Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effect of using the Eyelearn platform, based on Articulate Storyline 3, on improving the critical thinking skills of primary school pupils regarding the topic of the sense of sight in Integrated Science Education (IPAS) lessons. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design of the one-group pretest–posttest type. The research subjects consisted of 28 Year 5 pupils at Wonorejo State Primary School 1. Data were collected via multiple-choice tests designed based on critical thinking skill indicators and administered before and after the intervention. Data analysis included the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and a paired-sample t-test. The results showed an increase in the mean score from 52.7 in the pre-test to 78.6 in the post-test, with an effect size classified as very large (Cohen’s d = 2.15). These findings indicate that the use of the Articulate Storyline 3-based Eyelearn platform has a significant effect on improving pupils’ critical thinking skills. Consequently, this platform is suitable for use as an alternative for IPAS learning in primary schools to support the development of critical thinking skills

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilaksanakan guna mengkaji sejauh mana penerapan pembelajaran kooperatif melalui teknik Index Card Match mampu mendukung perkembangan kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik di tingkat sekolah dasar pada pokok bahasan proses fotosintesis. Studi ini menerapkan desain praeksperimental satu kelompok pretest–posttest. Partisipan dalam penelitian terdiri atas 31 peserta didik kelas IV di SD Negeri 2 Tahunan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan teknik tes, observasi, serta dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis melalui analisis deskriptif, pengujian normalitas, paired sample t-test, dan perhitungan N-gain. Temuan penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa rata-rata nilai siswa mengalami peningkatan dari 54,35 menjadi 70,16. Hasil uji analisis statistik juga menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (<0,05). Di samping itu, perhitungan N-gain menghasilkan nilai 0,3806 yang berada pada kategori sedang, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Index Card Match efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi sains siswa. Abstract: This study was conducted to examine the extent to which the implementation of cooperative learning through the Index Card Match technique can support the development of scientific literacy skills among elementary school students in the topic of photosynthesis. The research employed a pre-experimental method using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The participants consisted of 31 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Tahunan. Data were collected through tests, observations, and documentation. Furthermore, the obtained data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, normality testing, paired sample t-test, and N-gain analysis. An improvement in students’ average performance was observed, from 54.35 to 70.16. The statistical results also showed a significant difference with a significance level of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. Furthermore, the N-gain score obtained was 0.3806, classified as moderate. This suggests that the application of the Index Card Match model effectively improves students’ scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

Teaching IPAS material on the human digestive system in grade V of elementary school (SD) faces obstacles because the abstract concept of digestive organs is difficult for students to understand without concrete media. This research developed the Interactive Educational Snakes and Ladders (LANTERA) media that meets the criteria of being feasible, practical, and capable of improving students' cognitive learning outcomes based on Bloom's Taxonomy (C3–C6). The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects were 33 grade V students of SDN 1 Purwogondo using a total sampling technique. Research instruments included observation guidelines, interviews, expert validation sheets, pre-test and post-test questions, as well as teacher and student response questionnaires. Validation results showed the media met the feasibility criteria with a score of 96.43% from media experts and 84.5% from material experts. The increase in learning outcomes was measured using N-Gain with an average of 0.6187 (medium category), with a distribution of 48.5% of students in the high category, 39.4% medium, and 12.1% low. Teacher responses reached 98% and student responses 92.6%, indicating very high practicality. LANTERA media is proven to be able to improve cognitive learning outcomes through the integration of visualization, gamification, and collaborative learning, so it can be an alternative for game-based learning for abstract material in elementary schools.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar menjadi dasar dilaksanakannya penelitian ini, yang terlihat pada keterbatasan dalam menafsirkan informasi, menganalisis hubungan konsep, mengevaluasi fakta, dan menarik kesimpulan pada materi siklus makhluk hidup dalam pembelajaran IPAS. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dampak pada penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis flipbook 3D terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan rancangan pre-eksperimen tipe one group pretest–posttest. Partisipan penelitian terdiri dari 28 siswa kelas III SD Negeri 3 Lebak. Pengumpulan data dilaksanakan dengan melalui tes pilihan ganda yang didesain berdasarkan indikator berpikir kritis, yang dilaksanakan pada tahap sebelum perlakuan dan setelah perlakuan diberikan. Tahap Analisis data meliputi uji normalitas Shapiro–Wilk dan Paired Sample t-Test. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan peningkatan rata-rata skor dari 51,3 menjadi 77,5, yang signifikan secara statistik (p < 0,001) dengan ukuran efek sangat besar (Cohen’s d = −2,26). Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penggunaan media flipbook 3D mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan kognitif siswa dalam menganalisis, menafsirkan, dan menarik kesimpulan terhadap konsep ilmiah. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi empiris bahwa media cetak interaktif berbasis visual dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai alternatif media inovatif untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran IPAS di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Student difficulties in understanding the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject are caused by the conceptual essence of the content and the restricted utilization of engaging educational resources. This research seeks to create and evaluate the validity, feasibility, and efficacy of Augmented Reality (AR) media through the Assemblr Edu application concerning ecosystem content. This research utilized a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, comprising the phases of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The study participants included 1 teacher and 20 third-grade pupils from SDN 1 Mulyoharjo, comprising 10 female and 10 male students. The implementation of the study was conducted over three meetings. Data gathering methods were conducted using observation, interviews, and surveys. The instrument for measuring learning motivation was validated and assessed for reliability before its use, and it was found to be both valid and reliable. The results showed that the media validity score was 86% (valid category), while the material validity score was 89.3% (valid category). Student feedback regarding media usage received a percentage of 91.1% (excellent category). Additionally, the outcomes of the paired sample T-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, and the N-Gain value was 0.3611 (moderate category, lower threshold), signifying a moderate enhancement in student learning motivation. Consequently, the use of Augmented Reality media through the Assemblr Edu app is deemed practical and fairly efficient in enhancing ecosystem education.

Abstract

Students often feel bored and unenthusiastic during science classes; limited facilities, insufficient infrastructure, and a lack of teacher creativity in utilizing instructional media are the primary causes of this problem. The purpose of this study is to produce and test the effectiveness of scratch-based card media on ecosystem material for grade III elementary school to optimize student learning scores. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model. This study has subjects consisting of 30 grade III students of Bapangan State Elementary School. Interviews, validation questionnaires from material experts and media experts, teacher and student responses, and pretests and posttests are the data collection techniques used. The material validity test produced a value of 93.3% and for the media validity test reached 84% and 100%, both data are included in the "very feasible" category. For student and teacher responses produced 92.5%, this includes the "very practical" criteria in learning activities, especially regarding ecosystem topics. The normality test for pretest and posttest data produced values ​​of 0.211 and 0.090 so that the data is normally distributed. The Paired Sample T-Test showed a result of <0.001, indicating a significant improvement in learning outcomes between the pretest and posttest results. The N-Gain test was the final test, with an average of 52, which is considered moderate. Based on these results, it can be concluded that scratch-based card media for ecosystems material in third grade elementary school is very effective in helping students optimize learning outcomes.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi dalam pendidikan menuntut pemanfaatan media pembelajaran inovatif untuk mengoptimalkan penguasaan materi dan capaian belajar, terlebih dalam konteks materi yang bersifat abstrak seperti ekosistem di sekolah dasar. Penelitian untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran leaflet berbantuan Augmented Reality dan mengetahui tingkat kelayakan, kepraktisan, serta keefektifannya. Metode yang diterakan yaitu pendekatan Research and Development dengan menerapkan model ADDIE, terdiri atas tahapan Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement dan Evaluate, subjek penelitian terdiri dari 35 siswa kelas 5 di sekolah dasar. Teknik pengumpulan data memanfaatkan teknik wawancara, angket, lembar validasi, dan instrumen pretest posttest. Data dianalisis menggunakan persentase untuk mengukur kelayakan serta kepraktisan, dan uji Paired Sample T-Test guna menguji keefektifan media. Hasil yang diperoleh mengindikasikan bahwa media ini dikategorikan sangat layak berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli, dengan skor validasi ahli materi (88%), ahli media 1 (92%), dan ahli media 2 (100%). Uji kepraktisan juga dinilai sangat baik, ditunjukkan dengan respons guru 90% dan siswa 92,5%. Disamping itu, hasil belajar siswa memperlihatkan kenaikan pada rata-rata nilai pretest 48,2 menjadi 78,7 pada posttest dengan nilai signifikansi p 0,001. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, media leaflet berbasis Augmented Reality memiliki tingkat keefektifan media pembelajaran kreatif serta interaktif pada materi ekosistem pada kegiatan belajar mengajar IPAS di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Keterbatasan ketersediaan media pembelajaran interaktif yang mengintegrasikan pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) masih menjadi hambatan dalam upaya meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku interaktif berbasis STEM yang terintegrasi dengan simulasi PhET pada materi rangkaian listrik guna meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa di SD Al Islam Pengkol. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang mencakup tahapan Analysis (analisis), Design (perancangan), Develop (pengembangan), Implement (implementasi), dan Evaluate (evaluasi). Subjek penelitian meliputi siswa kelas V dan guru IPAS. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui lembar validasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media, angket respons siswa dan guru, serta tes keterampilan berpikir kritis, yang selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa buku interaktif yang dikembangkan berada pada kategori sangat layak. Selain itu, hasil uji coba menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa setelah menggunakan buku interaktif berbantuan simulasi PhET. Dengan demikian, buku interaktif berbasis STEM ini direkomendasikan sebagai media pembelajaran yang efektif dalam mengintegrasikan konsep sains, teknologi, teknik, dan matematika secara kontekstual di tingkat sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Science literacy skills involve the application of science, the ability to recognize problems, and draw logical conclusions through existing data that need to be instilled since elementary school. Guided inquiry is an alternative learning approach that has proven effective in encouraging students' science literacy, especially in studying the topic of the solar system. This study examines the effect of guided inquiry assisted by augmented reality flashcards to encourage the improvement of science literacy in students at the primary education level. This research design applies a pre-experimental one-group pre-test-post-test because there is only one rombel at SDN 02 Kedung Jepara, with 24 grade VI students as samples. Research instruments in the form of pre-test and post-test using 16 multiple choice questions that have been tested for validity and reliability. Based on the results of the Paired Samples T-Test test, there is a significant difference in pretest and posttest scores, indicated by an average value of -21.61458 and the acquisition of significance results (Sig. 2-tailed) 0.000. The increase in the average score from 57 to 79 confirms that guided inquiry has an effect in improving science literacy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunaan LMS dan aplikasi Telegram terhadap aktivitas belajar mahasiswa. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa PGSD 3A3 UNISNU Jepara pada Mata Kuliah Teknologi Pendidikan yang berjumlah 28 mahasiswa. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dengan skala Likert pada penggunaan LMS, aplikasi telegram, dan aktivitas belajar yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitas sebelumnya. Teknik analisis data menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan LMS berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap aktivitas belajar dengan signifikansi 0,000; Aplikasi Telegram berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap aktivitas belajar dengan signifikansi 0,000, dan Penggunaan LMS dan aplikasi Telegram secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap aktivitas belajar sejumlah 90,1% dengan signifikansi 0,000. Penelitian ini dapat dijadikan acuan bahwa penggunaan kedua aplikasi tersebut dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap aktivitas belajar. Sedangkan pada penggunaan LMS lebih memberikan pengaruh terhadap aktivitas belajar dibanding dengan penggunaan aplikasi Telegram. The Effect of Using LMS and Telegram on Students' Learning Activities This study aims to describe the effect of using LMS and Telegram applications on student learning activities. This research method uses a quantitative approach. The sample in this study were 28 students of PGSD 3A3 UNISNU Jepara in the Educational Technology course. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire with a Likert scale on the use of LMS, Telegram application, and learning activities that had been tested for validity and reliability before. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression. The results of data analysis indicate that the use of LMS has a positive and significant effect on learning activities with a significance of 0.000; Telegram application has a positive and significant effect on learning activities with a significance of 0.000, and The use of LMS and Telegram application simultaneously have a significant effect on learning activities amounting to 90.1% with a significance of 0.000. This research can be used as a reference that the use of these two applications can influence learning activities.
