect of practicality. The developed products include a physics club program book, a physics club activity module, and a physics club material book. The validity results showed that the program content achieved 94% (highly valid), the media and material validity of the physics club activity module scored 81% and 89% respectively (highly valid), and the media and material validity of the physics club material book scored 89% and 91% (highly valid). Practicality tests by teachers and students yielded scores of 97% (highly practical) and 77% (practical), respectively. Based on these results, the physics club learning tools are declared valid and practical for use in order to strengthen students’ physics identity.
