Abstract

Critical thinking is an important skill in education, but its conceptualization varies across Western and Islamic paradigms. This study aims to compare the concepts, criteria, and objectives of critical thinking in Western and Islamic education. The research method used is a qualitative literature study by examining primary and secondary sources from Western and Islamic studies, and analyzing them systematically thematic. The main findings reveal that Islamic critical thinking "tafakkur" and "ulul albab” integrating reflection “rational-religious (al-Diny al-Aqlany)” because in it there is tadabbur and tadzakkur, while Western critical thinking emphasizes “rationality-progressivism”. Critical thinking aims to enable a person to understand themselves, their environment, and their world, so they can make good decisions, solve problems, and produce something new. Meanwhile, in Islam, purpose tafakkur and ulul albab is "ma’rifat”. Ma’rifat is the knowledge of knowing Allah, knowing oneself, knowing the world, and knowing the afterlife. In Islam critical thinking is not only sharp mind, but also sharp awareness of the heart so that it becomes wiser. Although critical thinking from a Western and Islamic perspective tends to differ in concepts, criteria, and objectives, integration between the two is very important. Synergy between Western and Islamic education is needed to design a holistic curriculum that is responsive to the challenges of contemporary Islamic pedagogy.

Abstract

Indikator dari indeks pengembangan sumber daya manusia (Human Development Index) diantaranya adalah masyarakat minimal memiliki kemampuan terbebas dari tributa (buta aksara, hitung dan berbahasa Indonesia). Salah satu kabupaten di Kalimantan Selatan yang cukup tinggi buta aksaranya adalah Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Tengah yang menempati posisi keempat buta aksara di Kalimantan Selatan. Untuk mengatasi buta aksara di Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Tengah ini tentu memerlukan peran serta semua pihak, termasuk dari unsur Perguruan Tinggi. Melalui program kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, Program studi PPKn FKIP Universitas Lambung Mangkurat diharapkan dapat meminimalisir angka buta aksara, khususnya di desa Patikalain Kecamatan Hantakan Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Tengah. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan metode ceramah, latihan, tanya jawab dan diskusi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama dua hari yaitu tanggal 24 dan 25 Mei 2021, dan dihadiri oleh 20 orang warga. Dari pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dapat disimpulkan : (1) Peserta mempunyai motivasi yang tinggi dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran baca tulis baik huruf Latin maupun Hijaiyah; (2) Sebagian besar peserta sudah dapat mengenal huruf Latin dengan baik, dan sebagian sudah mampu untuk membaca walaupun belum lancar; (3) Sebagian peserta sudah mampu mengenal huruf Hijaiyah dengan baik, namun belum mampu untuk merangkainya. Mengingat tingginya minat warga desa Patikalain untuk belajar baca tulis, khususnya untuk huruf Hijaiyah, maka kepada pihak terkait hendaknya bisa melanjutkan kegiatan ini secara terprogram.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low levels of concentration and learning interest among third-grade students during learning activities, particularly in the Qur'an Hadith subject.. According to Piaget’s theory, students aged 8–9 years are in the concrete operational stage, which requires learning approaches that are engaging and interactive. Wordwall media was chosen because it can create an active and enjoyable learning environment, which is expected to enhance student engagement in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of using Wordwall media on students’ learning interest The research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental approach, using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, focusing on third-grade students at a Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The data were analyzed using various statistical tests, including validity and reliability tests, normality test, simple linear regression, t-test, and coefficient of determination. The results showed that Wordwall media had a significant effect on students’ learning interest. This is indicated by a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, and a t-value (6.305) greater than the t-table value (1.661). The R Square value of 0.299 indicates that 29.9% of the variation in learning interest was influenced by the use of Wordwall media, while the remaining 70.1% was influenced by other factors. Therefore, the use of Wordwall media can be considered an effective strategy to improve students’ learning interest in the Qur'an Hadith subject at MIN 1 Samarinda.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi penerapan etnomatematika berbasis motif batik lokal dalam pembelajaran matematika, serta implementasinya melalui pembuatan pola digital menggunakan perangkat lunak desain grafis di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah mixed-methods dengan desain convergent parallel embedded, menggabungkan analisis kuantitatif (tes pemahaman geometri, rubrik produk digital, dan angket sikap) serta kualitatif (observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi). Subjek penelitian 20 siswa kelas VIII. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman geometri dan pola dari rata-rata skor pretest 62 menjadi posttest 85 (p 0,05; Cohen’s d = 0,92). Kualitas produk pola digital meningkat dari 65 menjadi 88 dengan reliabilitas antar-penilai tinggi (ICC = 0,84). Peningkatan juga terjadi pada sikap dan motivasi belajar siswa dari skor 70 menjadi 90, terutama dalam dimensi apresiasi budaya lokal (34%) dan kepercayaan diri terhadap teknologi (30%). Analisis kualitatif mengungkap bahwa siswa mengalami transformasi pemaknaan terhadap matematika sebagai bagian dari budaya, menunjukkan kreativitas tinggi dalam desain, serta membangun kolaborasi dan refleksi melalui proyek kelompok. Integrasi motif batik lokal dan perangkat lunak desain grafis terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan konseptual geometri, kreativitas digital, serta kesadaran budaya siswa. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya etnomatematika sebagai strategi pedagogis yang mampu menghubungkan budaya lokal, teknologi digital, dan pembelajaran matematika secara kontekstual dan bermakna.

Abstract

Unlike the tombs of other Islamic broadcasters, the tomb of Raden Mas Suryodilogo has not received good attentions from the government and the public. The main purpose of this community service is to publish this historical site through digitization in the form of making a video and an infographic poster. This project is implemented from February to July 2022 using the Asset-based Community Development (ABCD) approach which emphasizes a community-driven element. The service team has carried out eight stages starting from team formation, training of trainers, appreciation interviews, asset mapping, observation and literature studies, FGD, making videos and posters, socialization to monitoring, and evaluation. In general, societies in Pamboang realize that they have assets and potential including religious tourism in the form of relics of Raden Mas Suryodilogo so the team did not find any obstacles when mapping assets. The community is also actively involved and willing to participate at the time of image taking and to disseminate information through the output of this PkM. ==== Berbeda dengan makam tokoh penyiar Islam lainnya, makam Raden Mas Suryodilogo belum mendapat perhatian yang baik dari pemerintah dan masyarakat. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan memublikasikan situs bersejarah tersebut melalui digitalisasi berupa pembuatan video dan poster infografis. PkM ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari hingga Juli tahun 2022 dengan menggunakan pendekatan Asset based Community Development (ABCD) yang menekankan unsur community driven. Tim pengabdi telah melaksanakan delapan tahapan yang dimulai dari pembentukan tim, training of trainers, wawancara apresiasi, pemetaan aset, observasi dan studi pustaka, FGD, pembuatan video dan poster, sosialisasi, hingga monitoring dan evaluasi. Secara umum, masyarakat menyadari bahwa mereka memiliki aset dan potensi wisata termasuk wisata religi berupa peninggalan Raden Mas Suryodilogo sehingga tim tidak menemukan kendala pada saat pemetaan aset. Masyarakat juga terlibat aktif dan bersedia untuk berpatisipasi pada saat pengambilan gambar hingga penyebaran informasi melalui output dari PkM ini.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to probe how to provide a teaching method which accommodates learning styles preferred by students and boost their learning achievement in Pronunciation Practice course by using Color Vowel approach. This qualitative research was conducted at the English Education study program of Islamic State University Datokarama Palu where second semester students were taken as participants. Data gathered from pre-research survey, field notes, questionnaire, and mid-term test result analysis showed that a significant correlation between the use of Color Vowel approach and students’ learning achievement in Pronunciation Practice course was undeniable. It helped the students to easily comprehend material being taught as well as yielded a relaxed learning environment where students could learn best.

Abstract

In elementary schools, civic education (PPKn) is still predominantly centered on traditional teacher-centered approaches. These approaches do not actively engage students and do not help them develop critical thinking skills.  This study tested the TANGGAP learning model, which integrates three approaches: Problem Based Learning (PBL), Numbered Head Together (NHT), and Talking Stick, to improve student activity, critical thinking skills, and learning outcomes. The study was conducted in two cycles on 17 students in fourth grade at SDN Kebun Bunga 3 Banjarmasin. Rubric evaluasi critical thinking, observation sheets for student and teacher activities, and learning outcome tests. Using descriptive quantitative analysis, the data were analyzed to determine the percentage increase for each indicator. The results showed that the TANGGAP model is effective in raising the quality of civics learning in elementary schools by encouraging students to actively participate, work together, and mastery their material. The increase in student activity was 41% to 94%, critical thinking skills was 35% to 88%, and learning mastery was 47% to 94%.

Abstract

This article aims to explain how cultural misaccommodation of rituals in local communities can occur. Bissu as a component of society comes along with negotiations to maintain the rituals and religiosity that have shaped their identity. The presence of bissu in the ritual procession is an authority that they have culturally. Throughout the history of civilisation, bissu were the main, sacred and central party in the ritual procession. However, what happened on Bone's 62nd anniversary was a moment when bissu were not involved. This article is based on data obtained from online searches. News and article searches were conducted as a basis for analysing the cultural misaccommodation of local communities. This article shows that the misaccommodation of bissu in the ritual procession is a weakening of identity and existence. The government in this case becomes the party that eliminates bissu from its roots, the dynamics of polarisation of the ruling group along with a set of laws make bissu misaccommodation a hegemony. Along with the society that places bissu as a minority party, both socially and culturally. Therefore, it is necessary to affirm the authority of bissu as a party that maintains cultural sustainability.

Abstract

Analisis butir soal merupakan alat ukur untuk mengetahui kualitas soal yang ingin di uji. Alat ukur yang baik apabila memiliki sifat valid dan reliabilitas. Langkah analisis ini akan diperoleh soal yang berkualitas dan mampu mengukur kemampuan peserta didik dalam memahami materi yang sudah dipelajarinya. Oleh karena itu menganalisis butir soal merupakan hal yang sangat penting dilakukan oleh seorang guru. Namun berdasarkan fakta di lapangan, khususnya guru-guru Pendidikan Pancasila yang tergabung dalam organisasi MGMP Pendidikan Pancasila di Kabupaten Tanah Laut, sebagian besar belum melakukannya. Salah satu yang menjadi penyebabnya adalah kurangnya keterampilan dan pengetahuan tentang analisis butir soal tersebut. Salah satu aplikasi yang bisa digunakan dengan mudah untuk melakukan analisis butir soal adalah Anates.Kegiatan pelatihan ini membawa perubahan yang cukup signifikan terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam menganalisis butir soal. Hal ini dapat diketahui dari hasil observasi dan tes yang dilakukan. Sebelum pelatihan 20% peserta yang dapat memahami dengan baik tentang analisis butir soal. Namun setelah pelatihan peserta yang bisa memahami tentang analisis butir soal meningkat menjadi 60%. Begitu pula dengan keterampilan dalam menggunakan aplikasi Anates. Sebelumnya pelatihan tidak ada seorangpun peserta yang terampil. Setelah pelatihan, terdapat 20% peserta yang sudah bisa mempraktikan penggunakan aplikasi Anates baik soal dalam bentuk pilihan ganda maupun soal subjektif
