Abstract

Background: Chemotherapy is a crucial therapy for breast cancer patients, and its success heavily depends on patient compliance. However, despite extensive in the impact of  Non-compliance, there is still limited understanding of the specific factors influencing chemotherapy adherence among breast cancer patients, highlighting the need to re identify these contributing factors. Purpose: This study aims to identify the determinant factors related to chemotherapy adherence among breast cancer patients at the West Sumatera Provincial Hospital. Methods: This study is a quantitative research with a cross-sectional design. An accidental sampling technique was used, with a total of 81 patients. Bivariate analysis was conducted using the chi-square test (p < 0.05), and multivariate analysis was performed using Multiple Logistic Regression. Results: The results showed that 61.7% of patients had good compliance. Factors associated with compliance included good self-efficacy, low knowledge, feeling bothered by the side effects of chemotherapy drugs, and effective nurse interpersonal communication. Multivariate analysis revealed that self-efficacy and drug side effects had a significant relationship with compliance (p < 0.05). Drug side effects were the most significant factor (OR = 12.223, 95% CI: 1.371 to 109.015, p < 0.05). Conclusion: The findings of this study highlight the importance of managing drug side effects and enhancing self-efficacy through patient education and improved nurse interpersonal communication. These measures are expected to improve the quality of nursing care and patient outcomes.

Abstract

The use of the Surgical Safety Checklist (SSC) is associated with improving patient care according to nursing process standards includes the quality of work of the operating room nurse team. The form of professionalism in the operating room is how the application of a surgical safety checklist as the standard procedure for patient safety in the operating room. This study aims to determine the relationship of characteristics, knowledge, and motivation of nurses in the application of the surgical safety checklist in the operating room of a Batam city hospital. This research is quantitative using an observational analytic research design. This study was conducted on 67 nurses who were taken by total sampling. This research was conducted in three Batam City Hospitals, with hospital accreditation at the same level. Data were analysed by univariate and bivariate using the chi-square test. The results of the study found that most nurses had education at diploma level, with a working period experiences of > 6 months (82%); good knowledge (53.7%) with low motivation (57.7%). There is a relationship between education (p = 0.042); length of work experience (p = 0.010); knowledge (p = 0.002); and motivation (p = 0.05) with the application of SSC. It is expected that health services carry out SSC following the applicable SOPs in the Hospital so that it can reduce work accident rates and improve patient safety. Penerapan Surgical Safety Checklist (SSC) berhubungan langsung dengan kualitas asuhan keperawatan yang termasuk adalah bagaimana perawat menerapkan fungsi sebagai bagian dari kamar operasi. Bentuk profesionalisme ini menjadi standar bagaimana kemampuan perawat menerapakan SSC. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui hubungan karakteristik perawat, pengetahuan dan motivasi dengan penerapan SSC di kamar operasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif Cross Sectional dengan jumlah sampel 67 orang perawat kamar operasi. Data dianalisa dengan distribusi frekuensi dan uji hubungan bivariat. Didapatkan penerapan SSC perawat kota Batam masih kurang baik, dengan faktor yang mempunyai hubungan adalah Pendidikan, pelatihan dan pengetahuan. Diharapkan perawat mampu menerapkan SSC sesuai dengan Standar pelaksanaan fungsi perawat dikamar operasi.

Abstract

Hemodialysis is one of the management of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD. Hemodialysis can cause various complications, such is Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). RLS conditions occur due to increased uremic toxic, causing complaints in the form of pain in the upper or lower extremities, burning sensation, movement that can not be controlled or numbness.The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of patients with Restless Legs Syndrome in Chronic Kidney Disease patients in the Hemodialysis Room.The design of this study was descriptive with a purposive sampling. The subjects in this study were 32 respondents. The results showed that the characteristics of RLS sufferers are on average in the late adult age range, most genders are male, most High School educators, the average length of dialysis undergoing above 4 years, many RLS sufferers do not work, most comorbidities are diabetes mellitus and hypertension and the average urea level of respondents 105 gr / dl. RLS condition identification needs to be done so that it can be known early so that the severity of RLS can be corrected immediately Hemodialisismerupakan salah satu penanganan penyakit ginjal kronik atau Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD. Hemodialisis dapat menimbulkan berbagai komplikasi salah satunya adalah Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). Kondisi RLS terjadi diakibatkan uremic toxic yang meningkat sehingga menimbulkan keluhan berupa rasa nyeri pada ekstremitas atas maupun bawah, rasa terbakar, terjadi pergerakan yang tidak dapat dikontrol maupun rasa kebas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik penderita Restless Legs Syndrome pada pasien Chronic Kidney Disease di Ruang Hemodialisa. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu purposive sampling.Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 32 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik penderita RLS rata-rata berada dalam rentang usia dewasa akhir, jenis kelamin terbanyak yaitu laki-laki, pendidilkan terbanyak Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA), rata-rata lama menjalani HD terbanyak diatas 4 tahun, penderita RLS banyak yang tidak bekerja, penyakit penyerta terbanyak yaitu diabetes melitus dan hipertensi dan rata-rata kadar ureum responden 105 gr/dl. Identifikasi kondisi RLS perlu dilakukan sehingga dapat diketahui lebih dini dengan demikian keparahan RLS dapat segera diperbaiki.

Abstract

Evidence-Based Practice is a systematic approach to improving the quality of nursing practiceby collecting the best evidence. The application of Evidence Based Nursing Practice (EBNP) in nursing services has focused on the hospital setting. The concept of EBNP is acceptable but difficult to implement, so it is necessary to study how nurses' perceptions of EBNP are. This study aims to explore nurses' perceptions about EBNP at Bukittinggi Hospital. Qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with six participants using purposive sampling technique. Criteria for inclusion in the sample are the head of the room or the team leader in the nursing service unit. Data were analyzed by the Colaizzi method. The results this research found four themes, (1) Lack of nurses 'understanding of EBNP, (2) Obstacles in EBNP implementation (3) Nurses' expectations in implementing EBNP, (4) Benefits in implementing EBNP. The conclusion this research is the lack of nurses 'understanding of EBNP, there are obstacles in implementing EBNP, nurses' expectations in implementing EBNP and the advantages in implementing EBNP Evidence-Based Practice adalah pendekatan sistematis untuk meningkatkan kualitas praktik keperawatan dengan mengumpulkan bukti terbaik. Penerapan Evidence Based Nursing Practice (EBNP) dalam pelayanan keperawatan telah difokuskan pada tatanan rumah sakit. Konsep EBNP dapat diterima namun sulit dalam implementasinya, sehingga perlu dikaji bagaimana persepsi perawat tentang EBNP. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi persepsi perawat tentang EBNP di RSAM Bukittinggi. Desain penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam kepada enam partisipan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Kriteria inklusi sampel adalah kepala ruangan atau ketua tim pada unit pelayanan keperawatan. Data dianalisis dengan metode Colaizzi. Hasil penelitian ditemukan empat tema yaitu (1) Kurangnya pemahaman perawat tentang EBNP, (2) Hambatan dalam penerapan EBNP (3) Harapan perawat dalam penerapan EBNP, (4) Keuntungan dalam menerapkan EBNP. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu kurangnya pemahaman perawat tentang EBNP, terdapat hambatan dalam penerapan EBNP, harapan perawat dalam penerapan EBNP dan keuntungan dalam menerapkan EBNP

Abstract

This article examines the right to life (ḥifẓ al-nafs) from the perspective of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah by critically questioning the legitimacy of Islamic law claims used to justify suicide bombings. Departing from the normative and ethical foundations of Islamic law, the study argues that the protection of human life constitutes one of the most fundamental objectives (al-darūriyyāt) of the Sharī‘ah and cannot be compromised under any circumstances. Employing qualitative library research with a normative-philosophical and maqāṣid-oriented approach, this article analyzes classical and contemporary Islamic legal thought, relevant Qur’anic verses, Prophetic traditions, fatwas, and legal frameworks related to human rights. The findings demonstrate that suicide bombings fundamentally contradict the core objectives of Islamic law, particularly the preservation of life, security, and human dignity. Claims that frame such acts as forms of jihād are shown to rely on reductive and literalist interpretations that neglect the broader ethical and teleological dimensions of Sharī‘ah. This study concludes that suicide bombings represent a severe deviation from the maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah and undermine Islam’s universal commitment to justice, peace, and the protection of human life.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of state ideology on citizen nationalism. The research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational method to analyze the relationship between ideology as the independent variable and nationalism as the dependent variable. Data were collected through research instruments that had passed validity and reliability testing, and were analyzed using the product-moment correlation technique. The results showed that state ideology has a strong and significant influence on citizen nationalism, with a correlation coefficient indicating a high level of relationship between the two variables. The coefficient of determination shows that ideology contributes substantially to the formation of citizen nationalism, while the remaining influence is affected by other factors not examined in this study. These findings indicate that strengthening the understanding and internalization of state ideology is an important strategy to enhance citizen nationalism in the era of globalization.
