Abstract

The Protestant Reformation had a significant impact on the development of Christian theology, especially in the field of Christology. This study aims to examine the thoughts of Martin Luther and John Calvin regarding the role of Christ in the process of human salvation. The method used is a qualitative approach with a literature study technique, which examines the theological works of the two Reformers. The results of the study show that Luther emphasized the personal relationship between humans and Christ as savings, as well as the real presence of Christ in the sacrament as a form of God's grace that can be experienced personally. Meanwhile, Calvin developed the concept of three placements of Christ as prophet, priest, and king which emphasized the overall role of Christ in salvation, and viewed the sacrament as a spiritual means to strengthen the faith of believers. Through this study, it can be concluded that Christology in the Reformation tradition provides a strong, systematic, and relevant theological basis for the development of contemporary Protestant teachings, both in doctrinal aspects and the practice of life of faith.

Abstract

This study examines the spread of Christianity by the Kingdom of God in Central Kalimantan, focusing on its history, challenges, and impact on local communities. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and document studies. The analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the spread of Christianity by the Kingdom of God was influenced by social, cultural, and political factors. The main challenges included local cultural resistance, social dynamics, and changing government policies. However, the teachings and values established have persisted in society to this day. These findings provide new insights into the interaction between religion and culture in the local historical context and its contribution to community identity. The implications of this research can serve as a reference for understanding religious dissemination patterns and preserving religious values amidst social changes.

Abstract

In the historical and theological context, the Kingdom of God is understood not as a political or geographical kingdom, but as a spiritual reality present in human life and history. Through an analysis of Mark 1:15, this journal explains that the coming of Jesus signifies the fulfillment of God's plan of salvation and calls people to repent and believe in the gospel. This study also highlights Jesus' use of parables, such as the parable of the mustard seed and the growing seed, which illustrate the growth and characteristics of the Kingdom of God. By emphasizing the importance of repentance and faith, the results of the teachings indicate that the Kingdom of God is cultivating spiritual change in individuals. The conclusions obtained imply that although the Kingdom of God is already present, its full realization still awaits fulfillment in the future. Therefore, this paper recommends that Christians dig deeper into the concept of the Kingdom of God, improving their understanding and application of Kingdom values in daily life as a response to Jesus' teachings.

Abstract

The concept of the Kingdom of God in Matthew's Gospel is a central theme of the Teaching of Jesus Christ. The Kingdom of God can be understood as the reign of God that has entered this age through the presence of Jesus and will be perfect at His second coming. This research aims to understand the concept of the Kingdom of God in the Gospel of Matthew and its implications for the lives of believers. This research method uses textual and historical analysis to understand the concept of the Kingdom of God in the Gospel of Matthew. The results of the study show that the Kingdom of God has some very special characteristics, such as a government that is sinless and not weak before God, full of the Holy Spirit, and has great power to do extraordinary things.Jesus taught the concept of God's Kingdom through compelling parables and demonstrated important aspects of God's Kingdom. This research also shows that the coming of God's Kingdom refers to the second coming of Jesus, in which the Kingdom will be present in full power. Abstract

This study examines the concept of the Kingdom of God in Peter's teachings within the early church, influenced by the Pentecost event. The aim of the research is to understand how Peter's teachings on the Kingdom of God evolved and were applied, as well as his role in the spread of the Gospel to both Jews and Gentiles. The method employed is a qualitative approach with literature study, analyzing biblical texts and related theological sources. Findings indicate that Peter's teachings emphasize the inclusivity of the Kingdom of God and the importance of living in holiness. Additionally, the research reveals that the persecution faced by the early church actually accelerated the growth of the Kingdom of God. The implications of this study provide a deeper understanding of the relevance of Peter's teachings for the development of contemporary church theology and practice.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the principle of perseverance taught by Elijah through his exemplary life, explain Elijah's strategies in facing life's challenges, and identify the meaning of Elijah's faith and its relevance to everyday life. Elijah demonstrated extraordinary perseverance in his obedience to God, as seen in his story in 1 Kings 17:1-6. He remained faithful to the mission given by God, despite facing various challenges, including spiritual conflict, physical threats, social isolation, and inner turmoil. The pinnacle of Elijah's faith is seen in his confrontation with the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, where Elijah challenged idol worship with a strong conviction in God's power. Elijah's experience teaches the importance of maintaining faith in the midst of challenges, consistency in pursuing goals, and nurturing a personal relationship with God as a source of strength. Elijah's life also has relevance in the modern context, especially in terms of empowering leadership, spiritual integrity, moral courage, and commitment to divine truth..

Abstract

This study aims to examine the life and influence of Simon Petrus, one of the closest disciples of Jesus Christ, in the context of Christian theology. From an ordinary fisherman, Petrus underwent a significant transformation into an early Church leader, marked by the change of his name to "Petrus," meaning "rock." This study explores Petrus important role in the spread of the gospel and the development of Christian doctrine, as well as the impact of his teachings on the understanding of Christian faith today. The method used is a qualitative approach with an analysis of literature, including biblical texts and relevant theological sources. The findings show that Petrus experience of denying Jesus and his restoration after Jesus' resurrection reflect human vulnerability and the power of forgiveness. Petrus teaching on salvation through faith is the basis for many Christian doctrines, including the concepts of redemption and eternal life. This study concludes that a deeper understanding of Petrus authority and role in various Christian traditions can provide valuable insights for modern church practice, as well as emphasize the importance of forgiveness and perseverance in faith for Christians today.

Abstract

This library research examines the doctrine of Christ (Christology) in systematic theology, focusing on the union of His divinity and humanity, His work of salvation, and its relevance for contemporary believers. The study aims to provide a systematic understanding of Christ's identity and work based on biblical foundations and historical church confessions, such as the Councils of Nicaea and Chalcedon. The findings indicate that the orthodox understanding of Christ as true God and true man is the foundational pillar for soteriology and Christian life. His work of salvation through substitutionary atonement and resurrection achieves redemption, reconciliation, and life transformation. Furthermore, this doctrine has significant practical relevance, serving as a basis for personal faith, strengthening church teaching and mission, and providing ethical guidance in modern societal contexts. A correct understanding of Christology is crucial to fortify faith against theological error and to live out a Christ-centered life.

Abstract

This article examines the signs of the Antichrist's presence from a biblical eschatological perspective. Using a theological approach and literature review, this study outlines the concept of the Antichrist as a manifestation of rebellion and misguidance against Christ. This study shows that the Antichrist is a symbol of resistance against God that will emerge before Christ's second coming to deceive believers. Through an analysis of biblical texts, particularly from 1 John, 2 Thessalonians, and Revelation, this study concludes that the presence of the Antichrist serves as a warning for believers to remain faithful, vigilant, and strong in their faith. The implications of this study encourage Christians to strengthen their faith and live according to the truth of God's word while awaiting Christ's return.
