Abstract

In the industrial era 4.0, students as an important part of the education system, face various conflicts and problems that they bring to school. This implies that students need to overcome challenges that are not only limited to academic matters, but also pay attention to psychological aspects that are equally important. In such situations, social-emotional learning is the right solution. With this approach, students are not only proficient in skills, but also able to deal with psychological problems such as communication skills and emotional management. This research utilizes the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to investigate various research results and sources related to Social-Emotional Learning (PSE) activities. through language teaching. Of the 130 research journals there are 69 relevant research journals. Sixty-nine of these articles identified knowledge gaps in previous research, some of which have not touched on the school level and are still very minimal at the learning level. Therefore it is worth digging deeper. This article discusses the scope of Social-Emotional Learning (PSE).

Abstract

The effect multiple representation-based scaffolding strategy in improving chemistry literacy. Objective: This study aims tyo understand the effectiveness of multiple representations-based scaffolding strateg in the topics of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions to improve the chemistry literacy skills. Method: The research used a quasi-experiment design. The subjects were 78 students of the tenth grade at SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung. The data were analyzed using Tukey test and effect size. Findings: The increase in chemistry literacy abilities of the students in the experimental class was 96.00% influenced by the application of multiple representations learning with scaffolding strategy; meanwhile, it was only 89.00% for control class with no scaffolding. Conclusion: The scaffolding strategy based on multiple-representation in chemistry learning had a high level of effectiveness in improving chemistry literacy skills. Keywords: Effectiveness, scaffolding, multiple representations, chemistry literacy DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v9.i2.201905

Abstract

Enhancing students’ activity and science concept mastery using guided-inquiry based practical manual. This quasi-experimental research aimed to understand the effectiveness of guided-inquiry based practical manual for improving students’ activity and concept mastery of science. Sixty students from SMP Negeri 1 Natar were selected as research samples in this study. This research used two types of data that is quantitative data (pretest, postes, and n-gain) and qualitative data (learning observation and student activity). The results showed that high n-gain score (0.70) for both experimental class 1 and 2. In addition, the assessment of student activity in experimental classes 1 and 2 is also quite good with the score is 86.44% and 85.84%, respectively. Therefore, the use of guided inquiry based practical manuals is highly recommended to improve students’ learning activities and mastery of the science concept. Keywords: Practical manual, guided inquiry, students’ activity, science concept master DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v8.i1.201801

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of student worksheets based discovery learning to increase concept mastery student in the experimental class 1 and class 2 experiments. The method used is pre experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design to look at the increase in the value pretest and posttest in each class experiment. The results showed that through learning using student worksheets based discovery learning can improve students mastery of concepts with high category in the experimental class 1 and class 2 experiments with each N-gain of 0.72 and 0.71.Keywords: discovery learning, worksheet, concept mastery. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v20i1.pp7-11

Abstract

The growing emphasis on culturally based education highlights the need for ethnoscience-based e-worksheets to improve students' understanding of scientific concepts. This study explores the development needs of such e-worksheets using the 4D Research and Development model, specifically focusing on the define stage through descriptive data analysis. Research instruments included interviews with natural and social sciences teachers and questionnaires assessing the needs of teachers and students. The preliminary study involved 136 students and five teachers from five elementary schools in Bandar Lampung. Findings from the teachers' needs questionnaire revealed that none (100%) had integrated natural and social sciences with local Lampung culture. Likewise, 89% of students reported never experiencing such integrated learning. Furthermore, 84% of students and all (100%) teachers strongly supported the development of ethnoscience-based e-worksheets. These findings underscore the importance of integrating local wisdom into education to enhance scientific literacy, enrich learning experiences, and foster environmental awareness.
