Abstract

Background: Plantar fasciitis is a fascia inflammation characterized by symptoms of severe pain in the heel caused by microtrauma to the plantar fascia. Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) and plantar stretching exercise (PSE) are two physiotherapy intervention strategies that can be used to treat plantar fasciitis. Method: This study was conducted at Poltekkes Jakarta 3 in March-May 2023 using a quasi-experimental method with two groups pre-posttest with a control group design. The sample size was 28 persons, divided into two groups of 14 people each, the intervention and control groups, and chosen using the purposive sampling method. The dependent variable was the foot functional ability of the as measured by the Foot Function Index (FFI). The independent variables were ESWT and PSE intervention in the intervention group and PSE in the control group. Data analysis consisted of univariate and bivariate with paired sample t-test and independent t-test. Results: The mean FFI values in the intervention and control groups before and after intervention were 44.44, 18.17, 47.80, and 32,13, respectively. The probability value of the paired sample t-test results in the intervention and control groups was 0.000, while the independent t-test results before the intervention were 0.606 after 0.002. Conclusion: The provision of ESWT intervention plus PSE was more effective than PSE alone in improving the functional ability of the feet in plantar fasciitis sufferers.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease represented by hypoglycemia due to abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both. Normal blood glucose levels influence the healing process for DM complications. Reducing blood glucose levels can be achieved by releasing the hormone endorphin, secreted when the patient is calm and comfortable. One way to achieve self-calm is by getting spiritual care. Spiritual care is a process of healing by fulfilling spiritual needs. The objective assessment of DM is seen in hematological parameters, one of them is Glycate Haemoglobin (HbA1c). This study to identifying the analysis between the knowledge of spiritual care and HbA1c assessment. Methods: This was a quantitative research correlation analysis design using person correlation. The dependent variable is the patient's knowledge of spiritual care, while the independent variable is HbA1C levels. The sample is 32 from 115 DM patients with new cases in RSUD Cibinong, Bogor 2022. questionnaire used to collect the knowledge of spiritual care and HbA1c assessment was taken at the same time. Results: The results showed that the majority were female (68.8%), aged 56-65 years (46.9%), knowledge level high category (56.3%), and HbA1c levels were normal (81.3%.) Bivariate analysis has significant results in identifying the relationship between the knowledge of spiritual care and HbA1c levels in DM patients (p-value 0.02). Conclusions: This study concludes that spirituality care can influence HbA1c assessment to a normal level. Spirituality care could be non-pharmacological therapy for DM patients.

Abstract

Background: To realize quality human resources, namely human resources who are physically, mentally and socially healthy and have optimal productivity, continuous efforts are needed to maintain and improve health in all areas, including in the school environment. From year to year, the number of high school students and equivalents shows a fairly high number. The results of a national survey show that elementary, junior high and high school children, both male and female, show a lack of vegetable and fruit consumption and consume unhealthy foods such as foods with flavorings, junk food or instant foods. In addition, there are also school children who smoke and consume alcohol and lack physical activity. For this reason, strategic efforts are needed so that schools can become a conducive environment for the formation and development of clean and healthy living behaviors. The focus of community service activities is to support School Health Efforts by forming peer counselors as those who are expected to accelerate the process of adopting Clean and Healthy Living Behaviors among students. For this reason, the first activity carried out is counseling on physical activity. Objectives: Recruiting peer counselors as agents of change/health cadres in the school environment who can encourage the formation of Clean and Healthy Living Behaviors and increase knowledge about physical activity. Method: The community service program was implemented on June 8, 2024. The activities carried out included problem identification and counseling. Results: The community service activity succeeded in recruiting 25 students as peer counselors and increasing knowledge about physical activity.

Abstract

Backround: Uninfectious disease, particularly hypertension, have become a significant global health concern. Hypertension is a silent killer that often goes unnoticed until complications arise. Hypertension has risk factors that can be prevented through non-pharmacological approaches, such as health education and physical activity. Objective: This study aims to empower the community in handling hypertension by increasing awareness, knowledge, and physical activity through counseling and low impact aerobic exercise. Method: This activity begins with a door-to-door survey to identify problems, then a pre-tests, health screenings, health education sessions, aerobic exercise training, post-tests, and program evaluation. Results: The program was successful in raising awareness and knowledge about hypertension among the participants, as evidenced by the significant improvement referring to the questionnaire test results. Abstract

Creating long-life learners has become a long-term educational goal in many educational settings including Indonesia. An initial step towards this goal is to develop autonomy in students. Currently, learner autonomy or independence in learning has been promoted in higher education through the concept of Merdeka Belajar (freedom of learning) by the Minister of Education and Culture. In high schools, the 2013 curriculum has also emphasized learner autonomy development. Thus it is necessary to look back at how teachers perceived the concept of learner autonomy long before the concept of Merdeka Belajar was introduced. This article reports a quantitative study that investigated English teachers’ perceptions of learner autonomy and its development in Indonesia. This study was conducted in 2014 using a questionnaire and involved 145 high school English teachers in Magelang Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. The findings revealed that these Indonesian teachers held positive perceptions of learner autonomy and strongly supported psychological elements of learner autonomy. These EFL teachers also showed strong support for social aspects of autonomy. These junior high school teachers perceived social interaction and cooperation as important for promoting learner autonomy in the Indonesian context.

Abstract

PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) issued the latest intercity train, namely the KRL Commuter Line where this transportation operates to replace the Prambanan Express (Prameks) train in serving the Yogyakarta-Solo corridor which is called the KRL Commuter Line Jogja-Solo or KRL Joglo, or also called Lin Yogyakarta. This was done as an innovation from PT. Indonesian Railways (Persero) to improve services to the community. The increase in passengers is more because it is cleaner, more comfortable, on time, and the train is cooler compared to prameks. For ticket booking, it is also easier to KRL because you only need a card that is filled with a balance, unlike Prameks who have to book first using the application / have to queue at the counter. The purpose of this study is to analyze the innovation of public transportation from Prambanan Express to Electric Train (KRL) in an effort to improve services to the people of Jogja - Solo. The research approach uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The determination of informants in this study uses purposive sampling techniques or purposeful sampling. From the results of the study, it is known that the innovation of public transportation from Prambanan Express to Electric Train (KRL) in an effort to improve services to the people of Jogja – Solo has been going well. There are several obstacles that occur both internally and externally. External obstacles such as the occurrence of fallen trees can be attempted with the precision of the officer giving directions to [there are passengers]. Internal obstacles such as the accumulation of passengers at the station, especially on every weekend, can be overcome with the addition of KRL cars. PT. Kereta Commuter Indonesia continues to improve the competence of its employees through various trainings held. Thus, the vision of PT. The Indonesian Commuter Train can be achieved, namely "Providing transparent and professional Public Information services".
