Abstract

Pendidikan humanisme merupakan pendekatan yang mengutamakan pengembangan potensi individu secara holistik, dengan menekankan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan, kebebasan individu, dan moralitas. Tujuan utama dari pendidikan ini adalah membentuk karakter peserta didik yang unggul, dengan menekankan pada aspek kognitif, afektif, dan moral. Penelitian ini berfokus pada implementasi pendidikan humanisme di Ma'had Darul Fikri, sebuah lembaga pendidikan Islam di Ponorogo, yang bertujuan untuk membentuk karakter unggul pada peserta didiknya. Pendekatan humanisme diharapkan dapat menciptakan lingkungan pendidikan yang bebas dari kekerasan, memberikan penghargaan terhadap martabat peserta didik, dan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, integritas, serta pengendalian diri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk menggali penerapan pendidikan humanisme di Ma'had Darul Fikri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun pendidikan humanisme berhasil menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih inklusif dan menghargai martabat peserta didik, terdapat tantangan besar dalam implementasinya. Beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan dan kegagalan penerapan pendidikan ini antara lain adalah kurangnya pemahaman yang mendalam dari pendidik mengenai prinsip-prinsip dasar pendidikan humanisme, ketakutan terhadap dampak hukum terkait perlindungan anak, serta ketidakseimbangan dalam penegakan disiplin yang menyebabkan penurunan dalam pembentukan karakter unggul peserta didik. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, penelitian ini merekomendasikan bahwa untuk mengoptimalkan penerapan pendidikan humanisme, perlu adanya penekanan lebih lanjut pada aspek kedisiplinan, tanggung jawab, serta pemahaman yang lebih mendalam bagi pendidik mengenai esensi pendidikan humanisme. Hal ini penting untuk memastikan bahwa pendidikan humanisme tidak hanya menghindari kekerasan, tetapi juga secara efektif membentuk karakter yang kuat dan kritis pada peserta didik.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to: (1) analyze the role of self-compassion in dealing with negative body image and the factors influencing it among female adolescents; (2) explore the contribution of moral education to the development of self-compassionate attitudes; and (3) evaluate the impact of self-compassion on the psychological and social well-being of female adolescents in Islamic schools. This research addresses the limitations of previous studies, which predominantly employed quantitative approaches and have not contextually addressed spiritual values. Design/methods/approach – This study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. Four female adolescents from Muhammadiyah Junior High Schools 7 and 8 in Surakarta were purposively selected based on their experiences with negative body image. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and document studies, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s technique. Data validity was enhanced through triangulation of methods, sources, and theories. Findings – The study found that self-compassion functions as a protective mechanism that helps female adolescents manage social pressures related to the body. The three main dimensions of Neff’s framework—self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness—were identified in the participants’ narratives. Moral education that internalizes Islamic values such as gratitude (syukur), contentment (qanaah), and sincerity (ikhlas) contributed to self-acceptance and psychological resilience. Self-compassion also had a positive impact on increasing self-confidence, emotional calmness, and healthy social relationships. Research implications – The findings recommend a reformulation of the Islamic Religious Education curriculum to be more responsive to adolescents’ psychosocial issues, as well as the development of spiritual mentoring programs and Islamic media literacy to promote positive body image and emotional well-being among students.

Abstract

This study critically examines the role of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (Ikatan Mahasiswa Muhammadiyah—IMM) in preparing functional cadres for student organizations (Ormawa) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS). As an autonomous student wing of Muhammadiyah, IMM holds a strategic mandate in leadership development—not only for its internal structure but also to support the broader ecosystem of student leadership within the university. Employing a descriptive approach with a mixed-methods design, the study integrates basic quantitative analysis through percentage-based calculations and qualitative analysis using the Miles and Huberman model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and document analysis. The findings reveal that in 2022, IMM’s contribution to the formation of functional cadres in Ormawa accounted for only 4% of the total leadership demand, indicating a significant gap between the organization’s idealized role and its actual implementation. Key challenges identified include low student participation in the Darul Arqam Dasar (DAD) training program and insufficient cadre readiness in terms of ideological understanding and leadership capacity. The study recommends a comprehensive strengthening of cadre development strategies—both in quality and quantity—to enhance IMM’s contribution to student leadership sustainability at UMS

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis upaya guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dan Bimbingan Konseling (BK) dalam meningkatkan kepribadian serta karakter religius siswa di SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Klaten Utara. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan data diperoleh melalui observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru PAI dan BK memainkan peran strategis dalam pembinaan karakter siswa melalui berbagai program, seperti disiplin pagi, disiplin shalat berjamaah, sidak pembinaan, dan ujian praktik keagamaan. Upaya ini difokuskan untuk mengatasi perilaku menyimpang seperti bullying, merokok, dan pelanggaran lainnya, serta membangun karakter religius siswa. Program ini berkontribusi pada terciptanya siswa yang berkepribadian unggul dan siap bersaing di dunia kerja. Tantangan utama yang dihadapi adalah pengaruh lingkungan, pergaulan, serta kurangnya kedisiplinan siswa. Namun, melalui kolaborasi antara guru dan program pembinaan yang sistematis, terjadi peningkatan kualitas kepribadian dan religiositas siswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa peran guru dalam pembentukan karakter religius siswa sangat penting, terutama di sekolah berbasis kejuruan, untuk menghasilkan lulusan yang tidak hanya kompeten secara akademis, tetapi juga bermoral dan berkarakter. Upaya yang berkelanjutan diperlukan agar visi sekolah dapat tercapai sepenuhnya.

Abstract

The weak character of students in terms of discipline, responsibility, and empathy is one of the main challenges in education today. The government responded to this problem through SEB No. 1 of 2025 which emphasizes the importance of strengthening character in the school environment through planned and sustainable activities. This study aims to describe the practice of holistic student management at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Colomadu, analyze its role in shaping student character, and identify obstacles and opportunities for its implementation. The study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The main informant was the Vice Principal for Student Affairs. The results of the study showed that the school implemented comprehensive student management, from planning, organizing, to program evaluation. Activities such as Dhuha prayer, coding, debate, and cadre formation through IPM contributed to shaping the values ​​of religiosity, leadership, discipline, and social responsibility of students. The main obstacles came from the negative influence of the external environment and lack of family involvement, while opportunities were supported by a strong school culture and the active role of students and parents. This study concludes that holistic student management plays a significant role in shaping student character and can be used as a model for implementing sustainable character education

Abstract

This article examines the learning design of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) based on democratic and multicultural values, which can be the answer to the identity crisis experienced by the younger generation in the modern era. In the midst of the influence of globalization, technological development, and increasingly complex cultural and religious diversity, religious education is required to be more than just conveying doctrine. This approach offers learning experiences that encourage active participation, open dialogue, and reflection on students' social reality. Using a qualitative approach, this research was conducted through literature studies and case studies in schools that apply democratic values in Islamic education learning. The results show that this learning model is able to create an inclusive classroom atmosphere, strengthen a sense of empathy, and shape the character of students who are open to differences. The role of the teacher also becomes very important, namely as a value companion and dialogue facilitator, not just a text teacher. Although promising, the implementation of this approach still faces obstacles such as limited teacher understanding, lack of policy support, and lack of contextualized teaching materials. Therefore, cross-stakeholder cooperation is needed to ensure that religious learning is able to form a generation that is religious, tolerant, and ready to coexist in a diverse society.

Abstract

This study focuses on the tahfidz extracurricular activities at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo, aiming to maintain the memorization of students who already had a foundation before entering the school. This study aims to: (1) describe character education through tahfidz extracurricular activities; and (2) analyze the purpose of implementing tahfidz extracurricular activities at the school. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with the study conducted at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo, Sukoharjo District, Sukoharjo Regency. The research was conducted on January until February 2025. Data collection techniques include interviews, documentation, and observation. The results of the study indicate that: (1) The tahfidz extracurricular activities can foster character education continuously and dynamically, shaping positive habits in students; and (2) In an effort to maintain memorization through tahfidz extracurricular activities, the school strives to create an effective schedule and methods so that students can participate without obstacles, providing a positive influence on the development of students' character.

Abstract

The discussion in this research concerns the influence of the Independent Learning Curriculum on Islamic Religious Education subjects. This research aims to describe the implementation of an Independent Learning Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education subjects and the supporting and inhibiting factors for Islamic Religious Education teachers in implementing the independent curriculum at a Public High School. The research approach used is qualitative with a case study method. The instruments used to collect data in this research are observation and interviews. Researchers observed the environment of a Public High School and the condition of the classes that were implementing the Independent Learning Curriculum. The research subjects were Islamic Religious Education subject teachers who had used the Independent Learning Curriculum for two periods in their classes. The research results show that implementing the Independent Learning Curriculum at Public High School was quite successful, with many supporting factors from the school, such as teachers and staff having high enthusiasm for holding Independent Learning Curriculum Implementation training. Apart from that, the facilities in the form of Chromebooks provided by the government to Public High Schools are also no less critical in realising the success of the Independent Learning Curriculum implementation. However, it does not deny that public high schools face inhibiting factors, such as human resources (HR) among students, which are still low, as evidenced by the school report cards, which are still yellow.

Abstract

Metode pembelajaran aktif atau Active Learning adalah urutan kegiatan proses pembelajaran yang sistematik dan berfokus terhadap keaktifan siswa, di mana guru memiliki posisi sebagai fasilitator yang membuat suasana belajar menjadi lebih ideal dan menghidupkan suasana agar peserta didik menjadi aktif. Pembelajaran aktif berprinsip bahwa yang belajar adalah siswa. Maka tugas guru adalah membantu siswa belajar dengan baik. Kurangnya tenaga pendidik yang ahli dalam metode pembelajaran aktif menjadi permasalahan tersendiri bagi kalangan akademisi. Terutama di lingkungan pondok pesatren yang menyebabkan siswa kurang termotivasi dalam belajar. Kenyataannya di dalam proses pembelajaran, baik di dalam pembelajaran nasional maupun pembelajaran yang bersifat agama cenderung banyak terpusat pada strategi pembelajaran klasik yang kurang adanya interaksi antara guru dan siswa. Di mana siswa hanya lebih banyak pasif sebagai pendengar. Maka penulis memberikan solusi sebagai bentuk kegiatan pengabdian: pertama, melakukan pelatihan dan sosialisasi berupa Workshop kepada para guru dan staff kependidikan Pesantren Muhammadiyah se-Boyolali mengenai strategi pembelajaran aktif. Solusi tersebut diharapkan mampu memberikan bekal pengetahuan dan skill mengenai pembelajaran aktif dan dapat diaplikasikan dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga dapat lebih maksimal dan berdampak pada semangat belajar siswa yang meningkat. Kedua, di sisi lain di saat yang sama melakukan pendampingan kepada para guru ketika menerapkan strategi pembelajaran aktif ketika mengajar siswa, harapannya ada feedback dan evaluasi terhadap strategi pembelajaran aktif yang sudah dilakukan sehingga dapat dilakukan perbaikan-perbaikan yang dapat menjadikan lebih baik lagi dalam proses pembelajaran menggunakan strategi pembelajaran aktif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran guru pendidikan agama islam dalam membentuk karakter disiplin ibadah siswa melalui organisasi aktivis markaz Islami atau rohisnya sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Dalam proses pengumpulan data peneliti menggunakan teknik triangulasi data. Subyek penelitian meliputi guru PAI dan ketua organisasi AMI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran guru pendidikan agama islam dalam membentuk karakter disiplin ibadah siswa adalah 1) membimbing siswa untuk membentuk karakter disiplin ibadah, 2) membentuk karakter disiplin ibadah siswa melalui organisasi AMI, 3) mendampingi siswa dalam merancang dan melaksanakan program AMI, 4) Menjadi tauladan yang baik bagi siswa. Untuk faktor-faktor pendukung yaitu adanya 1) fasilitas yang memadai seperti masjid yang digunakan untuk berbagai acara dalam meningkatkan karakter disiplin ibadah siswa, 2) Kerja sama yang baik antar semua tenaga pendidik, 3) Program kegiatan organisasi AMI yang sesuai dengan pengembangan karakter siswa. Adapun faktor-faktor penghambatnya adalah 1) Fasilitas yang kurang terawat, 2) Siswa kecanduan bermain tablet/gadget, 3) Kepedulian siswa yang kurang.
