Abstract

ABSTRACT Media is not just a mirror reflecting the society but it also acts as an agent in producing the meanings. This study’s primary objective is to analyze how gender representation and feminist discourse are constructed in Barbie and Wonder Woman using Stuart Hall’s representation theory. This study aims is to illuminate nuanced interplay between media, culture, and ideology. This study employs a qualitative research approach to analyze the representation of gender and feminist discourse in Barbie and Wonder Woman. The subjects of this study are the films Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig, and Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins. Data were collected through a combination of textual analysis and document analysis. Data analysis followed a thematic coding approach, guided by Hall’s representation theory. The findings shows using Stuart Hall’s constructionist approach to representation, both films encode and decode gender representations, power dynamics, and feminist discourse. Using Stuart Hall's representation theory, the study reveals that both films challenge traditional gender norms by encoding and decoding gender roles, power dynamics, and feminist ideals. Both films contribute to reshaping gender portrayals in mainstream media, promoting empowerment, and advancing discussions on gender equality, illustrating the ongoing influence of feminist media representations. Keywords: Gender; Representation; Feminist; Discourse; Film

Abstract

Kasus Covid-19 di Indonesia tidak hanya berdampak negatif pada kesehatan namun juga ekonomi, sosial, pendidikan dan lainnya. Masyarakat desa Situgede, Karangpawitan juga merasakan dampak virus ini seperti dalam sektor ekonomi karena sebagian masyarakatnya adalah pelaku usaha dan petani. Seperti yang dialami oleh pelaku usaha batu bata, mereka mengalami penurunan harga jual karena dibatasinya order dari pihak penampung akibat semakin melonjaknya kasus covid-19 di Indonesia dan diberlakukannya PPKM (Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Mayarakat). Pelaku usaha hanya mengandalkan penjualan dari satu distributor, sementara itu semakin pesatnya perkembangan teknlogi pada smartphone yang tersedia saat ini bisa mengatasi masalah tersebut dengan pemasaran secara online. Namun ketidakterampilan para pelaku usaha terhadap penggunaan teknologi digital membuat mereka hanya megandalkan distributor. Maka kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Komunitas Maya ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan pelaku usaha dan petani di Desa Situgede dalam menggunakan platform-platform digital pemasaran. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dengan mengadakan webinar series bertema “UMKM Goes To International” sebanyak empat kali berisi pengenalan sampai penggunaan teknologi untuk bertransformasi menuju ekonomi digital. Melalui kegiatan webinar series ini peserta dapat mengakses, membuat akun dan memasukkan data produk dan usaha pada platform-platform digital.

Abstract

Vocabulary is fundamental to English language proficiency, yet teaching it remains challenging due to limited instructional time and the complexity of word associations. While various methods have been employed to support vocabulary learning, few studies have explored the impact of English movies on vocabulary mastery and student motivation in relation to learning styles. This study addresses that gap by examining how English movies support vocabulary acquisition and motivation among students with diverse learning preferences at Junior High School 3 Terusan Nunyai. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, with purposive sampling involving school leaders, teachers, and selected students. A learning style inventory identified visual learners as the majority. The findings indicate that English movies enhance vocabulary retention and motivation, especially for visual and auditory learners, and can also engage kinesthetic learners when combined with interactive classroom activities. The use of movies provides authentic, contextual, and multisensory experiences that enrich learning and increase student engagement. The study concludes that integrating English movies into English instruction is an effective strategy to improve vocabulary mastery and student motivation, offering valuable insights for teachers and contributing to more inclusive and engaging learning environments.

Abstract

This study evaluated the application of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven image analysis for enhancing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) audits in food and beverage (F&B) catering services. Three industrial F&B establishments located in Jakarta, Cikarang, and Karawang were assessed. Images capturing key visual criteria were analyzed using an AI system based on ChatGPT-4o, with compliance scored under three different prompt formulations to evaluate AI sensitivity. Manual audits conducted by trained auditors served as a benchmark. Statistical analysis revealed that AI assessments closely aligned with manual audits across most criteria, particularly for cleanliness of food-contact surfaces, personal hygiene, and pest exclusion. However, significant prompt-induced differences were found in more interpretative criteria such as facility design and storage practices. When averaged across stable prompts, AI scores showed strong agreement with manual audits, although AI tended to assign slightly stricter scores in certain areas. No significant differences were found in SSOP compliance evaluations, indicating high consistency for sanitation-related assessments. These results demonstrate that AI-driven image analysis can reliably support GMP and SSOP audits for visually detectable parameters, improving audit efficiency, objectivity, and frequency. Nonetheless, non-visual aspects such as documentation and microbiological testing still require human oversight. Integrating AI into food safety auditing represents a promising advancement for modern F&B compliance monitoring.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas penerapan algoritma Caesar Cipher dalam meningkatkan keamanan data pada sistem kasir restoran berbasis web. Proses enkripsi dan dekripsi dilakukan dengan metode sederhana, yaitu menggeser huruf berdasarkan kunci tertentu. Algoritma ini diterapkan untuk mengenkripsi kata sandi pengguna sebelum disimpan di dalam basis data, memberikan lapisan keamanan tambahan. Namun, algoritma ini memiliki keterbatasan karena rentan terhadap serangan brute force dan analisis frekuensi akibat jumlah kunci yang terbatas. Penelitian ini mengilustrasikan penerapan Caesar Cipher dalam melindungi data pengguna, sekaligus mengidentifikasi kelemahan utama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa algoritma ini lebih cocok digunakan pada aplikasi dengan kebutuhan keamanan rendah. Selain itu, penelitian ini menyoroti perlunya menggunakan algoritma yang lebih kuat, seperti AES atau metode hashing bcrypt dan SHA-256, untuk melindungi data secara lebih efektif. Temuan ini juga membuka peluang untuk mengombinasikan Caesar Cipher dengan metode enkripsi lainnya sebagai langkah inovatif dalam meningkatkan keamanan sistem informasi di masa depan.

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to improve digital literacy understanding and skills among teachers at SD Aisyiyah 1 Kauman, Pagar Alam. Based on initial observations, it was found that most teachers had not yet optimally understood the use of digital technology in the learning process. Therefore, this training was designed using a participatory approach, actively involving teachers in each stage of the activity, including interactive lectures, workshops, and group discussions. The results of the training showed a significant improvement in the teachers’ understanding of digital literacy concepts, mastery of educational applications, and ability to design and implement technology-based learning. This activity is expected to serve as an initial step toward building a culture of digital learning in elementary schools and supporting educational transformation that is adaptive to the developments of the modern era.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menjabarkan pengalaman mahasiswa yang berpartisipasi dalam program pertukaran budaya antara Universitas Darma Persada (UNSADA) dan Kanto Gakuin University (KGU) pada tahun 2025. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi manfaat, tantangan, dan hasil dari interaksi lintas budaya dalam konteks akademik. Data dikumpulkan melalui diskusi kelompok terfokus (FGD), observasi partisipatif, dan catatan reflektif dari 20 mahasiswa UNSADA dan 5 mahasiswa KGU. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program ini secara signifikan meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi lintas budaya, kesadaran global, dan wawasan akademik mahasiswa. Tantangan seperti kecemasan budaya (culture shock) dan hambatan bahasa diidentifikasi, namun berhasil diatasi melalui dukungan institusi dan kolaborasi antar mahasiswa. Program ini berhasil menciptakan lingkungan yang inklusif, mempromosikan saling pengertian dan toleransi di antara peserta. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya program pertukaran budaya dalam pendidikan tinggi sebagai sarana untuk mempersiapkan mahasiswa menghadapi dunia yang semakin global dan menyarankan bahwa inisiatif semacam ini dapat menjadi model untuk kerja sama internasional di masa depan.

Abstract

Kepercayaan diri merupakan aspek penting dalam pembelajaran pencak silat, namun banyak siswa mengalami kendala dalam mengembangkan rasa percaya diri saat berlatih. Pembelajaran sosial-emosional dapat menjadi salah satu strategi untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan pembelajaran sosial-emosional dalam penggunaan media permainan berbasis game Gerak Tebak untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam pembelajaran pencak silat di SDN Kampungdalem 4. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode PTK. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, serta angket sebelum dan sesudah penerapan permainan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah menerapkan pembelajaran sosial-emosional melalui permainan Gerak Tebak, terjadi peningkatan signifikan dalam kepercayaan diri siswa. Siswa menjadi lebih aktif, berani, dan percaya diri dalam melakukan gerakan pencak silat. Selain itu, interaksi sosial di dalam kelas juga meningkat, sehingga menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih positif dan suportif. Kesimpulannya, penerapan pembelajaran sosial-emosional dalam permainan Gerak Tebak terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam pembelajaran pencak silat. Pendekatan ini dapat dijadikan strategi inovatif dalam pendidikan jasmani untuk menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih interaktif dan menyenangkan

Abstract

Film documents In the Name of Leaf (2021) tells the true story of Fidelis Arie Sudewarto, an Indonesian citizen who had to face social stigma and criminalization for using medical marijuana to treat his wife who suffered from a rare disease. This study aims to analyze the impact of social stigma on Fidelis' human rights as depicted in the film atas nama daun (20222).The method used is a descriptive qualitative method with content analysis techniques. Data were obtained through film transcription and analyzed by classifying Fidelis' human rights violations into three categories of rights: civil and political rights, economic, social and cultural rights, and collective and solidarity rights.The results of the study show that the social stigma received by Fidelis not only caused violations of civil and political rights such as loss of fair legal treatment, but also had an impact on economic, social, and cultural rights such as the loss of the role as head of the family and the destruction of family welfare. In addition, the stigma also robbed collective rights and solidarity, both for Fidelis and for the community of medical marijuana fighters in Indonesia.This study recommends the importance of humanitarian-based policy advocacy in handling similar cases, as well as protecting the rights of marginalized communities who are stigmatized in Indonesia

Abstract

This study examines the impact of Project Based Learning (PjBL) on student creativity within the National Curriculum at elementary schools. Using a quantitative experimental design, the study involved two groups: the experimental group applying PjBL and the control group following conventional learning methods. The sample consisted of 120 fifth grade students divided into these two groups. Data were collected through a validated creativity test administered before and after the intervention. The results revealed that the experimental group showed a significant increase in creativity compared to the control group. The average creativity score for the experimental group rose from 62.5 to 85.3, whereas the control group only increased from 61.4 to 65.2. These results demonstrate that implementing PjBL in the National Curriculum effectively enhances student creativity, particularly in problem-solving, originality of ideas, and collaboration skills. Consequently, PjBL can serve as a valuable method for fostering 21st-century skills, which align with the core objectives of Indonesia’s National Curriculum.
