Abstract

Pedagogic competencies are urgently needed by teachers, but unfortunately, learning in tertiary institutions is not fully capable of forming these competencies. There are several problems that are often experienced, but several universities certainly have their own efforts to overcome them. This study aims to analyze the problems of pedagogic competence of prospective PAI educators, efforts to establish pedagogic competence of prospective PAI educators, and success factors in efforts to establish pedagogic competence of prospective PAI educators. The research was carried out at the PAI STAI Sumatra Medan study program using a qualitative research type based on a case study approach. Research informants, namely study program leaders, lecturers, and students of the PAI study program, The results of the study reveal that: (1) the problems of pedagogic competence in PAI educator candidates, namely the distribution of subjects that are not dominant in pedagogic competence, learning is not yet fully practical or field study in nature, prospective educators master the material but it is difficult to manage learning, prospective educators often apply style classical teaching, domination of mastery of western-based pedagogical competencies; (2) efforts to establish the pedagogic competence of prospective PAI educators are carried out in four steps, namely updating the curriculum, establishing a laboratory tsanawiyah madrasah, skill-based learning orientation, forming an integration-based academic culture; (3) the success factor in the effort to establish competence can be seen from the positive student response to the various steps implemented by the study program leaders, especially the establishment of a laboratory tsanawiyah madrasah.

Abstract

The worship and remembrance practicum program is meant to help students to internalize religious values. This study was conducted at MIS Al-Washliyah Insanul Kamil located in Melati Kebun, Pegajahan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency; by using qualitative methods and a phenomenological approach. The sources of data in this study consisted of school principals, teachers of worship and remembrance practicum programs, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation analysis. The purpose of this study focused on background, strategies for internalizing religious character in students, as well as inhibiting and supporting factors in the prayer and remembrance practicum program. The findings of the analysis showed that the background of the program is based on the awareness of the importance of providing in-depth guidance regarding worship and remembrance toward students in daily life to create perfect people. The internalization strategy is carried out through the program and interspersed with advice regarding the primacy of the material being taught. Supporting factors in the program include students who are guided by competent teachers, while the inhibiting factor is the lack of supporting tools that have not been fulfilled such as the torso.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the emergence of learning obstacles experienced by students at MAS PAB 4 Klumpang. This research uses qualitative methods with the type of field research and descriptive methods. Data collection by observation, interviews, and documentation. This study produced several findings, namely: (1) Factors causing saturation of learning SKI (History of Islamic Culture) experienced by grade XI students include: experiencing fatigue in the body due to carrying out routine activities, fatigue felt by limbs such as fingers and toes due to a lot of writing, looking weak and there are students who put their heads on the table when the teacher is explaining due to the teacher's lack of attention to Students, experiencing lazy learning due to food intake that is not good for the body and the absence of effective methods carried out by teachers. (2) Variations of digital-based learning methods and media in reducing SKI learning saturation by Giving Assignments to Students, Increasing Teacher Attention to Students, Learning Outside the Classroom, Adding Reading Resources or SKI Learning References (3) Learning achievement with a variety of digital-based learning methods and media in MAS PAB 4 Klumpang schools. Personalized Learning, Breadth of Information, More Interesting Lessons,  Develop Accountability, Learning Flexibility, Recorded Content, 24-Hour Resources, Connected Learning, Easily Track Student Progress, and Improve Written Language Skills.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the problems of student concentration in Islamic Cultural History (SKI) lessons at MTs Nurul Iman Tanjung Morawa and explore the causes and strategies teachers use to overcome them. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interviews, and documentation methods, this study found that low student concentration is influenced by a combination of internal and external factors. Internal factors include low motivation, varying cognitive readiness, and unstable emotional conditions, while external factors include monotonous learning methods, limited learning media, and distractions from the environment and the use of gadgets. The manifestation of these problems can be seen through students' passive behavior, boredom, and difficulty in understanding and remembering the subject matter. Teachers play an active role in overcoming this through the application of varied learning methods, the use of visual media, the provision of motivation, and the creation of an interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere. The results of this study confirm that improving student concentration requires synergy between teachers, the school environment, and family support in order to create meaningful and effective SKI learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penanaman karakter budaya Islami peserta didik melalui penerapan budaya Islami di SMP Ira Medan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji keabsahan data, dan trianggulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sholat Dhuha setiap hari, sholat Dzuhur berjama’ah, mata pelajaran Pendidikan Al-Qur’an dan muhasabah pada peserta didik setiap hari Jumat pekan 3 setiap bulan yang dapat membentuk karakter Islami peserta didik terhadap aspek sifat kejujuran (shiiddiq), ketika diberi tugas oleh guru siswa tidak menyontek kepada temannya dan mengerjakan tugas sekolah sendiri apa adanya, sifat amanah, ketika guru memberikan tanggung jawab kepada siswa seperti menepati janji untuk mengerjakan tugas pekerjaan rumah (PR) sesuai dengan waktu yang ditetapkan guru, sikap sabar dalam menunut ilmu dengan lapang dada dan bertanya kepada guru ketika belum memahami pelajaran, sifat bersyukur dengan nilai raport yang diberikan guru sebagai hasil belajar siswa untuk  membentuk motivasi belajar siswa, sifat Ikhlas tertanam pada peserta didik melalui kegiatan sedekah Jumat di sekolah dan sikap rendah hati serta tidak sombong  untuk sama-sama belajar, berkomunikasi dan memecahkan masalah dengan kekompakan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi kurikulum berbasis KKNI pada Program Studi Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di FAI UMSU, FAI UISU, dan FITK UIN SU, dengan fokus pada mekanisme perubahan kurikulum, model pengembangan dan penyusunan kurikulum, serta penerapan kurikulum berbasis KKNI. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD), kemudian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan variasi penerapan: di PAI FAI UISU, implementasi kurikulum masih terbatas karena kurangnya koordinasi yang efektif antara pimpinan fakultas, pimpinan program studi, dan dosen, sehingga hanya sebagian kecil dosen yang menerapkan KKNI; di PAI FAI UMSU, semua dosen telah menerapkan KKNI dengan dukungan dari kepemimpinan yang tegas, tim monitoring dan evaluasi (MONEV), serta fasilitas yang memadai; sementara di PAI FITK UIN SU, kurangnya kebijakan yang tegas dan fasilitas pendukung menyebabkan implementasi kurikulum oleh dosen tidak merata.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the Integrated Islamic School Network (JSIT) Curriculum in collaboration with the Merdeka Curriculum in improving the quality of education at Al Izzah Integrated Islamic Private High School. The study used qualitative methods with observation, interviews, and documentation techniques with the principal, vice principal for curriculum, and teachers. The results showed that the curriculum implementation at Al Izzah IT High School was carried out through three main aspects: planning, implementation, and assessment. In the planning stage, teachers are required to develop learning tools that integrate the learning outcomes of the Merdeka Curriculum with the Islamic values contained in the JSIT Curriculum. In the implementation stage, learning begins with habituation of worship such as prayer, reading Al-Matsurat, and linking material to verses of the Qur’an and hadith. In addition, the school also develops flagship programs such as Tahfidz and Tahsin Al-Qur’an, mentoring and extracurricular sunnah (archery). In the assessment stage, teachers assess students holistically covering academic aspects, attitudes, discipline, and religiosity. The implementation of this curriculum has been proven to be able to improve the academic quality, Islamic character, and social competence of students so that the school’s vision, namely to form an Islamic, superior, and globally-minded generation, can be achieved.

Abstract

Character education has become one of the main focuses in the national education system and Islamic education in Indonesia because the increasingly complex challenges of the times demand the emergence of a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent but also strong in moral, spiritual, and social aspects. This study aims to analyze the forms of integration of Islamic educational values applied in the character building of students. The Islamic educational values integrated into the educational process in the character building of students at vocational schools in Medan City. The research methodology used is descriptive qualitative with a multi-site approach at vocational schools in Medan City, namely SMK Asga Mandiri and SMK Al-Razi. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies, analyzed thematically through reduction, categorization, and interpretation, with triangulation validation. The results of the study show that the integration of Islamic educational values in vocational schools in Medan, particularly at SMK Asga Mandiri and SMK Al-Razi, is carried out through three main pillars: learning, habituation, and school culture. Spiritual, moral, social, and professional values are internalized in all educational activities. Teachers play a central role as role models and spiritual guides in instilling Islamic values in a contextual manner. Despite facing obstacles such as environmental influences and limited resources, this integration has a significant impact on improving students' religiosity, discipline, honesty, and responsibility, as well as shaping their character to be noble, ethical, and have Islamic integrity. The integration of Islam through learning, habituation, and school culture is effective in shaping students' character to be moral, disciplined, and have Islamic integrity
