Abstract

The moral and ethical crisis among students is increasingly becoming a serious concern in the world of education today. Various problems such as bullying, dishonesty and misuse of technology reflect the lack of strong character formation in the younger generation. This article aims to examine the role of Islamic education in shaping the character of students through the application of Islamic moral and ethical teachings, which focus on noble character, consistency in worship, and the principles of justice. This approach not only focuses on intellectual aspects, but also strengthens students' positive character and behavior, which is expected to be a solution to the moral and ethical crisis that is occurring. It is hoped that this study can find effective methods in implementing Islamic education to form a young generation with integrity and responsibility.

Abstract

In implementing an independent curriculum, educators are expected to be able to meet the learning needs of each student with different characteristics. To realize the expected learning objectives of differentiated learning is the right idea. But the facts show that it is still rare for teachers to be willing to work on this because they do not have a clear concept to carry it out. This study aims to fulfill the implementation of differentiated learning in Islamic Religious Education subjects at SMAS Bina Putera-Kopo. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Research that uses hypothesis testing through data on words compiled, and data can be compiled for analysis using narrative descriptions. This study found that in an effort to implement differentiation, the following steps are needed; first, planning is carried out by mapping the initial abilities of students, what must be learned is interest and readiness to learn and determine essential material in learning outcomes; Second, it performs three components, namely the differentiation of content, processes, and products. Third, conduct an evaluation to determine the effectiveness and success rate of the objectives of the learning carried out. The researcher concluded that differentiation learning in Islamic Religious Education subjects provides an opportunity to learn naturally, starting from the initial ability of each student. The success of differentiated learning implementation is obtained due to the support of good communication and collaboration between both parties, namely the school and parents.

Abstract

This study systematically synthesizes the prophetic values embedded in leadership models for Islamic higher education and analyzes their alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Conducting a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) via the PRISMA protocol, the study reviews thirty-six peer-reviewed publications from Scopus, DOAJ, and Google Scholar spanning 2009–2024, focusing on leadership, ethics, innovation, sustainability, and Islamic higher education. The investigation identifies three central themes: the integration of ṣidq (truthfulness) and amānah (trustworthiness) in institutional governance and culture; the application of fatanāh (wisdom) and tablīgh (effective communication) in developing value-driven curricula, green campus initiatives, and ethical research management; and the use of adālah (justice) and shūrā (consultation) for participatory decision making. These findings suggest that prophetic leadership directly supports SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). The review concludes that prophetic leadership offers an innovative, ethically robust, and adaptive framework for reforming Islamic higher education towards sustainable development, expanding value-based leadership theory, and recommending practical directions for curriculum, leadership training, and governance, while highlighting pathways for further empirical study in organizational performance and SDG impact assessment.

Abstract

Education in this country until now is still overshadowed by various problems. These multiple problems have serious consequences for the quality of education. In this case, the leadership aspect is part of the pillars supporting education. Prophetic leadership is the ideal form of leadership, which, of course, influences the quality of education, especially teacher competence. The author is interested in conducting a correlational study of prophetic leadership and teacher competence to examine how prophetic leadership relates to and contributes to teacher competence. The method used in this research is the quantitative correlation method. This research shows that prophetic leadership significantly influences teacher competence. Based on the results of the correlation test, both at MTsN 1 Serang City and at SMPN 1 Baros Serang Regency, the prophetic leadership of educational institution heads significantly contributes to PAI teachers' competency. Still, the degree of correlation differs between the two. The prophetic leadership of the head of the institution at SMPN 1 Baros, Serang Regency, shows a strong correlation. In contrast, at MTsN 1 Serang City, the correlation is moderate. Future research should include a larger, more diverse sample, examine longitudinal data, and consider additional qualitative dimensions to capture better how prophetic leadership influences teacher competence development across various educational settings. This study is limited to two academic institutions in Serang, making broad generalizations difficult. It also does not account for potential moderating factors such as institutional culture, teacher demographics, or leadership training experiences.

Abstract

This study examined the effect of classroom management on teacher performance in a State Islamic Elementary School (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri) in Tangerang Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative survey design was used, involving 155 teachers selected through proportional random sampling from a population of 252 teachers. Data were collected using a validated questionnaire measuring classroom management and teacher performance, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. The results indicated that classroom management had a positive and statistically significant effect on teacher performance (β = 0.366, t = 6.502, p < 0.001). The regression model explained 35.5% of the variance in teacher performance (R² = 0.355), indicating moderate explanatory power. These findings suggest that effective classroom organization, behavior management, and instructional structuring contribute substantially to teacher professional effectiveness. The study concludes that strengthening classroom management competencies is crucial for improving teacher performance in Islamic elementary schools. Practical implications highlight the importance of targeted professional development and instructional supervision focused on classroom-based practices.

Abstract

In facing the demands of globalisation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Islamic education in Indonesia encounters challenges to remain relevant by preserving religious values while responding to the need for practical skills. This study aims to explore the transformation of Islamic education in Indonesia, particularly in the context of the shift from the scholarly tradition of tafaqquh fiddin (deep understanding of religion) to applied sciences. The research evaluates how Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), Islamic schools (madrasah), and Islamic higher education institutions (PTKI, or Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam) adapt to the demands of globalisation and modern economic developments requiring practical and professional skills. This study employs a qualitative approach by analysing literature, curricula, and policies related to Islamic education in Indonesia. Data were collected from various sources such as journals, books, and policy documents. The findings reveal that Islamic education in Indonesia has undergone significant transformation. Pesantren have begun integrating vocational skills such as agribusiness and information technology, madrasah have broadened their focus to include academic education and practical skills, while PTKI have adopted non-religious programmes such as economics and health sciences. This transformation has produced graduates who not only possess profound religious understanding but also practical skills relevant to the modern job market. The study underscores the importance of integrating religious education with applied sciences to ensure the relevance of Islamic education in the modern era. These findings provide a foundation for the development of adaptive educational policies, such as competency-based curricula and support for vocational education. This research also offers a unique contribution to the literature on Islamic education by highlighting a significant shift in the scholarly tradition in Indonesia, particularly in balancing religious values with applicative skills for success in the professional world.
