Abstract

Several studies on waste issues in the Global South still echo a pessimistic voice about waste management. Few citizens of the Global South view waste not merely as dirty objects but as valuable residual resources. This single case study reveals something different. The waste management practices carried out by two urban community groups in East Jakarta, Indonesia, namely Kelompok Tani Hutan (KTH) of Rumah Kaum Jayakarta and Bank Sampah Pintar (BSP) of Pok Lisa in the Agroeduwisata Jayakarta Program, show that these groups have views and practices of waste management that are not only environmentally beneficial but also economically and culturally advantageous. This program was implemented and developed in collaboration with CSR PT ANTAM Tbk UBPP Logam Mulia. The findings of this study show that waste is treated not as dirty and damaged material but can instead be converted into gold. The practices carried out by the groups in this program align with the concept of sustainable city development.

Abstract

.  Law Number 5 of 1999 entitled Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Business Competition regulates business competition law in Indonesia. One of the main reasons for the emergence of this Act was due to pressure from the IMF (International Monetary Fund) as part of the Letter of Intent (LOI) at that time. Consequently, no attempt was made to reflect Islamic values in the drafting of the law. This can be seen from the exceptions in Article 50, especially the exceptions for small entrepreneurs. This research is a normative juridical research with qualitative analysis method, and the data that the writer uses is secondary data which consists of primary and secondary legal materials. The ideal law is a law that is made in accordance with the noble values of society, and must also take into account the religious values that are adhered to by the community. Renewal is needed in Indonesia's business competition law by integrating Islamic values to create a business competition law that reflects God's values and at the same time reflects the values of the Pancasila Economic System

Abstract

This study aims to assess the impact of student loan schemes on global access to higher education, focusing on literature from 2014 to 2024. Using a meta-analysis approach, the research compiles data from various studies to provide an overarching conclusion on the effectiveness and challenges of student loan policies. Key findings indicate that student loans significantly enhance access to higher education, especially for students from low socio-economic backgrounds, as evidenced by Msigwa (2016) in Tanzania. In the United States, the expansion of student loans has led to increased dependency on federal support and greater accountability demands from higher education institutions, as discussed by Berman & Stivers (2016). Additionally, global trends show widespread adoption of income-contingent loans (ICLs) in countries like Australia and the UK, facilitating manageable loan repayments based on income (Chapman, Dearden, & Doan, 2020). Reflecting on recent developments, President Joe Biden's announcement of $7.7 billion in student debt relief underscores the policy's political and economic significance. This decision aims to alleviate the financial burden on 4.75 million borrowers, despite political opposition. For Indonesia, this study suggests adopting income-based loans, enhancing accountability, and improving oversight to ensure equitable and effective loan distribution. These measures could reduce financial burdens and improve socio-economic outcomes, ensuring broader access to higher education.

Abstract

The learning process at SMA Negeri 7 Singkawang during the pandemic period July 2020 to June 2021 carried out online learning. During online learning there was a decline in student achievement caused by gadgets, expensive quotas and inadequate internet network factors. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between online learning and student achievement during the covid 19 period. This study is a quantitative study using a descriptive correlative design with a cross sectional approach, the population in this study was grade 12 students and the number of samples was 145 respondents with random sampling technique. Data analysis using Spearman Rank test. The results showed that more than half of the respondents (56.8%) considered online learning to be ineffective and more than half of the respondents (70.3%) had good learning achievement. The results of the Spearman Rank test obtained a value (p value = 0.000 < 0.005 and r = 0.378) so that Ha is accepted, then there is a weak relationship between online learning and student achievement at SMA Negeri 7 Singkawang. Online learning becomes ineffective because it is caused by several factors, namely slow internet network, expensive internet quota prices, student behavior is difficult to monitor so they become inactive in learning. It is hoped that the school and family will work together to improve student learning achievement to be more effective.

Abstract

The use of modules allows students to learn independently according to their abilities and interests, but it can also develop the ability to interact directly with the environment and other learning resources. This study aims to produce a module based on metacognitive strategies to reduce misconceptions on salt hydrolysis material. This research is a Research and Development by adapting the research and development stages modified by Sukmadinata with one group pretest-posttest design which is treated with a limited trial sample of 20 students of class XI MIPA at SMAN 1 Lamongan. The research instrument used was students' conception test sheets given before and after learning with the number of items, namely 5 reasoned multiple-choice questions accompanied by CRI (Certainty of Response Index). The results showed that in the concept of the hydrolysis reaction there was a change in misconception (MK) to know the concept (TK) by 74%, to not know the concept (TTK) by 0%, and still have a misconception (MK) by 26%. In the concept of salt solution pH there is a shift to TK, TTK, and MK respectively by 50%, 0%, and 50%. Thus, it can be concluded that modules based on metacognitive strategies can reduce misconceptions about the concept of hydrolysis reactions by 74% and about the concept of pH of salt solutions by 50%.

Abstract

The Islamic economic system that exists today has actually existed since the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Along with the times came several thinkers and scholars who were critical of economic issues. One of them is Ibn Taymiyyah, he expressed many thoughts about economics, but in this scientific work the author wants to discuss three thoughts of Ibn Taymiyyah, namely the market mechanism, the concept of price, and monetary policy. This scientific work uses a qualitative method with a literature analysis approach in which this research examines events or history and past events that are accumulated and then analyzed. The results of this study prove that the three results of Ibn Taymiyyah's thought centuries ago are still relevant if applied to economic conditions today.
