Abstract

Abstract Coral reefs have an important role for life in the sea. However, coral reef ecosystems are very vulnerable to damage due to a number of factors such as human activities, climate change, slow growth rates and so on. Efforts to preserve coral reefs have been made, but monitoring remains minimal. Therefore, coral reef ecosystem monitoring needs to be enhanced to assess their actual condition. The percentage of coral cover is an indicator that needs to be known as a determination of the life rate of coral reefs. The current coral reef monitoring process is still carried out conventionally, so the monitoring process is inefficient and obtaining information about the percentage of coral cover takes a long time. This study implements the Mask Region Convolutional Neural Network (Mask R-CNN) algorithm in the Detectron2 library to detect and segment coral cover objects in coral reef ecosystems using coral reef images as input. The model used for instance segmentation on coral reef images was trained using the Residual Network (ResNet) and Residual Networks Next (ResNeXt) backbones, which are available in the Detectron2 library. The backbone model is evaluated based on precision and recall matrices. The results show that ResNeXt101-FPN is the best backbone in producing segmentation. The results of the segmentation process are then used to calculate the percentage of coral cover. Based on the calculation results, the percentage of coral cover with the tested data was 86.06%. Thus, the process of calculating the coral cover percentage to monitor coral reef ecosystems can be carried out efficiently and information about the coral cover percentage can be obtained in a short time.

Abstract

Firm value is a fundamental aspect considered by investors when selecting investment targets. During 2024–2025, the firm value of Islamic banks in Indonesia experienced a decline, thereby motivating this study to examine the determinants of firm value in this sector. Specifically, the research investigates the influence of risk profile and investment risk on firm value, with efficiency serving as a moderating variable. This is a quantitative study based on secondary data obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The sample consists of 204 observations covering the period 2021–2025. The findings reveal that the risk profile has no significant effect on firm value, while investment risk has a significant positive effect on the firm value of Islamic banks in Indonesia. Furthermore, efficiency functions as a moderating variable, categorized as a pure moderator, in the relationship between risk profile, investment risk, and firm value.

Abstract

Introduction: Astambul Subdistrict in Banjar Regency is classified as a flood-prone area. Such regions tend to experience a decline in clean water quality. In Astambul, no mapping has been conducted regarding clean water quality based on water management and land conditions to improve clean water quality in flood-prone areas. This study aims to analyze the availability of clean water sources in flood-prone areas using geoelectrical methods and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Methods: This study used a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional method to analyze clean water sources using geoelectric and Geographic Information System (GIS) methods. This study was conducted in five villages in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province. Testing using the geoelectrical method was conducted at five locations in five villages, while the GIS method was used at 30 locations across the five villages. Results and Discussion: The geoelectric method showed that 4 villages had turbid water quality, and 1 village had very turbid water. The GIS (Geographic Information System) method indicated that the parameters for turbidity, iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), and coliforms did not meet the standards. The average values of Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), and turbidity are 8.03 mg/L, 179.27 mg/L, 0.22 mg/L, and 17.23 NTU, respectively. The average values for pH, iron (Fe), and manganese (Mn) are 6.44, 0.68 mg/L, and 21.02 mg/L, respectively. Conclusion: Based on Geoelectric and Geographic Information System analysis, the Astambul District area has clean water sources that are still below quality standards.

Abstract

The management of the industrial partner practically runs naturally without a touch of technology & good business management. The existence of this coir industry/entrepreneur on the environment is very important. This means that this industry is very helpful to the people in the village, because it absorbs workers. Based on the results of the situation analysis from partner industries, the problem that needs to be solved is that there is no working tool in the form of a reliable coconut coir combing machine, which has a low failure rate for mass decomposed coir. The method offered in this program is the applicative method, meaning that it is approached by scientific methods that apply in the process of designing and manufacturing products or tools. This fiber combing machine has a capacity of 10,000 coconuts per day, or 1250 pieces per hour. This machine will later be donated/given to entrepreneurs/coconut craft industry. The purpose of this activity is to assist partner industries in increasing the production capacity of coconut coir woven between 20-25 times compared to conventional systems. There are still many human resources in the "BUMG Lieue & Angan" coco coir industry who have low education, currently it can be said to be in a quite alarming condition, because new products are starting to get eliminated.

Abstract

Water bikes can be used as one of the vehicles in water tourism areas such as Ulee Lheue. Water bikes are used as a medium for surface transportation and fishing. Of course, this can increase the enthusiasm of those who visit the tourist destination of Ulee Lheue on weekends and holidays. High enthusiasm can increase the number of tourists, which increases income and sustains the economy of people around Ulee Lheue. Personal watercraft are constructed using fibrous pins or floats, using propeller drives, and using bicycle frames, usually modified. The steering wheel has a plate at the front and is designed to control the direction of rotation (left and right). A good community economy is expected to deliver the goodness of the community itself. Therefore, watercraft manufacturing activities must be carried out in Ulee Lheue. The implementation of this activity takes place in his two phases of implementing the activity, including creating the water bike design and manufacturing the water bike frame. The existence of water bikes can be used as an alternative to water tourism like Ulee Lheue. Water bikes are used as a medium for surface transportation and fishing. Of course, this can increase the enthusiasm of the community to visit her Ulee Lheue, a tourist destination. In fact, this water he slide is a popular ride for visitors wanting to explore lakes, reservoirs, and artificial ponds.

Abstract

Charity activities in Limpok Village, Aceh Besar District, Darussalam District, Aceh State. This activity was carried out because there is a small river in the village and the water is not yet available as a source of water for the rice fields. The purpose of this activity is to obtain and distribute rice water to increase farmers' yields. As for the stage of activities, we hold round-table discussions with local residents about the water demand of paddy fields, investigate the locations of PVC pipes, and work with local residents to lay PVC pipes. This activity demonstrates the great enthusiasm of residents to participate in a series of community service activities. As a result of this activity, we succeeded in pumping up water from a small river to the rice fields, which had previously depended on rainwater. This charity should therefore serve as an example for other villages with similar problems and demonstrate the importance of cooperation between communities and government agencies in building and improving the quality of life in the region.
