Abstract

This research aims to analyze the quality of scientific literacy questions on biodiversity material using the ANATES application. ANATES (Test Analysis) is a computer application specifically developed to measure and evaluate the quality of exam questions. The research was conducted by collecting data from a collection of scientific literacy questions on biodiversity material and then analyzing it using ANATES. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. This research was carried out at Padang State University. The research subjects are Biology students in 2023 who are taking basic science courses. The population is all biology students in 2023 who are taking basic science courses. In this case, the sample used was only one class, namely biology education class C, totaling 35 people. The instrument used was scientific literacy questions on biodiversity material, totaling 25 questions. Next, the items are analyzed using ANATES to evaluate validity, reliability, level of difficulty, discriminating power, and distractor quality. The results of the analysis provide an in-depth picture of the quality of the scientific literacy questions on biodiversity material. It is hoped that the findings of this research can contribute to the development of better evaluation instruments for measuring students' understanding of biodiversity material. The implications of this research can be used by teachers, curriculum developers, and educational researchers to improve the quality of science learning at the secondary education level

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Local wisdom refers to the knowledge, values, and cultural heritage of a community that is passed down through generations and needs to be preserved. One way to achieve this is by integrating local wisdom into education, allowing students to recognize and appreciate the richness of their local culture. The purpose of this study is to explore local wisdom in the fields of environmental biology, food and health, reproduction, and application in Pariaman City. These four areas serve as a contextual approach that connects Biology material with students’ daily lives. This study employed a descriptive method with a qualitative phenomenological approach. The subjects consisted of 10 informants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings reveal that local wisdom in Pariaman City encompasses the four identified fields, each of which can support contextualized Biology learning. In conclusion, integrating these aspects of local wisdom into education not only enriches Biology instruction but also fosters cultural awareness among students. Future research is recommended to examine effective strategies for implementing local.

Abstract

Biology learning at the senior high school level often involves complex material that requires not only deep understanding but also high motivation. Observations at SMAN 3 Panyabungan revealed that students demonstrated low levels of critical thinking and interest in learning, as the teaching approach primarily relied on textbooks and worksheets without incorporating engaging or contextual media. To address this issue, a Biology Learning Module based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) was developed, integrating the local wisdom of Lubuk Larangan. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, utilizing the ADDIE model, which comprises analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects were Grade X Phase E students of SMAN 3 Panyabungan in the 2024/2025 academic year. Data were collected using validity questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, motivation questionnaires, and test instruments. The developed module achieved a validity score of 95.6% (very valid) and a practicality score of 4.0 (very practical). In terms of effectiveness, the module significantly improved students’ critical thinking skills and increased their learning interest, with an average percentage of 73.2% (classified as good). The Biology Learning Module, based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and integrated with Lubuk Larangan local wisdom, is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ motivation, learning interest, and argumentation skills, particularly in ecosystem-related topics.

Abstract

This study was designed to create an inquiry-based e-module that integrates local wisdom for learning the topic of Anaerobic Respiration. The aim was to ensure that this e-module is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' scientific process skills (SPS) and their ability to collaborate, especially for students in Phase F at SMA Negeri 2 Plus Panyabungan. The background of this study is based on the low level of scientific process skills, especially in connecting concepts (11%) and analyzing (24%), as well as weak collaboration skills (53.33% included in the low category). This study followed the research and development (R&D) method using the Plomp model, which consists of three phases: initial investigation, prototype development, and evaluation. The results showed that the developed e-module was highly valid, with an average score of 95.37%, very practical as indicated by student responses (93.01%) and teacher responses (97.92%), and effective in improving scientific process skills, evidenced by significant results (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05), and in improving student collaboration, which increased from the sufficient category to the very high category. Therefore, it can be concluded that this inquiry-based e-module that integrates local wisdom is suitable for use as an innovative learning resource to improve scientific process skills and collaboration among students studying Anaerobic Respiration.
