Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of workload and technostress on employee performance with work motivation as an intervening variable at Prof. Dr. HB Saanin Mental Hospital, Padang. This research was motivated by fluctuations in organizational performance achievement, increasing demands for mental health services, and the implementation of hospital digital systems that potentially create technology-based work pressure. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of all employees at Prof. Dr. HB Saanin Mental Hospital, Padang, with a total sample of 80 respondents selected through purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS). The results indicate that: (1) workload has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, (2) workload has a positive and significant effect on work motivation, (3) technostress has no significant effect on employee performance, (4) technostress has no significant effect on work motivation, (5) work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, (6) work motivation is able to mediate the effect of workload on employee performance, and (7) work motivation is not able to mediate the effect of technostress on employee performance. These findings suggest that workload management and enhancement of work motivation are crucial factors in improving employee performance in mental hospitals, while technostress was not proven to have a significant influence in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of digital competence and leadership style on employee performance through digital transformation as an intervening variable at the Department of Livestock and Animal Health of West Sumatra Province. A quantitative survey approach was employed. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0. The results indicate that digital competence has a positive and significant effect on digital transformation (β = 0.502; t = 4.408; p < 0.05). Leadership style also positively and significantly influences digital transformation. Digital competence significantly affects employee performance. However, leadership style has a negative and insignificant effect on employee performance. Digital transformation does not mediate the relationship between digital competence or leadership style and employee performance. The R² value of employee performance is 0.816, indicating strong explanatory power. The findings suggest that strengthening digital competence directly improves public employee performance rather than relying on digital transformation mediation mechanisms.

Abstract

The development of information technology in the digital era encourages the retail sector to optimize the use of Management Information Systems (MIS) to improve operational efficiency and competitiveness. Citra Swalayan Muaro, as one of the local retail businesses, faces increasingly intense competition and therefore requires an integrated and accurate information management system to support transaction processes, inventory management, and the preparation of reports quickly and accurately. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method to analyze the implementation of the existing system. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the implementation of MIS is able to increase transaction speed, minimize errors in stock recording, and provide more accurate and real-time sales information. This improvement in operational efficiency contributes to strengthening competitiveness through more responsive services, more effective cost control, and data-based decision making. However, system optimization still requires improved integration between departments and the strengthening of human resource competencies so that the use of technology can be maximized.
