Abstract

An intersection is the confluence of different directions of the road. In general, traffic conflicts often occur in intersectional areas. Congestion can occur due to the dense volume of vehicles and the absence of traffic lights. This study aims to determine the performance of an uncited intersection in accommodating vehicles passing through it. What this means is that this unlicensed interchange does not cause congestion due to the irregularity of the driver of the vehicle. Primary data collection in this study was carried out directly, namely recording the size of the road width at the intersection and taking survey data on the number of vehicles directly at the intersection. After analyzing the calculation results, it was found that the road capacity value (C) was obtained at 3469 pcu/hour. This value is below the maximum base capacity (Co = 5144.42 smp/h). Based on the results of calculation analysis from survey data, it shows the value of the degree of saturation (DS) of 0.67 sec/pcu. If the degree of saturation (DS) is <0.70, then the degree of saturation at the intersection falls into the low category. In the calculation obtained, the probability of queuing at the intersection (QP) is 19 - 38%.

Abstract

Transportation activity is a vital need for urban economic development. Mangga Dua, as a shopping center area and many other commercial points, has been supported by various modes of public transportation, one of which is the Electric Rail Train (KRL). The Bekasi area and its surroundings are a supporter of the transportation and agglomeration of Jakarta. Every day, many Bekasi people use the KRL for mobility activities to various areas covered by the KRL, including Mangga Dua. Even so, many private vehicle users still depend on road infrastructure which causes traffic congestion problems for Jakarta – Bekasi mobility. However, the fact that the Cikarang - Kampung Bandan KRL route is always busy indicates that KRL is still a solution for Bekasi - Jakarta transportation problem that many people choose. This research is intended to determine what factors influence the choice of KRL mode and what factors influence the choice of that mode. The method used is stated preference by collecting primary data using questionnaires from respondents who commute using Cikarang – Kampung Bandan Line. Data processing and analysis were carried out with the help of SPSS software version 16.0. The data processing and analysis results show that the factors influencing the choice of KRL mode are cost-effectiveness, safety, and convenience. Congestion and ease of access are the most influential factors afterward, and the effectiveness of travel time is the last order factor out of 5 factors in the most influential hypothesis. With the result that 71% of respondents chose KRL over motorbikes, it was concluded that KRL as a rail-based mode is a solution to the Jakarta - Bekasi transportation problem.

Abstract

Using Cold Paving Hot Mix Asbuton (CPHMA) is an alternative to road preservation needs in the form of quick patching in Indonesia, which is considered optimal. However, until now, CPHMA still needs to be considered strong against natural challenges with high rainfall. This paper aims to test the performance of CPHMA with Portland cement filler against the Immersion Test. The immersion test is a laboratory model as an approach to immersion due to rainfall on road preservation. The test specimens were selected based on the optimum asphalt content, comprising 57 pieces. Tests are carried out in the laboratory with various Indonesian National Standard tests. Then the Marshall test was carried out with standard conditions (2x75 collisions) to determine density, stability, yield, Marshall quotient, standard durability tests, and modified durability to determine the durability index value. The Immersion test results showed that CPHMA with 1% Portland cement as filler and optimum asphalt content of 6% could withstand immersion for three days, 7 hours, 37 minutes 15 seconds. The duration of the immersion is relatively long compared to the period of immersion in the field due to the rain that occurred.
