Abstract

This research were aimed to describe validity and effectiveness of students worksheet based-on guided inquiry at pressure topic, to improve students critical thinking skill. This research used Borg and Gall research and development model which is consisted of the preliminary studies, the development of the products, and testing products. The developing of students worksheet were tested by using the matching only pretest-posttest with control group design which was done in VIIIth grade at MTs Islamiyah Sukoharjo. This research used the instrument of validations expert, students response instrument, and students critical thinking skill test instrument. This research used descriptive analysis. Based-on the result of this research,it can be concluded that the product that has been developed has higly validated and effective in increasing students critical thinking skill.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kevalidan dan keefektifan LKS berbasis inkuiri terbimbing pada materi tekanan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian dan pengembangan Borg and Gall yang meliputi: studi pendahuluan, pengembangan produk, dan pengujian produk.LKS hasil pengembangan diujicobakan menggunakan the matching only pretest postest control group design yang dilakukan di kelas VIII MTs Islamiyah Sukoharjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen validasi ahli, angket respon siswa, dan instrumen tes keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa LKS yang dikembangkan memiliki kevalidan yang sangat tinggi dan efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.Kata kunci: LKS, inkuiri terbimbing, keterampilan berpikir kritis

Abstract

The research objective was to describe the effectiveness student worksheet Project Based Learning for improving students science process skill. Samples were randomly selected from a population of seventh-grade students at SMPN 31 bandar Lampung in teaching year 2016-2017 where classes of VII B and VII I were chosen as experimental classes. This research method was a type of pre-posstest quasi experimental design. Data pretest, posttest and n-Gain scores were analyzed descriptively to elucidate the improvement of students science process skills. The practicality of learning process and the student activity at both experimental classes was observed by two-peer science teachers. Result showed that the averaged n-Gain value of each experimental classes was 0,70 which belonged to high category. Based on n-Gain value it could be concluded that student worksheet Project Based Learning was very effective to improve students science process skills. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan keefektifan LKPD berbasis Project Based Learning untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Pemilihan sampel penelitian dilakukan secara random dari populasi siswa kelas VII SMPN 31 Bandar lampung tahun ajaran 2016-2017, sehingga diperoleh kelas VII B dan VII I sebagai sampel. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pre-posttest. Analisis data meliputi hasil pretes, postes dan n-Gain untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa secara deskriptif. Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dan aktivitas siswa pada kelas eksperimen 1 dan 2 diobservasi oleh dua guru sains. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata n-gain masing-masing kelas eksperimen 0,70 dengan kriteria tinggi. Berdasarkan rata-rata n-Gain disimpulkan bahwa LKPD berbasis Project Based Learning sangat efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa.Kata kunci: LKPD, PjBL, Keterampilan proses sains.

Abstract

This research aims at determining the effectiveness of cooperative-based class climate to improve mental model and the mastery of concept. The method used in this research was quasi experiment with pree-post test design, conducted in the academic year 2016-2017 at SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung. The data collecting technique used was observation sheet for the teachers ability in teaching learning proses and students activity, guestiannaire for student activities. Mental model and concept mastery data were gained by tes , then analyzed to obtain n-Gain. Result showed that the class climate used has: high effectiveness of teachers ability in learning management, studen activites and students response, students mental model that could be improved into good and very good model mental, students concept mastery improved with n-Gain category medium.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas iklim kelas Berbasis kooperatif untuk meningkatkan model mental dan penguasaan konsep. Pemilihan sempel penelitian dilakukan secara acak dari 11 kelas pararel kelas VIII SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung, sehingga diperoleh kelas VIII H dan VIII J sebagai kelas eksperimen. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pree-post test dilaksanakan pada Tahun Ajaran 2016-2017 di SMPN 31 Bandar Lampung. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tehnik observasi untuk kemampuan guru dalam pembelajaran dan aktifitas siswa, angket untuk respon siswa. Data model mental dan penguasaan konsep diperoleh dengan test, kemudian dianalisis untuk memperoleh n-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa iklim kelas yang digunakan memiliki: Keefektifitasan yang tinggi dari kemampuan guru dalam pengelolaan pembelajaran, aktifitas siswa dan respon siswa, model mental siswa yang dapat ditingkatkan kearah model mental baik dan baik sekali, penguasaan konsep siswa meningkat dengan n-Gain berkatagori sedang.Kata Kunci: Iklim Kelas, Pembelajaran Kooperatif, Model Mental dan Penguasaan Konsep.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and explain Perception of Teachers and Students by Using Interactive Multimedia to Improve Science Literacy and Self Efficacy. The research method was descriptive method.The population in this study were ten junior high school teachers and seventy five junior high school students from five different schools. The data collection used questionnaires and data analysis techniques using percentages. The results showed that the teachers perception of learning using interactive multimedia in the aspect of implementation was low category, because teachers still use books and students worksheet. Teachers perceptions of scientific literacy aspects are low, but teachers have tried to apply them in learning. Furthermore, teachers perceptions of students self efficacy in category “medium”. Students' perceptions for aspects of learning using Multimedia interactive (MMI) and scientific literacy were still low, but on aspect of students self efficacy in the “high” category. Then, the percentage of students requirements of using MMI in learning in “high” category. It can be concluded that using MMI to improve students sains literacy and students self efficacy.

Abstract

This study developed a knowledge assessment instrument of three tier diagnostic tests based on higher order thinking skills (HOTS) which aims to diagnose students' understanding in higher-order thinking and reduce misconceptions. The research method uses ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Develop-Implement-Evaluate) and the subject is class VII junior high school students with 2017 odd semester curriculum materials. This study used HOTS-based knowledge assessment instruments of three tier diagnostic tests of 20 items. The results of the instrument expert validation test based on aspects of content, construct, and language assessment have an average score of 90, 88, and 89 with a proper assessment. The data were analyzed using rasch model and the item reliability index was 0.89, the reliability index of the respondents was 0.91, and Cronbach's alpha value was 0.93, which meant the reliability of the questions obtained was good. The results of the students 'answer patterns are six criteria: understanding concepts, misconceptions (+), misconceptions (-), misconceptions, guessing / lack of confidence / luck, and not understanding the concepts used to diagnose learners' understanding in measuring high-level thinking skills (HOTS) which is integrated with the dimensions of factual, conceptual and procedural knowledge. Misconceptions that occur in students have three criteria, namely misconception (+), misconception (-), and misconception, and the most experienced by students is a misconception (-) in the C4 cognitive level which is integrated with the conceptual knowledge dimension on the substance characteristic material . This misconception (-) can be reduced through the correct concept with the right reasons.

Abstract

Perkembangan Abad 21 menuntut kesiapan guru dalam berkontribusi dan berkompetisi dalam persaingan dunia global. Guru dituntut memfasilitasi pembelajaran yang didorong oleh perkembangan abad 21, meliputi: (1) capaian kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa, (2) beragam materi ajar yang lebih kompleks dan sulit, (3) standard proses pembelajaran, dan (4) transformasi aspek sosial, ekonomi, politik, dan budaya. Tujuan kegiatan adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kemampuan guru SD di Kota Bandar Lampung dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran berbasis keterampilan abad 21. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode informatif-partisipatif, yaitu metode yang menghendaki para guru untuk memiliki wawasan secara teoritis dan praktis dalam penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis keterampilan abad 21 melalui tahap kegiatan penyajian informasi, diskusi dan simulasi atau latihan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa capaian kemampuan akhir peserta pelatihan mencapai 83,2% baik sekali, 12,47 baik dan peserta kemampuan akhirnya kurang sekitar 4,33%. Capaian tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa pelatihan telah berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran berbasis keterampilan abad 21. DOI: https://doi.org/10.23960/rp/v1i2.hal.88-95

Abstract

This study aims to determine 1) the feasibility of inquiry-based e-LKPD, 2) the importance of e-LKPD in the process of learning mathematics in elementary schools, 3) the improvement of students' mathematics learning outcome. The syntax of inquiry-based e-LKPD is student orientation to problems, organizing students to learn, guiding the investigation of individual and group participants, developing and presenting work results, analyzing and evaluating problem-solving processes. The data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The results showed that the low thematic learning outcomes of students was due to the fact that educators had not fully used teaching materials and models that could improve learning outcomes, so it was hoped that the inquiry-based e-LKPD could improve the fourth grade students’ thematic learning. It is clear that inquiry is one of the learning strategies that can be applied as a solution in improving student learning outcomes, in accordance with the characteristics of the students. Therefore, it can be concluded that the inquiry-based e-LKPD to improve student learning outcomes in elementary schools needs to be developed.

Abstract

Technology and education are now required for the development of 21st century skills. The purpose of this study was to determine 1) the practicality of STEAM-based e-Modules in online learning, 2) the importance of STEAM-based e-Modules in online learning, and 3) the improvement of students' creative thinking skills in fifth grade on the content "My Blood Circulation is Healthy." A total of 16 students were employed in the study. Questionnaires and tests were utilized as data gathering instruments. Problem and need analysis, literature review, product design, validation, and practitioner testing were the stages of development. The findings revealed that pupils' low creative thinking abilities were attributed to teachers' failure to adequately embrace technology and their continued usage of traditional instructional materials. The STEAM-based e-Module development improved creative thinking skills of Grade 5 students.

Abstract

Practical activities during the covid pandemic are difficult to do because all learning has turned to online learning. So that students are required to carry out independent practicum at home, even though laboratory equipment and materials are quite expensive and difficult to obtain. A breakthrough is needed so that the practicum can still be carried out. One of them is independent practicum using simple equipment and materials. Independent practicum is implemented in basic chemistry courses during the odd semester. However, reflection on the practicum is needed to identify motivation and an opinion from student. The research design used was descriptive qualitative research. The research was conducted on students of the Chemical Education Study Program, University of Lampung. Data was collected by using a questionnaire through a Mentimeter. The results showed that (1) students were highly motivated to participate in independent practicum because it was interesting, (2) students' perception of independent practicum is very good, this is shown by the number of students who are helped in understanding the concept of chemistry after doing independent practicum, (3) the obstacle experienced by students during independent practicum is the difficulty of signaling in some areas which causes the upload of independent practicum videos to be often late. This research is relevant and can be a practical breakthrough for both lecturers and teachers who have limited laboratory equipment and materials by loosening the collecting of practicum videos.

Abstract

Mathematical representation and connection ability are part of the student's ability. Because of their low ability, educators will find it difficult to determine learning tools in the classroom. Therefore, finding a link between the two abilities is necessary to make it easier for teachers to prepare lessons. This study aims to determine the relationship between representational abilities and students' mathematical connections. The population in this study were all grade eight students at a state junior high school in Merbau Mataram, with a total sample of 34 selected using a class random sampling technique. The research instrument was a mathematical representation test and a connection ability test with a total of six questions. Data analysis used the correlation coefficient test of the Pearson/Product Moment formula. The results showed a significant relationship between students' mathematical representation ability and the overall connection. This means that the ability of mathematical representation is directly proportional to the ability of mathematical connections. The higher the student's mathematical representation ability, the higher the student's connection ability, and vice versa. Teachers can focus on preparing learning tools for one of these two abilities.
