Abstract

The use of digital learning media in Social Studies (IPS) instruction remains limited, resulting in teacher-centered learning and insufficient contextual learning experiences for students. This study aimed to develop a Virtual Tour-based learning media featuring the Joko Dolog Statue as a local wisdom-based learning resource for Social Studies and to examine its feasibility and effectiveness in improving students' learning outcomes. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, consisting of the stages of analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The participants were 35 eighth-grade students of SMP Islam Shafta Surabaya in the 2026/2027 academic year. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and learning achievement tests. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, a paired sample t-test, and the N-Gain index. The results indicated that the developed media met the feasibility criteria based on expert validation. Student and teacher responses reached 84.36% and 93.75%, respectively, both categorized as very good. The mean score increased from 58.71 on the pretest to 85.57 on the posttest. The N-Gain score of 0.70 indicated that the media was moderately effective, while the paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant improvement in learning outcomes after the implementation of the media. These findings demonstrate that the Virtual Tour-based Joko Dolog learning media is feasible and effective as a local wisdom-based Social Studies learning resource to enhance students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of mastering soft skills in increasing students' work readiness in the midst of the increasingly competitive demands of the world of work. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of communication skills, teamwork, adaptation, problem-solving, and work ethics on the work readiness of social studies education students of the State University of Surabaya. The approach used is quantitative with the survey method. The research sample amounted to 200 active students of the Social Studies Education Study Program, State University of Surabaya, class of 2022 and 2023, who were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data was collected through questionnaire deployment and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the help of SmartPLS 4.0. The results of the study showed that the level of student job readiness was in the medium category of 69.9% and the research model had met the Goodness of Fit criteria. In addition, communication skills, teamwork, adaptation, problem-solving, and work ethics have been proven to have a positive and significant effect on student work readiness. The findings show that the mastery of soft skills contributes to increasing the work readiness of social studies education students at the State University of Surabaya.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology necessitates learning innovations capable of enhancing students' interest and learning outcomes, particularly in Social Studies (IPS). This study aims to determine the impact of interactive video-based multimedia on the interest and learning outcomes of 7th-grade students at SMPN 1 Kedungadem, Bojonegoro. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental design—specifically, the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study involved 56 students divided into an experimental class (VII A) and a control class (VII B). Data collection was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests, learning interest questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Data analysis utilized normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent sample t-tests, paired sample t-tests, and N-Gain tests, processed using SPSS version 25. The results indicate that interactive video-based multimedia had a positive and significant effect on students' interest and learning outcomes, with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). The increase in interest and learning outcomes in the experimental class fell into the high category, whereas the control class fell into the medium category. Thus, interactive video-based multimedia is effective for use in Social Studies instruction to enhance student engagement and learning achievement.

Abstract

Terletak di Lereng Gunung Lawu, Magetan, Jawa Timur, Desa Genilangit memiliki panorama dataran tinggi yang mengagumkan. Salah satu dusunnya, yakni Wonomulyo menjadi destinasi wisata yang menarik minat para pengunjung. Namun, tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa minimnya pengelolaan informasi di media terkait wisata di lokasi tersebut menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi pemerintah desa untuk terus berupaya mempromosikan desa wisata Genilangit. Terlepas dari keberagaman dan keindahan alamnya, desa Genilangit juga masih menghadapi masalah digitalisasi dan tidak stabilnya akses internet karena lokasi geografisnya yang berada pada ketinggian 1300 Mdpl, sehingga masyarakat sulit menerima informasi melalui media digital. Akses tersebut selayaknya dapat diselaraskan dengan keterampilan masyarakatnya dalam mencari dan menyebarkan informasi terkait potensi desa mereka. Kurangnya literasi digital pada masyarakat desa Genilangit dapat diatasi dengan diadakannya pelatihan literasi digital yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat desa dan juga perangkat desanya dalam menghadapi tantangan laju informasi di media digital dan juga menggunakannya untuk mempromosikan potensi wisata di desa tersebut. Pada tanggal 17 Juni 2025 Pelatihan Literasi Digital yang dilakukan oleh tim PKM Rintisan Desa Pancasila Universitas Negeri Surabaya berhasil melibatkan lebih 50 orang masyarakat dari berbagai unsur untuk memperoleh pemahaman terkait Literasi Digital di Balai Desa Genilangit, Magetan.

Water-resource sustainability requires management that integrates physical conditions with historical and socio-cultural dimensions. This study analyzes the spatial characteristics, historical development, and community phenomenology supporting the conservation of Jolotundo Spring. A concurrent mixed-methods design combined pH, TDS, topographic, and vegetation measurements at eight observation points with spatial analysis, field observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with six informants. The main Jolotundo points recorded TDS values of 46–54 ppm, pH values of 6.45–7.45, dense vegetation dominated by bamboo and banyan, and steep-slope topography. Historically and phenomenologically, sacred values and community experiences have shaped culture-based conservation practices. Jolotundo should therefore be managed through an integrated ecological, historical, and participatory approach.
