Abstract

Waste management can be considered the 'entry point' to achieving sustainable development goals, because this problem is multisectoral and affects various aspects of people's lives. Waste management through the waste bank program has become an innovative and sustainable solution for the government and society in reducing the volume of waste which continues to increase every day. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using digital platforms on waste bank business income and the impact of waste management through the waste bank program in sustainable development efforts in Sugiale Village, Bone Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method using a policy evaluation perspective. The data used is primary data obtained through observation, interviews and documentation methods. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's effectiveness analysis and interactive analysis. The results of this research show that the use of digital platforms is effective in the business income of the Al-Muqarrabin waste bank in Sugiale Village, Bone Regency. Apart from that, the Al-Muqarrabin waste bank program also has a positive impact on various aspects of life of the people of Sugiale Village, Bone Regency, such as the economic aspect by providing additional income for the community, the environmental aspect by increasing environmental cleanliness and village aesthetics, and the social aspect by increasing community awareness of the environment and also increasing community solidarity.

Abstract

Low teacher ability can result in low student learning activities and also unsatisfactory learning outcomes obtained. This classroom action research aims to determine the application of the Discussion-Comparison Method with Critical Analysis based on Learning Community Extended(DCM-CA& LCE) to increase learning activities student. This research was carried out in three cycles, where each cycle consisted of The implementation of this research was carried out in 3 cycles, each cycle through stages (1) action preparation stage, including diagnostic and therapeutic stages, (2) action implementation stage, (3) monitoring stage and evaluation, as well as (4) analysis and reflection stages. The subjects of this research were students in the third semester of Mahasiswa Semester III Matakuliah Teknologi Pembelajaran Biologi 2 sks Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu. Research time: Odd Semester Academic Year 2023/2024 (September 2023-January 2024) with a total of 30 students. Activity data and learning outcomes were collected using the observation method via Observation Sheets. The results of the research showed that there was an increase in student learning activity from cycle I to cycle III in the Good category from 16.6% to 53.57%, an increase of 36.7%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using TikTok as a learning medium on students' English language skills in higher education. Using a quantitative approach and descriptive-correlational survey design, data was collected from 124 active university students from various study programs who use TikTok in their English learning process. The instrument used was a closed-ended questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale, which measured the intensity of TikTok use (X) and English language skills (Y), including vocabulary acquisition, pronunciation, listening comprehension, and speaking fluency. The statistical analysis showed a very strong correlation between TikTok usage and English language skills, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.935. The R Square value of 0.875 indicates that 87.5% of the variability of English skills can be explained by the use of TikTok, while the remaining 12.5% is influenced by other factors. Each one-unit increase in TikTok usage increased English skills by 0.861 units (p < 0.001). The findings suggest that TikTok can be an effective learning media in improving English language skills, especially in vocabulary and listening skills. The practical implication is that educators can utilize this digital platform to support more contextualized and engaging learning.

Abstract

Dalam kehidupan digital yang semakin mendominasi, generasi Milenial dan Gen Z menghadapi tekanan psikologis yang signifikan akibat intensitas keterlibatan dengan media sosial. Kebutuhan untuk terus tampil dan terlibat secara daring memicu kelelahan emosional, perbandingan sosial, serta gangguan keseimbangan hidup. Di tengah realitas ini, praktik digital detox atau puasa media sosial muncul sebagai alternatif untuk memulihkan kondisi mental. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dampak positif puasa media sosial terhadap kesehatan mental generasi Milenial dan Gen Z. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan mengkaji berbagai sumber literatur dan penelitian terdahulu yang relevan. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara mendalam untuk mengidentifikasi pola-pola pengalaman, respons emosional, dan manfaat psikologis selama masa jeda digital. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jeda dari media sosial mampu mengurangi tingkat kecemasan, meningkatkan kualitas tidur, serta memperbaiki fokus dan ketenangan pikiran. Praktik ini juga membuka peluang bagi interaksi sosial langsung yang lebih bermakna dan refleksi diri yang mendalam terhadap konsumsi digital. Terdapat perbedaan respons antara Milenial dan Gen Z, baik dalam motivasi maupun cara menghadapi jeda, yang menunjukkan perlunya pendekatan khusus bagi masing-masing generasi. Secara keseluruhan, digital detox terbukti sebagai strategi efektif dalam menjaga kesehatan mental di era media sosial yang padat akan stimulasi.

Abstract

This service activity is motivated by students' low understanding of the packaging of historical content into educational products with economic value, and the non-optimal integration of entrepreneurial values in history learning. The purpose of this activity is to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of students through edupreneurship developed in the form of local history-based exhibitions. The method used is a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach that involves students as active subjects in training, production, and marketing of historical products, as well as organizing exhibition activities. The activity began with training on basic edupreneur concepts, product packaging, and marketing strategies. The activity featured a variety of creative products such as traditional snacks, replicas of pinisi ships, and souvenirs with local history motifs. This activity succeeded in increasing students' capacity to think critically, innovate, and work together productively. The entrepreneurship talk show held at the same time also strengthened students' motivation and entrepreneurial insights. The results of the activity show that the history exhibition is effective as a medium for transforming contextual, applicable, and economically valuable history learning through an edupreneurship approach.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find steps in restoring the company's financial condition through the company's turnaround proxy. The crisis due to Covid-19 has an impact on the company's finances which ended in a slump so that a strategy must be found to overcome the company's financial problems. This study uses a turnaround proxy in the financial recovery process. Research Method: This study usesa descriptive qualitative statistical analysis method, namely by understanding the phenomena that occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic which caused the company's financial difficulties. Findings/Results: steps taken in Financial Recovery are applied to reverse the loss situation into a profitable situation, including by reducing operational costs through (1) free assets, (2) asset reduction, (3) severity.

Abstract

Low student motivation in English speaking skills highlights the need for technology-based learning innovations. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Duolingo and Hello Talk applications in increasing students’ confidence and motivation. The method used in this study is quantitative. The subjects were 20 students from class A and 20 students from class B in Junior High School, selected using convenience sampling. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test administration after the treatment using Duolingo and Hello Talk applications. The research instruments consisted of a questionnaire and a test. Data were analyzed using paired t-test to compare the mean scores before and after the treatment in both groups. The analysis showed that students achieved a higher average score using Duolingo (7533.3) compared to Hello Talk (6966.7), with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.001) and a medium to large effect size (Cohen’s d = 0.789). A moderately strong positive correlation (r = 0.660) between the results of both applications indicates that they complement each other in supporting the learning process. It can be concluded that Duolingo is more effective in consistently increasing student motivation through structured practice, while Hello Talk contributes to building confidence through authentic social interaction. The results of this study imply the importance of integrating both applications into English learning strategies, particularly in developing students’ speaking skills more comprehensively and adaptively in accordance with 21st-century learning needs.

Abstract

Berkembangnya Pulau Dutungan menjadi Objek wisata akan menjadi suatu peluang bagi masyarakat sekitar objek wisata untuk mengelola lapangan usaha serta terbentuknya lapangan pekerjaan bagi masyarakat Desa Cilellang, Kabupaten Barru sehingga situasi ini dapat dimaksimalkan oleh warga sekitar untuk mendapatkan peluang usaha dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat sekitar. Berbagai strategi pengembangan telah dilakukan, seperti penambahan fasilitas modern, penggunaan media sosial untuk promosi, dan peningkatan aksesibilitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak keberadaan kawasan wisata terhadap kesejahteraan pelaku usaha disekitar objek wisata Pulau Dutungan di Kecamatan Mallusetasi Kabupaten Barru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui wawancara dengan 14 pelaku usaha lokal untuk menggali dampak pengembangan wisata terhadap tingkat kesejahteraan mereka, dengan fokus pada indikator pendapatan, pendidikan, dan pekerjaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan wisata di Pulau Dutungan secara signifikan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat, dengan terciptanya peluang usaha baru, peningkatan pendapatan, serta akses yang lebih baik terhadap pendidikan dan pekerjaan. Meskipun demikian, tantangan terkait keberlanjutan dan ketergantungan ekonomi pada sektor pariwisata perlu menjadi perhatian untuk memastikan manfaat jangka panjang bagi masyarakat setempat.

Abstract

This research employs a literature study method focused on the revitalization of the tourism industry in Makassar during the Covid-19 pandemic. The data used are derived from nationally and internationally recognized sources. The study was conducted through manual research, utilizing data collected from Google Scholar and Mendeley to address information gaps related to the challenges faced by the tourism sector before and after the pandemic. The impact of Covid-19 on the population of Makassar City is evident in the significant decline in both international and domestic travel. The number of tourist visits—both domestic and foreign—decreased substantially. A crucial first step in improving employment conditions in the tourism sector is addressing issues in the transportation sector, including the availability of lodging and food services. The Covid-19 pandemic severely disrupted the national economy. Tourism, which plays an essential role in human life as a means to relieve stress and fatigue from work, was among the most affected sectors. Various economic analyses have shown that tourism was one of the hardest-hit industries. While tourism has the potential to support the broader community economy, the overall economic downturn has negatively impacted the tourism sector at both macro and micro levels.

Abstract

Religiusitas Orang Tua dan Kompetensi Guru sangat penting terhadap Minat Belajar Siswa terutama dalam pelajaran bidang study bahasa arab. Minat belajar siswa akan terasa baik bila mendapat dukungan dari orang tua dan guru baik dalam diri sendiri maupun dalam lingkungan keluarga dan lingkungan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Religiusitas Orang Tua dan Kompetensi Guru terhadap Minat Belajar Bidang study Bahasa Arab di MA Nurul Islam lubuk Gaung Dumai.penelitian ini meruakan penelitian kuatitaif, adapun data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data premier yang diperoleh melalui angket melalui 45 siswa sebagai sampel dari populasi sebanyak 45 siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda, dengan bantuan SPSS 21.0 for Windo.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara bersama-sama variabel religiusitas orang tua dan kompetensi guru berpengaruh positif terhadap minat belajar bidang study bahasa Arab Ma al Huda dengan presentase sebesar 83,7% dan sebesar 14,3% minat belajar siswa dipengaruhi oleh fator lain.
