Abstract

Local wisdom refers to the knowledge, values, and cultural heritage of a community that is passed down through generations and needs to be preserved. One way to achieve this is by integrating local wisdom into education, allowing students to recognize and appreciate the richness of their local culture. The purpose of this study is to explore local wisdom in the fields of environmental biology, food and health, reproduction, and application in Pariaman City. These four areas serve as a contextual approach that connects Biology material with students’ daily lives. This study employed a descriptive method with a qualitative phenomenological approach. The subjects consisted of 10 informants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings reveal that local wisdom in Pariaman City encompasses the four identified fields, each of which can support contextualized Biology learning. In conclusion, integrating these aspects of local wisdom into education not only enriches Biology instruction but also fosters cultural awareness among students. Future research is recommended to examine effective strategies for implementing local.

Abstract

Biology learning at the senior high school level often involves complex material that requires not only deep understanding but also high motivation. Observations at SMAN 3 Panyabungan revealed that students demonstrated low levels of critical thinking and interest in learning, as the teaching approach primarily relied on textbooks and worksheets without incorporating engaging or contextual media. To address this issue, a Biology Learning Module based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) was developed, integrating the local wisdom of Lubuk Larangan. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, utilizing the ADDIE model, which comprises analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects were Grade X Phase E students of SMAN 3 Panyabungan in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected using validity questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, motivation questionnaires, and test instruments. The developed module achieved a validity score of 95.6% (very valid) and a practicality score of 4.0 (very practical). In terms of effectiveness, the module significantly improved students’ critical thinking skills and increased their learning interest, with an average percentage of 73.2% (classified as good). The Biology Learning Module, based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and integrated with Lubuk Larangan local wisdom, is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ motivation, learning interest, and argumentation skills, particularly in ecosystem-related topics.

Abstract

This study discusses the importance of motivation in the learning process, with a focus on the use of the educational game wordwall as a medium to enhance students’ learning motivation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of using wordwall in increasing students’ learning motivation based on a literature review. In the reviewed literature, the author found that low learning motivation is often caused by a lack of teacher innovation in utilizing technology. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study collected and analyzed ten articles published between 2020 and 2025 that highlighted the effectiveness of wordwall. The analysis results indicate that wordwall not only enhances learning motivation but also improves students’ understanding of the material, critical thinking skills, and creativity. The gamification elements in wordwall create an interactive and enjoyable learning experience, effectively addressing the boredom often associated with conventional teaching methods. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating technology-based learning media into modern teaching strategies to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

Preparing the current generation for education is very important. Implementation of the learning process is a way to achieve educational goals. Learning media can support the learning process and function as well as possible. Student Worksheets are one type of effective learning resource (LKPD). Designing LKPD with social and scientific issues (Socio-Scientific Issues) integrated into it is one way to inspire students to actively seek solutions to the challenges they face. LKPD produced with an emphasis on problem solving is LKPD that can be used in learning. When LKPD is combined with social studies topics, students become more involved, independent and cooperative, thereby helping them solve problems and sharpen their critical thinking skills. Through a study of various journal papers that are related to each other and published between 2018 and 2024, this research uses descriptive research in the form of literature review. Referenced papers are published in Indonesian and English and can be found in a number of media databases, including Google Scholar and Science Direct. SSI's integrated LKPD has an impact on the teaching and learning process, according to the findings of the article review, because it helps students become aware of the dangers of the environment around them. Considering that the Integrated Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) LKPD can improve students' critical thinking, it can be said to be suitable for use in the classroom.  Keywords: Student Worksheet, Literature Review, Socio-Scientific Issue

Abstract

Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) has been widely recognized for its positive impact on teaching practices, yet its foundational concepts and relationship with students cultural backgrounds, diversity, and specific implementation in science education to foster technopreneurship remain underexplored. This study addresses this gap by systematically identifying and constructing the concept of CRT and its integration with technopreneurship in science education using the PRISMA systematic literature review method. Data were collected from reputable international and national journal articles published between 2018 and 2023. The findings reveal that CRT in science education serves as a framework for teaching that integrates students knowledge, experiences, cultural backgrounds, and environments with scientific methods while respecting individual diversity. Effective implementation requires teachers commitment and skills to create inclusive learning environments tailored to diverse student characteristics. Importantly, CRT inspires students to design technological innovations that address cultural challenges, thereby fostering entrepreneurial interest and capabilities. This study contributes novel insights into how CRT in science education bridges cultural understanding and technopreneurship development, offering a transformative approach to science teaching that aligns with global and local educational needs.
