Abstract

Abstract

The Guci Sehati Farmer Group in Nagari Lasi faces several fundamental challenges in their agricultural practices, one of which is dependence on synthetic chemical fertilizers. These fertilizers lead to high production costs and trigger degradation of the soil's physical, chemical, and biological structure. The lack of knowledge about using nature-based materials is a challenge for implementing cultivation practices in this farmer group. Additionally, there is an abundance of locally available organic materials such as agricultural waste, weeds, and livestock manure that have not been optimally utilized for producing environmentally friendly fertilizers. This community service program focuses on technical mentoring for making Tithonia-based compost at the Guci Sehati Farmer Group, Kanagarian Lasi, Agam Regency. The main problems faced by partners are high dependency on synthetic chemical fertilizers, expensive agricultural inputs, and suboptimal utilization of local biomass such as Tithonia diversifolia which is abundant in the surrounding environment. The aim of this activity is to empower farmers with skills to make quality organic fertilizer to create more sustainable and independent agriculture. The implementation method includes three main stages: (1) socialization and direct demonstration of Tithonia composting techniques, (2) participatory assistance during the fermentation and turning process, and (3) monitoring and evaluation of compost quality. The mentoring results showed a significant increase in farmers' capacity, where all participants successfully produced Tithonia compost that met physical quality standards, namely dark brown color, crumbly texture, stable temperature, and no odor. The conclusion of this activity is that participatory technical assistance is effective in transferring Tithonia composting technology, reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers, and optimizing local resources, thus directly contributing to strengthening food sovereignty and implementing sustainable agriculture at the farmer level.

Abstract

The transition to renewable energy is a global effort to combat climate change and provide sustainable energy. One of the technologies that is developing is the use of solar power plants (SPP), which are capable of providing clean and environmentally friendly energy. This study aims to analyse the performance of the PLTS system in operating two types of electric motors, namely DC (Direct Current) motors and AC (Alternating Current) motors, with the assistance of an inverter. The experiment was conducted using an off-grid PV system with batteries and a solar charge controller (SCC). Measurements were taken of the voltage, current, and power of each system. The results showed that the AC motor produced greater power (86.3 W) after passing through the inverter compared to the DC motor, which only produced 18.4 W. This study provides insights into selecting the appropriate motor type for solar power systems to ensure efficiency and support SDG 7 targets.

Abstract

Sustainability has become a major challenge for waqf institutions, as faith-based nonprofit organizations are required to preserve assets perpetually while delivering long-term socio-economic benefits. Many waqf institutions, however, face constraints such as limited innovation, weak governance, and increasing investment and asset risks. This study aims to examine the influence of innovation and governance on the sustainability of waqf institutions, with investment risk and asset risk serving as mediating mechanisms within the framework of maqasid al-shariah. A qualitative multiple case study approach was employed, focusing on Muhammadiyah waqf management units in West Java, Indonesia. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and were analyzed using thematic analysis with triangulation procedures to ensure credibility. Findings indicate that innovation enhances operational efficiency, financial resilience, and social impact, while governance strengthens transparency, accountability, and institutional trust. However, innovation also increases exposure to investment and asset risks, which must be managed through effective governance and risk management. The study concludes that sustainable waqf management is achieved through a balanced integration of innovation, governance, and risk management in accordance with maqasid al-shariah principles.

Abstract

Flood disasters that struck Langsa City, particularly Matang Seulimeng Village, have led to a logistics crisis and the paralysis of economic activities for the affected communities. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to provide rapid intervention through emergency food assistance to ensure the food security of residents during the emergency response period. This program was implemented through a strategic collaboration between Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK Charity House) and Universitas Negeri Gorontalo (UNG) as a tangible manifestation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The methods employed include the preparation phase (data verification), the distribution phase (direct door-to-door delivery), and the evaluation phase. The results of the activity indicate that 20 packages of basic food assistance were successfully distributed to the 20 most affected households. This assistance proved capable of meeting the residents' basic nutritional needs during the flood isolation period while providing significant psychosocial support. The conclusion of this activity is that inter-university synergy is highly effective in accelerating humanitarian responses in disaster-prone areas. Suggestions for future activities include the need to develop a more integrated community-based disaster mitigation system to enhance the resilience of coastal communities in the future.

Abstract

This study examines the paradox of digital workplace transformation where efficiency-driven technologies often dehumanize workers. Using qualitative library research and content analysis, the study identifies a humanitarian crisis in automation marked by algorithmic pressure, cognitive alienation, and weak legal protection for digital workers. The findings emphasize the need to rehumanize virtual workspaces by integrating ethics, aesthetics, and algorithmic justice through digital empathy and human-centered design. The research proposes an empathetic technology management model that prioritizes human well-being alongside productivity, promotes empathy-based leadership, and strengthens humanistic digital literacy. The study concludes that shifting from efficiency to empathy requires structural, managerial, and regulatory changes, supported by technology audits, HR policy reform, leadership training, and multi-stakeholder collaboration to create a fair and humane digital work environment
