Abstract

Objective: Equitable access to education is a fundamental prerequisite for human capital development and social justice in Indonesia. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of education equity policies under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto, focusing on programs such as Sekolah Rakyat, the Indonesia Smart Program (PIP), and the Frontline Teacher and School Initiatives (GGD/SGD). Method: Employing a qualitative approach through library research, the study systematically reviews secondary data from scholarly literature published in the last five years, government policy documents, and reports from national and international institutions, including UNICEF and UNESCO. The analysis was conducted through thematic coding, synthesis of findings, and evaluative assessment using an input–output–outcome framework. Results: The findings reveal that affirmative programs have significantly expanded access to education, particularly in frontier, outermost, and underdeveloped (3T) regions, as well as for marginalized groups. However, persistent challenges remain in the uneven distribution and quality of teachers, inadequate physical and digital infrastructure, limited digital literacy, and policy approaches that are still largely top-down and insufficiently responsive to local contexts. These issues hinder the achievement of truly inclusive and high-quality education. Novelty: The key contribution of this study lies in its integrative perspective that combines structural (infrastructure), technological (digital platforms), human resource (teachers), and normative (human rights-based) dimensions. By advancing adaptive, evidence-based, and participatory strategies, this study provides a comprehensive framework for reshaping education policy in Indonesia toward greater inclusivity and equity.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the level of psychological well-being (flourishing) of teachers in primary schools. For this purpose, the research method was a psychological assessment using the PERMA model, which includes Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Accomplishment. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach and involved 33 teachers who had a minimum of two years of teaching experience. The data were collected through the PERMA Profiler instrument which has been translated into Bahasa Indonesia. The data were analysed using SPSS software in a descriptive manner. he results of this study revealed that the majority of teachers were in the flourished category, with high percentages in the dimensions of Positive Emotions (96.7%), Relationships (96.7%), Engagement (84.84%), Meaning (84.84%), and Achievement (84.84%). However, around 24.24% of teachers belong to the not flourished group, especially in the dimensions of Engagement and Meaning. These findings suggest that although teachers' psychological well-being is generally satisfactory, there are some areas that need improvement. The psychological assessment approach using the PERMA model provides a complete insight into the mental state of teachers and can be used as a basis for making education policies more humane and sustainable.

Abstract

This research advances the field of educational evaluation by designing and psychometrically validating an artificial intelligence (AI)- based diagnostic tool to detect discrepancies in university learning processes. The main novelty is the integration of the Provus Discrepancy Model combined with a forward-chaining inference engine. This research aims to transform evaluation from an administrative activity to an ongoing process of improvement. The tool was developed and validated through a sequential mixed-methods approach with 400 participants from 3 state universities and 8 evaluation experts. Results from the study provide evidence that the validated system created a substantial range of psychometric characteristics. These psychometric characteristics include strong content validity (SD-CVI/Ave = 0.94); high internal consistency and reliability (Cronbach's α = 0.94); solid construct validity as demonstrated through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) (CFI = 0.94; RMSEA = 0.054) and a substantial range of predictive analytics (diagnostic learning analytics), which the AI learning analytics engine evaluated learning discrepancies with a 92.4% diagnostic accuracy (47.4% more accurate than manual evaluation methods). The system's validated usefulness is demonstrated through high system usability (SUS = 88.2); high practical utility (85% total score on the Pragmatic Utility Assessment); significant utility (real-world) practical utility (detected 45 discrepancy patterns), cost efficiency (73% cost and 67% analysis time compared to traditional methods), and a range of analytics (predictive and learning discrepancy analytics). The significant contribution of this study is the development of the world's first integrated AI evaluation system that meets high methodological and psychometric standards, along with a set of real-time diagnostic analytics. Ultimately, this study developed the first truly integrated, novel paradigm evaluation system that combined the historically established evaluation construct and mechanisms with the most advanced AI capabilities, providing educators and institutions with evaluation tools to deliver data-driven pedagogical strategies and interventions in higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of a Kahoot-assisted experiential learning model on students’ IPAS knowledge competence and scientific attitudes. The study employed a quantitative quasi-experimental method using a posttest-only control group design. Two classes were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups. Data were collected using an IPAS knowledge competence test and a scientific attitude questionnaire and were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). The results revealed a statistically significant effect of Kahoot-assisted experiential learning on both outcome variables. The experimental group achieved higher mean scores in IPAS knowledge competence (86.35) and scientific attitudes (85.87) compared to the control group (82.56 and 60.56, respectively). These findings confirm that integrating experiential learning with Kahoot as an interactive digital medium enhances students’ conceptual understanding and scientific attitudes. In the context of elementary education in the digital era, this suggests that digital technology can play a more substantive role beyond merely increasing classroom engagement. When aligned with an appropriate pedagogical model, such as experiential learning, interactive digital media can facilitate meaningful learning experiences that promote conceptual mastery, active participation, reflection, and the development of positive scientific attitudes. Therefore, this integration provides a promising direction for elementary science instruction, particularly in addressing the need for innovative and pedagogically grounded digital learning practices in 21st-century classrooms.

Abstract

The Bali High Prosecutor’s Office website, a legal service channel in Bali, has not been evaluated since 2018. A preliminary study revealed several user complaints regarding malfunctioning crucial features, such as confusing workflows and unclear guidance. This can be hindering public access to the legal process in seeking justice. To this purpose, the website’s features were evaluated through research using cognitive walkthrough, heuristic evaluation, and User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). The evaluation process involved 10 general users to measure task scenario performance, 3 experts to identify qualitative issues, and 23 questionnaire respondents to measure user experience perceptions. The evaluation was conducted in three stages: initial design evaluation, prototype development, and final design evaluation. The initial design usability test revealed significant issues. There were numerous failures in executing task scenarios in the public complaints feature, with an average severity rating  of 3,27, which is in the critical category. Furthermore, clarity and accuracy were rated below average, with 50% of the products in the dataset performing worse than the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office website. This research aims to produce evidence-based interface design recommendations capable of improving the digital service quality of the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office. The contribution of this research lies in the development and validation of a high-fidelity prototype, which was evaluated using UEQ and demonstrated significant improvement across all aspects of user experience: attractiveness, clarity, efficiency, accuracy, stimulation, and novelty. This research provides a comprehensive evaluation framework adoptable by other government agencies seeking to enhance their digital public services

Abstract

Recognizing Balinese script from electroencephalogram (EEG) signals remains a challenging problem due to low signal amplitude, non-stationary dynamics, and significant inter-subject variability. Despite previous attempts, no single feature extraction method has been universally effective in addressing these limitations. To fill this gap, this study systematically evaluates five feature extraction techniques—differential entropy (DE), power spectral density (PSD), discrete wavelet transforms (DWT), Hjorth parameters, and statistical features—on the Balinese imagined spelling using electroencephalography (BISE) dataset, which contains EEG recordings specifically designed for Balinese script recognition. For classification, both artificial neural networks (ANN) and support vector machines (SVM) are applied, and their performance is validated across multiple experimental settings. Results demonstrate that DE consistently provides more stable and discriminative features than the other methods, achieving the highest classification accuracy when combined with ANN. These findings highlight the potential of DE-based approaches to advance electroencephalogram driven Balinese script recognition, offering a culturally significant contribution to brain-computer interface (BCI) research and supporting future applications in inclusive artificial intelligence, digital heritage preservation, and assistive technologies.
