Abstract

Food security has emerged as a critical global issue, particularly in urban areas experiencing rapid population growth, land scarcity, and ecological challenges. Urban farming is increasingly recognized as an innovative and sustainable solution to strengthen food security in cities. However, discussions on urban farming often focus on technical and economic dimensions, while ethical and spiritual perspectives—especially from Islamic teachings—remain underexplored. This study aims to examine food security ethics and urban farming practices from the perspective of the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Using a qualitative library-based research method, this study employs a thematic (maudhu‘i) hadith analysis to identify prophetic traditions related to food production, environmental stewardship, self-sufficiency, moderation, and social responsibility. The findings reveal that the Hadith strongly encourages productive land use, even in limited spaces, emphasizes the moral obligation to ensure food availability, and promotes sustainable interaction with nature. Principles such as avoiding waste (israf), maintaining balance (mizan), fostering communal welfare, and ensuring justice in food distribution are deeply embedded in prophetic teachings. Urban farming, when viewed through this ethical framework, is not merely an agricultural practice but a form of worship (‘ibadah) and social responsibility that aligns with Islamic values. This study contributes to interdisciplinary discourse by integrating Islamic ethical perspectives with contemporary urban food systems and offers a normative foundation for developing faith-based food security policies. The findings are expected to enrich Islamic studies, environmental ethics, and sustainable urban development, particularly in Muslim-majority urban contexts. Abstract

Berdasarkan observasi yang dilakukan pada siswa kelas X OTKP SMK Negeri 2 Simpang Empat di Kab.Tanah Bumbu masih kurang menunjukan keaktifan dalam mengikuti pembelajaran daring. Hal ini menyebabkan munculnya perilaku siswa yang perlu mendapat perhatian, seperti tidak bersemangat dalam mengikuti pembelajaran, kurang inisiatif dalam bertanya maupun menjawab pertanyaan, diam saat ditanya, dan melakukan hal-hal diluar instruksi guru. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut maka salah satu cara untuk mengatasi hal tersebut adalah menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis web Mentimeter, whiteboard.fi, sebagai upaya meningkatkan keaktifan siswa. Tujuan penulisan adalah untuk mengkaji upaya yang dilakukan guru untuk meningkatkan keaktifan siswa menggunakan media berbasis web. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. metode yang dilakukan untuk mengetahui gambaran, keadaan, suatu hal dengan cara mendeskripsikannya sedetail mungkin berdasarkan fakta yang ada. Dengan langkah awal Mengidentifikasi adanya permasalahan yang signifikan untuk dipecahkan melalui metode deskriptif, Membatasi dan merumuskan permasalahan secara jelas, Menentukan tujuan dan manfaat penelitian, Melakukan studi pustaka yang berkaitan dengan permasalahan, Menentukan kerangka berpikir, dan pertanyaan penelitian dan atau hipotesis penelitian, Mendesain metode penelitian yang hendak digunakan termasuk dalam hal ini menentukan populasi, sampel, teknik sampling, menentukan instrumen pengumpul data, dan menganalisis data, Mengumpulkan, mengorganisasi, dan menganalisis data dengan menggunakan teknik statistika yang relevan dan terakhir Membuat laporan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan persentase hasil belajar, hal ini dapat dilihat dari ketuntasan KKM siswa dari kegiatan pra tindakan dan setiap siklus, yaitu pada pra tindakan sebesar 15%, pada siklus I sebesar 45%, pada siklus II sebesar 50%, sedangkan siklus III 95%. Hal tersebut diiringi dengan peningkatan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa dari pra tidakan sebesar 60, siklus I sebesar 64, pada siklus II sebesar 66. Sedangkan pada siklus III 76%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model Discovery Learning berbantuan media aplikasi mentimeter dalam pembelajaran Informatika dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar siswa dan hasil belajar peserta didik

Abstract

This study employed a Counterbalanced Design research approach using two instructional models: the ARCS Learning Model and Problem-Based Learning (PBL). The research was conducted in the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The population consisted of fifth-grade students from Cluster V elementary schools in Panakukang District. The sample was selected randomly using a random sampling technique from two schools: UPT SPF SD Inpres Panyyikokang 1 and SD Inpres Panyyikokang 2. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using inferential statistical analysis, including tests of normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing through the Independent Sample T-Test. The results showed that both instructional models significantly improved students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education among fifth-grade students. Students demonstrated increased understanding of the Pancasila Education material. Although there was no substantial significant difference between the ARCS and PBL models in terms of learning outcomes, both were effective in enhancing students’ comprehension. This study provides a clearer understanding of the effectiveness of each instructional model in improving Pancasila Education learning outcomes among fifth-grade students in Cluster V, Panakukang District.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the work environment, motivation, and professional competence on the performance of educators at Sompong 49 Public Elementary School, Tellu Limpoe District, Sinjai Regency. The background of this study is the importance of internal and external factors that influence the quality of educators in carrying out their professional roles. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach through a survey method. All 31 teachers at Sompong 49 Public Elementary School were selected as respondents using a total sampling technique. The research instrument was a 39-item questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 20. The analysis results indicate that working conditions significantly contribute to improving educator performance, with a calculated t value of 2.112 > t table 2.048 and a significance level of 0.04. The motivation variable showed results that require further review because, although the calculated t value is < t table, the significance value is < 0.05. Professional competence was shown to have a significant influence, with a calculated t value of 3.387 and a significance level of 0.02. Collectively, the three independent variables significantly contribute to performance quality, as evidenced by the calculated F of 5.484 > Ftable 3.35, with a significance level of 0.004. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.379 indicates that 37.9% of the variation in performance is explained by the research variables, while the remainder is influenced by factors outside the model. These findings confirm that improving teacher performance can be achieved through creating a conducive work environment, providing motivational support, and continuously developing professional competencies. This study recommends that school principals and stakeholders pay attention to these aspects as an effort to improve the quality of education at the elementary school level. Abstract

This study examines the influence of social media and popular culture on the behavior of fifth-grade students and explores strategies for strengthening media literacy at SDN 24 Batangase. In the digital era, elementary school students are increasingly exposed to various social media platforms and popular culture trends that shape their communication patterns, learning motivation, and social behavior. The objectives of this research were to analyze the level of social media use among students, identify its positive and negative impacts on student behavior, determine factors contributing to low media literacy, and formulate recommendations for media literacy reinforcement in schools. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach supported by quantitative data, using observations, semi-structured interviews, questionnaires, and document analysis as data collection techniques. The research subjects consisted of fifth-grade students, classroom teachers, and parents. The findings indicate that social media and popular culture significantly influence students’ language use, learning concentration, social interaction, and self-confidence. While some students benefit from educational digital content, many experience decreased focus and tend to imitate viral trends without critical evaluation. The results also reveal that students’ media literacy skills are still limited, particularly in evaluating content credibility, digital ethics, and online safety. Therefore, strengthening media literacy through collaborative efforts involving schools, teachers, and parents is essential. Integrating media literacy into learning activities, utilizing popular culture positively, and providing continuous guidance are recommended to help students develop critical, responsible, and character-based digital behavior.

Abstract

The main problem in basic education is the inequality and injustice of access to education, which includes geographical, economic, and facility factors. This study aims to identify contemporary issues related to the equity of basic education at SDN 151 Inpres Kalampa, Takalar Regency. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results show that although accessibility is physically adequate, there are still gaps in digital facilities and the quality of human resources. Data from the school shows student literacy levels are still in the medium category and several students face distance barriers. This study recommends a more inclusive policy through digital infrastructure optimization and local government support for low-income families.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of inclusive education and services for students with special needs (SSN) in primary schools through document analysis, interviews, and student group discussions. The results indicate that the school has inclusive-friendly instructional plans and comprehensive initial assessments that serve as a basis for mapping the needs of students with special needs. Social interactions among students demonstrate acceptance, empathy, and prosocial behavior, reflecting the development of an inclusive classroom climate supported by teachers’ roles in fostering respect for diversity. However, the implementation of inclusion still faces challenges, particularly in the lack of systematic instructional adaptations and the insufficient documentation of collaboration among schools, parents, and special education teachers. These findings reveal a gap between inclusive values that have developed at a cultural level and the structured management of inclusive services. Therefore, strengthening adaptive instructional planning, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and school policy support is essential to achieve sustainable and meaningful inclusive education in primary schools.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of learning objectives and achievements in Indonesian Language teaching under the Merdeka Curriculum at SDN 193 Mandalan, Makassar, using a qualitative descriptive approach on grade 4 teachers, students, and learning documents through observation, interviews, and document analysis. Findings reveal that teachers have developed Learning Objective Pathways (ATP) and teaching modules based on Learning Achievement Standards (CP), yet objective formulations remain general, diagnostic assessments are suboptimal, and digital literacy is hindered by limited facilities. Implementation shows positive progress but requires advanced teacher training and facility improvements to achieve integrated literacy competencies (listening, speaking, reading, writing).​

Abstract

The transformation of learning based on digital technology has become an essential need in the world of education, including at the elementary school level, in line with technological advancements and educational policies that promote the digitalization of learning. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects include teachers and fourth-grade students at SDN 193 Mandalan. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, document analysis, and student group discussions. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research findings indicate that digital technology-based learning has begun to be implemented through the utilization of digital media such as instructional videos and interactive presentations, which are capable of enhancing student engagement and learning motivation. However, the digital learning transformation has not yet progressed optimally due to limitations in facilities and infrastructure, low digital literacy among some teachers, and the absence of a school culture that supports sustainable digital learning. This research concludes that the transformation of digital technology-based learning in elementary schools requires school policy support, enhancement of teacher competencies, and systematic lesson planning to ensure that digital learning can run effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the principal’s leadership practices in the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) at SDN 16 Liangeng, identify the challenges and opportunities of its implementation, and formulate strategies to strengthen a collaborative and participatory culture in improving the quality of primary education. A qualitative approach was employed through interviews, observations, document analysis, and focus group discussions involving the principal, teachers, school committee members, students, and Master’s students in Primary Education as field observers. The findings indicate that the principal has demonstrated transformational leadership practices through openness to ideas, work motivation, and support for instructional innovation, while teacher participation is relatively active but the involvement of school committees and students remains limited in strategic decision-making. Administrative transparency and accountability have been adequately implemented; however, the dissemination of information to all school stakeholders has not been optimal. The main challenges include limited time, administrative workload, and the lack of a strong participatory culture, whereas development opportunities arise from positive working relationships, community support, and leadership openness to innovation, leading to recommendations to strengthen communication systems, expand stakeholder involvement, and foster a sustainable collaborative culture.
