Abstract

Understanding ecosystems is not only academically important but also practically valuable in fostering environmental awareness. Knowledge of ecosystem balance can cultivate a sense of responsibility toward environmental conservation and sustainability. This study aims to examine the effect of interactive video-based learning on elementary school students’ learning outcomes in ecosystem topics. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model and involved 30 fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Penuduan, Musi Banyuasin. Data were collected through expert validation, practicality testing, and pretest–posttest assessments, and were analyzed using N-gain scores and paired-sample t-tests. The validation results indicated that the developed learning videos were categorized as “very valid” in terms of content, language, and media aspects, with an average practicality level exceeding 90%. The pretest results showed an initial average score of 38, while the posttest average increased to 86.67, with an N-gain score of 0.78, which falls into the “high” category. The paired-sample t-test revealed a statistically significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes (p < 0.05). These findings provide empirical evidence that interactive video-based learning is effective in improving elementary school students’ learning outcomes and their understanding of ecosystem concepts.

Abstract

The limited integration of digital learning media incorporating local wisdom and ecoliteracy in elementary reading instruction motivated this study, which aimed to develop a valid, practical, and effective e-storybook for reading comprehension. This development research employed the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The study was conducted at SD Negeri Ulak Embacang, a rural elementary school in South Sumatra, involving fourth-grade students in small-group and field testing. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and pretest–posttest assessments, and analyzed using feasibility and practicality percentages alongside N-Gain scores. The developed e-storybook demonstrated high validity based on expert evaluations of content (96.6%), media (95%), and language (93.3%). Practicality testing yielded an average score of 91.55% in the small-group phase, indicating strong usability. Effectiveness results showed a significant improvement in students’ reading comprehension, with an N-Gain score of 0.84 (high category). The findings indicate that the e-storybook is a valid, practical, and effective digital learning medium. Its integration of local wisdom and ecoliteracy provides contextualized learning experiences that enhance comprehension while promoting digital literacy and environmental awareness among elementary students. Consequently, it offers a valuable instructional resource for teachers, particularly in rural educational settings.

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dirancang untuk menjawab tantangan pembelajaran di wilayah Desa Meranjat, khususnya dalam meningkatkan kualitas proses belajar mengajar di tingkat sekolah dasar. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal dan komunikasi dengan mitra sekolah, ditemukan adanya kebutuhan terhadap inovasi media pembelajaran yang lebih kontekstual, menarik, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik generasi digital masa kini. Solusi yang ditawarkan adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi Augmented Reality (AR) menggunakan aplikasi Asemblr. AR dipilih karena kemampuannya untuk memvisualisasikan materi ajar dalam bentuk objek 3D yang interaktif, yang dapat diakses langsung melalui kamera smartphone siswa. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan disusun secara sistematis dalam beberapa tahapan, yaitu: sosialisasi, pelatihan intensif penggunaan aplikasi Asemblr, penerapan media di kelas, evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test, serta pendampingan dan tindak lanjut berbasis komunitas guru. Proses ini melibatkan kolaborasi antara tim dosen, mahasiswa, dan guru mitra, serta menekankan pendekatan partisipatif. Pendekatan ini diharapkan mampu membentuk budaya reflektif dan inovatif dalam penggunaan teknologi pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Hasil kegiatan menunjukan bahwa guru-guru SD di Desa Meranjat dapat membuat media pembelajaran dengan teknologi AR melalui beberapa kali revisi yang diberikan. Selain itu, media tersebut juga digunakan dalam pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan media video dalam pembelajaran materi ekosistem guna meningkatkan literasi sains siswa sekolah dasar. Literasi sains merupakan kompetensi penting dalam pembelajaran abad ke-21 yang mencakup kemampuan memahami konsep ilmiah, berpikir kritis, serta menerapkan pengetahuan dalam kehidupan nyata. Namun, masih banyak siswa SD yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep ekosistem karena penyajian materi yang bersifat abstrak dan kurangnya media pembelajaran visual yang menarik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara guru, angket siswa, dan observasi proses pembelajaran. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa siswa dan guru sangat membutuhkan media video pembelajaran yang kontekstual, interaktif, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan anak. Video dengan durasi 5–10 menit, berisi animasi dan ilustrasi nyata, serta menggunakan bahasa yang sederhana dinilai efektif dalam meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi ekosistem. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pengembangan media video berbasis kebutuhan dapat menjadi alternatif strategis untuk meningkatkan literasi sains siswa SD secara signifikan. This study aims to analyze the need for video media in learning ecosystem material to improve elementary school students' scientific literacy. Scientific literacy is an important competency in 21st-century learning that includes the ability to understand scientific concepts, think critically, and apply knowledge in real life. However, many elementary school students still have difficulty in understanding the concept of ecosystems due to the presentation of abstract material and the lack of attractive visual learning media. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through teacher interviews, student questionnaires, and observations of the learning process. The results of the study indicate that students and teachers really need contextual, interactive learning video media that are in accordance with the characteristics of child development. Videos with a duration of 5-10 minutes, containing real animations and illustrations, and using simple language are considered effective in increasing students' interest and understanding of ecosystem material. These findings indicate that the development of needs-based video media can be a strategic alternative to significantly improve elementary school students' scientific literacy.

Abstract

There are still many teachers who have difficulty planning learning activities carefully. The majority of teachers do not complete the administration book because it has to be done manually. Therefore, this research aims to develop Google Sites-based teacher administration in elementary schools. This type of research is development research using the Rowntree model to produce and test products. Meanwhile, at the material evaluation stage, tessmer formative evaluation is used. This research involved material experts, language experts, design experts and practitioner experts. The subjects of this research were class and study teachers in elementary schools with a total of 21 people. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, documentation and tests. The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire sheet. Data were analyzed using qualitative, quantitative and N-gain descriptive analysis. The results of the practicality test at the one to one test stage obtained an average of 90.83% and the small group test obtained an average of 92.75% (very practical). The results of the effectiveness test on the pretest and posttest results with an average N-gain value of 0.74, high category. It can be concluded that teacher administration with Google Sites innovation in elementary schools is very valid and practical for teachers to use. This research has implications for the development of Google Sites-based teacher administration which in the future can improve teacher performance.

Abstract

The current problem is that many learning activities still need to utilize media as a learning support tool. This research aims to develop Electronic Student Worksheets (E-LKPD) in junior high school (SMP) science learning in science learning. This type of development research uses the Hannafin and Peck development model, which consists of needs analysis, development, design, implementation stages, and Tessmer evaluation. The population in this study was all Class VIII students, totalling 30 people. The research subjects were experts, including learning material experts, language experts, and learning media experts. The methods used in collecting data in this research were observation, interviews, questionnaires and tests. Data collection instruments include questionnaires and test questions. The techniques used to analyze the data are qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis and N-gain. The results of the research were that the assessment given by material experts was 86.67 (very valid), linguist experts 88.89 (very valid), and media experts 98.46% (very valid). The results of the practicality test show that the Electronic Student Worksheet (E-LKPD) in science learning is highly qualified. The results of the N-gain test show an increase in learning outcomes, and the medium category is obtained, so it is effective. It was concluded that E-LKPD using live worksheets as teaching materials can increase the value of students' learning outcomes. The implication of this research is that E-LKPD uses the live worksheet that was developed and can be used in learning.

Abstract

AbstractThe Covid-19 pandemic has affected various aspects of life, including education. For this reason, it is necessary for parents and students to work together to optimize the online learning process at home. This study aims to determine the self-efficacy of parents when helping elementary school children in doing online learning at home. This research is qualitative research approach with a descriptive quantitative analysis. The data collection method used a self-assessment questionnaire. The sample of this study was 150 parents of elementary school students, with various backgrounds and different school origins. Data were analyzed using percentage calculations. The scores were categorized by the scale and then described. The results of this study show that on average the parents of elementary school students, both in Indonesia and in the Philippines, have good motivation to help children learn from home. This can be seen from the data that the average motivation level of parents is in the good category (80.62%)Keywords: motivation, online learning, parents, self-efficacy. AbstrakPandemi Covid-19 telah mempengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk pendidikan. Untuk itu diperlukan kerjasama orang tua dan siswa untuk membantu mengoptimalkan proses pembelajaran online di rumah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efikasi diri orang tua dalam membantu anak sekolah dasar dalam melakukan pembelajaran online di rumah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan angket self-assessment. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 75 orang tua siswa sekolah dasar, dengan berbagai latar belakang dan asal sekolah yang berbeda. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan perhitungan persentase. Skor dikategorikan berdasarkan skala kemudian dideskripsikan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata orang tua siswa SD baik di Indonesia maupun di Filipina memiliki motivasi yang baik untuk membantu anak belajar dari rumah. Hal ini terlihat dari data bahwa rata-rata tingkat motivasi orang tua sebesar berada dalam kategori baik (80,62%).Kata kunci: motivasi, pembelajaran online, orang tua, self-efikasi.

Abstract

The modern curriculum necessitates a fundamental shift in IPAS instruction from rote memorization to deep learning of concepts; however, field implementation often remains superficial. Furthermore, while the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model is effective, teachers frequently encounter constraints in designing contextual scenarios that ensure that deep learning occurs. Consequently, this research aims to analyze the specific necessities for developing a PBL model based on deep learning for primary school IPAS subjects. This qualitative descriptive study involved 32 teachers and 171 Grade 4 students at primary schools, utilizing comprehensive questionnaires to assess needs across cognitive, pedagogical, technical, socio-cultural, and evaluative dimensions. The analysis reveals that all surveyed aspects fall into the “High Need” category. Specifically, teachers prioritized evaluation (97.75%) and pedagogical (93.35%) aspects, highlighting a critical demand for increased competence in authentic assessment and innovative strategies. Similarly, students indicated urgent needs in evaluative (97.07%) and technical (94.38%) domains. These findings confirm a significant gap in current instructional practices. It is concluded that developing a PBL–Deep Learning model that integrates local socio-cultural contexts with authentic, supportive evaluation instruments is essential to enhance students' conceptual mastery and facilitate effective teaching.

Abstract

This study uses the Research and Development method which is applied to product assembly skills. This research targets the students of class XII TKR SMKN 1 Sungai Lilin. The research model used was Alessi & Trollip, while the validators came from experts in their respective fields related to this research: material, media, and language experts. This research has produced a valid, practical, and effective product on the product assembly skills e-job sheet to increase the effectiveness of Vocational High School students practice. Material professional validation acquired a rating of 87.2, media professional 87.1, and linguist 88.3 in order that the product evolved became a totally valid category, with a practicality degree of 83.4 labeled as very practical, and an e-job sheet with a powerful live worksheet for growing the meeting of items merchandise with a cost of tcount > ttabel, specifically 16.491 > 2.015 or sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05.

Abstract

The creation of interactive video-based learning materials utilizing Adobe Animate CC 2022 was conducted and implemented in the context of the Indonesian language curriculum. This research aims to develop interactive video-based learning resources that are valid, practical, and effective for teaching short story writing. The development process followed the ADDIE model, which encompasses five phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Evaluation methods included expert validation, one-on-one assessments, small group evaluations, and field tests. The findings indicated that the material's validity was rated at 90%, categorized as very valid; the media's validity was assessed at 87%, classified as highly valid; and the language component received a validity score of 88%, also deemed very valid. The average validity across the three assessments was 88%, falling within the very valid category. In terms of practicality, the one-on-one evaluation yielded a score of 86%, categorized as very practical, while the small group assessment achieved a score of 98%, classified as highly practical. The overall average practicality score was 92%, indicating a very hands-on approach. To assess media effectiveness, pretest results were 56%, while posttest results reached 96%, demonstrating significant learning outcomes for students, with an N-Gain score of 0.92. Consequently, the interactive video-based learning materials developed with Adobe Animate CC 2022 successfully engaged students and can be effectively utilized to enhance the Indonesian language curriculum, particularly in short story writing for fifth-grade elementary school students.
