This community service program aimed to empower Small and Medium Industries (IKMs) in Sabang City by enhancing the value-added potential of local souvenir products. The problems addressed included limited product differentiation, low-quality packaging, and inadequate branding and marketing skills among IKM actors. The program was a collaborative initiative between the Islamic Economics Study Program of Universitas Syiah Kuala and the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs of Sabang City. Using a Service Learning (SL) approach, the activity involved workshops, product development simulations, and mentoring sessions. The results showed significant improvements, including increased participant knowledge, improved packaging quality, and the creation of actionable business plans. Over 80% of participants demonstrated enhanced entrepreneurial capacity, and more than 90% expressed satisfaction with the program. The outcomes suggest that integrated academic-community collaboration can effectively support micro-enterprise development and contribute to local economic resilience and sustainability

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Country of Origin, Product Involvement, and Halal Brand Awareness on the purchase decision of Samyang instant noodles in Banda Aceh. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 170 respondents who had previously purchased Samyang products. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling combined with proportional sampling. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results show that both partially and simultaneously, Country of Origin, Product Involvement, and Halal Brand Awareness have a significant influence on purchase decisions. The Country of Origin variable indicates that positive perceptions of a products country of origin can increase consumer trust. Product Involvement shows that higher consumer engagement with a product increases the likelihood of purchase. Halal Brand Awareness demonstrates that consumer awareness of halal labels influences purchase decisions, especially in predominantly Muslim regions. These findings are expected to contribute to a better understanding of consumer behavior toward imported products and can serve as a reference for businesses in designing marketing strategies that align with the preferences and values of consumers in the research area.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of investor behavior on stock market stability through the lens of Islamic principles, emphasizing justice and transparency. Employing a systematic literature review approach, the research analyzes 200 relevant articles from 2019–2023 to investigate the relationship between investor behaviors—such as speculation and gharar (uncertainty)—and market volatility. The data were derived from a comprehensive scholarly literature review, including academic journals, articles, books, and research reports. By synthesizing relevant sources, the study offers an in-depth understanding of investor behavior and the implications of Islamic perspectives on stock market stability. The findings reveal that behaviors aligned with Shariah principles, including avoiding speculation and reinforcing transparency, contribute significantly to enhancing stock market stability. Moreover, the study underscores the importance of implementing Shariah-based regulations and promoting Islamic financial literacy to support ethical investment practices. The practical implications of this research include recommendations for regulators to integrate Shariah ethical standards into market policies and encourage market participants to adopt fundamental analysis consistent with Shariah principles. Finally, the study opens avenues for future research to explore empirical applications in specific stock markets and their impact on sustainable economic policies.
