Abstract

The main obstacle in making a scientific paper is due to lack of experience in writing and weak knowledge of strategies in technical writing. This workshop aims to provide insight into writing strategies, train using the Mendeley application reference tool, and write citations in journals or scientific papers. This activity was carried out through the Zoom Meeting application by presenting competent resource persons and divided into several stages, starting from participant registration, education stages and direct practice of using applications on Microsoft Office Word. From the training results, ten universities with 150 participants participated, of which 52% of participants were unfamiliar with the Mendeley application. With the evaluation results, 70.47% of participants were able to operate this application. Participants stated that they were very interested in using the simple regression results, the R2 value = 0.9691, and the ease of use of the application obtained an R2 value of 0.9702.

Abstract

Purpose: In construction projects, delays are disruptive and expensive. Therefore, the reason for the schedule delay needs to be identied. The delay factors determined in previous research were predominantly studied through surveys. In these studies, the participants were a stakeholder in construction projects, and the reason for schedule lateness was identied through their point of view. Design/methodology/approach: This research is conducted at a bored pile project in Opus Apartment, Batam, Indonesia. The studies are done through the Fault Tree Analysis method to find the root causes of the delay. Findings: Causes of delay in construction to prevent lateness on future construction projects. Research limitations/implications: Evaluation of delay causes on the bore pile foundation project in Opus Apartment. Practical implications: Evaluation of lateness in construction project through Fault Tree Analysis Paper type: Case Study

Abstract

Evaluation and analysis of terminal capacity and user satisfaction is one of the things that needs to be done to prepare for all post-COVID-19 conditions. Airport passenger satisfaction is an important component in airport service management because it affects the demand for travel accessand airport revenue. The purpose of this study is to evaluate capacity and analyze passenger satisfaction at Hang Nadim airport in Batam post-COVID-19. The method used is Simple Linear Regression and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). Sampling was done by probability sampling with the population of Hang Nadim airport passengers. The data collected in the form of data on the number of passengers departing during 2012 to 2021. Direct observations were carried out by distributing questionnaires to 50 respondents. With the linear regression method, passenger flows will be obtained until the post-covid-19 pandemic, so that a capacity evaluation will be carried out at the airport. Based on the results of the evaluation and analysis carried out, it was found that the estimated number of passengers after the COVID-19 pandemic in In 2022 the predicted number of arriving passengers is 1,553,669 and in 2023 as many as 1,444,876 people.. There is one facility that needs to be improved, namely the arrival hall which was originally 3,452 m² to 4,525 m². While other facilities are still in the category of fulfilling. The level of passenger satisfaction with the quality of Batam's Hang Nadim airport is 53.96 percent, which is quite satisfied according to the Customer Satisfaction Index approach.

Abstract

Purpose: Compare of the sustainability transportation systems between Indonesia and Germany. Learning implements some lessons learned from the German experience to the development of transportation planning in Indonesia to support sustainable land use and transportation by comparing and analyzing the probability of converting and adopting reducing private transportation, landscape, financing mechanisms, and transport mechanism between Germany and Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach: Analyzing obtained data based on the comparison's parameters framework. Findings: Potentially, a parameter that can be set to develop a better transportation system for environmental and people safety, or even to reduce the congestion that occurs in most of Indonesia's metropolitan areas. Research limitations/implications: Since the study location is in fact somewhat distant, the information that is gathered to analyze the comparison is only chosen from each country's broad outline and is not otherwise specified. Practical implications: Finding solution for a better sustainable transportation in Indonesia that can be implemented. Originality/value: The analytical framework that is implemented in this comparative study is a methodically innovative approach form of developing an Innovative Transport System that is to aim a better use of transport network. Abstract

Purpose: Hang Nadim Airport is the only airport in Batam. And recently, Hang Nadim Airport closed some of their flight route. This cause less plane to fly, and will increase the potential of flight delays. Flight rescheduling can be main reason of dissatisfaction. But besides that, this paper will also focus on check-in service speed, check-in hospitality, comfortability, security, hygiene, food & beverages, providing accurate information, pricing, online services, and facilities provided for the indicators on service satisfaction. The method used in this research is Interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). The data obtained are: Hang Nadim Airport needs to improve on providing accurate information about departure and arrival time and facilities, food & beverages; pricing; and online services are the lowest priority at Hang Nadim Airport, and check-in service speed; check-in hospitality; comfortability; security; and hygiene is where Hang Nadim Airport needs to keep up the good work. Design/methodology/approach: Analyzing data collected from Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) questionnaire. Findings: Indicators that need to be improved, or keep up for Hang Nadim Airport. This way, they can give satisfying service towards passengers. Research limitations/implications: This paper is very limited on sample size. We were only able to collect total of 109 respondents, which is very small compared to Hang Nadim Airport user. Practical implications: Giving inputs toward Hang Nadim Airport many indicators to be improved, or keep up, in hope it will be implemented in the future. Originality/value: The analysis process of this research paper is originally made by authors and purely based on research and study. Paper type: Research paper.

Abstract

University students in many developing countries do not experience the same mode choices in developed countries. This study implements existing influence factors of mode choice towards a university in a developing country by analyzing the characteristics of the student’s preferences in choosing the best transportation modes under different circumstances. The primary data is taken through a stated preference survey which is then analyzed using a descriptive statistics approach and findings are compared with existing studies. Firstly, commuter students show a significant interest in driving-alone mode compared to the other four mode choices. Secondly, proximity to campus proves to be influential on students’ mode choices. Thirdly, the majority of students live within their family residences, and this influence their mode choice behavior. Lastly, the results shown are correlated only with evening-period students.
