Abstract

Despite Aceh’s strong sharia financial regulations, a gap persists between regulatory strength and public adoption of sharia microfinance institutions. This study examines the effects of financial experience and social influences on sharia microfinance inclusion, with attitude towards sharia finance as a mediating variable among the Acehnese population. Data were collected from 400 respondents using purposive sampling and analyzed through SEM-PLS. The results indicate that financial experience does not have a significant direct effect on sharia microfinance inclusion, whereas social influences exert a significant positive effect on sharia microfinance inclusion. Attitude towards sharia finance shows a strong effect on inclusion and mediates the effects of financial experience and social influences on sharia microfinance inclusion. These findings highlight attitudes towards sharia finance as a key mechanism in bridging the regulatory-adoption gap and advancing sharia microfinance inclusion in Aceh.

Abstract

Background: This research examines the influence of Smart Tourism Applications on tourists' Behavioral Intentions in Aceh, with Destination Image as a mediating factor and Information Search Behavior as a moderating variable. Method: Using a quantitative approach, the research surveyed tourists who used smart tourism applications during their visit to Aceh. Results: The results reveal that the Smart Tourism Application significantly influences Destination Image, positively affecting tourists' intention to visit or revisit the destination. Furthermore, the destination image is a key mediator that links the Smart Tourism Application to tourists' behavioral intentions. However, Information Search Behavior did not significantly enhance the connection between the application and tourists' behavioral intentions. This indicates that the quality of information offered by the application plays a more critical role in influencing tourists' perceptions and building their confidence. The practical implication of this study is the need to optimize smart tourism applications to support Aceh's Syariah-based tourism by providing comprehensive information about local culture, halal facilities, and religiously guided tourism. Conclusion: This research contributes to the literature on technology in tourism, particularly in religious and cultural destination contexts, and offers insights for developing more effective destination marketing strategies.

Abstract

This article examines the challenges and opportunities for Islamic Microfinance Institutions (LKMS) in supporting the strengthening of the Islamic financial system in Aceh following the implementation of Qanun No. 11 of 2018 concerning Islamic Financial Institutions. This study employs a qualitative approach, incorporating in-depth interviews, observations, and secondary data analysis of LKMS financial reports and institutional documents. The research findings indicate that regulatory support and the socio-religious context in Aceh create strategic opportunities for LKMS through a captive market, community preference for halal transactions, and the need for financing in the real sector, especially agriculture, fisheries, and MSMEs. However, the research also reveals significant challenges, including limited human resource capacity, weak capital, low Islamic financial literacy, and the continued dominance of loan shark practices at the community level. Furthermore, government programs that have not been integrated with the LKMS ecosystem add to the complexity of improving the competitiveness of these institutions. This study concludes that the success of LKMS in Aceh cannot rely solely on the existence of regulations, but requires strategies for institutional strengthening, product diversification, digitalisation of services, and increased Islamic financial literacy. The implications of this research emphasise the need for regional government policy support and collaboration with Baitul Mal and socio-religious institutions to create an inclusive and sustainable Islamic financial ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Utilitarian Value and Hedonic Value on Behavior Intention, with Attitude as a mediating variable. Data collection was done through distributing questionnaires. The sample in this study was the Generation Z community in Banda Aceh City as many as 130 respondents, who were selected using the sampling technique according to Hair. The data analysis technique used in this research is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. The results showed that Utilitarian Value and Hedonic Value had a significant effect on Attitude partially. However, Utilitarian Value and Hedonic Value have no partial effect on Behavioral Intention, then Attitude has a significant effect on Behavioral Intention, while the mediating role of the Attitude variable mediates the effect of Utilitarian Value on Behavioral Intention and also Attitude mediates the effect of Hedonic Value on Behavioral Intention. The results showed that Gen Z's Behavioral Intention in Banda Aceh City in choosing Muslim fashion is more dominantly influenced by their Attitude, compared to the direct influence of Utilitarian Value and Hedonic Value.

The background is the increasing need for Muslim tourists for accommodation that is in line with sharia in the development of hotel concepts in Aceh. The method used is a qualitative approach that uses data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The results show that the Kumala Hotel has provided halal food, prayer room and prohibit immoral acts and pornography. From the management side, sharia principles are attempted in service, human resources, and finance. Abstract

USK Tour and Travel is a business unit under Universitas Syiah Kuala operating in the travel and tourism services sector. This study aims to analyze the business development strategy of USK Tour and Travel using the SWOT analysis approach and examine its alignment with Islamic economic values. A qualitative descriptive method was used, with data gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation. Based on the analysis, USK Tour and Travel is positioned in Quadrant I (S–O Strategy), indicating strong internal capabilities and favorable external opportunities. The recommended strategies include leveraging institutional support and academic networks to optimize growth in the halal and educational tourism sector, enhancing digital marketing, improving human resource capacity, and establishing strategic partnerships. From an Islamic economic perspective, core values such as shiddiq (honesty), amanah (trustworthiness), fathanah (intelligence), tabligh (communication), and istiqamah (consistency) are being implemented but require further integration into daily business practices to achieve both profitability and spiritual value. This research is expected to serve as a reference for businesses aiming to develop within an Islamic ethical framework in the tourism industry.
