Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan berfikir kritis dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran MMP (Missouri Mathematics Project) dan Problem Based Learning di kelas XI SMA Gema Buwana Desa Sei Rotan, Kec Percut Sei Tuan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif, dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen. Populasi adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Gema Buwana, tahun pelajaran 2021/2022 yang berjumlah 40 siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis varians (ANAVA). Hasil temuan ini menunjukkan: (1) Terdapat Perbedaan kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran MMP dan Problem Based Learning di kelas XI SMA Gema Buwana dengan diperoleh nilai Fhitung = 6,305 dan nilai pada  pada taraf (∝ =0,05)=4,098 yang menyatakan bahwa f hitung>f tabel (2) Tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran MMP dan Problem Based Learning di kelas XI SMA Gema Buwana dengan diperoleh nilai f hitung= 0,149 dan nilai pada f tabel pada taraf (∝=0,05)=4,098 yang menyatakan bahwa f hitung < f tabel Simpulan penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa kemampuan berfikir kritis dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa lebih sesuai diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran MMP dan Problem Based Learning   ABSTRACK                            This study aims to determine the differences in critical thinking skills and mathematical problem solving abilities of students who are taught using the MMP (Missouri Mathematics Project) learning model and Problem Based Learning in class XI SMA Gema Buwana Sei Rotan Village, Percut Sei Tuan District. This research is a quantitative research, with the type of experimental research. The population is all students of class XI SMA Gema Buwana, academic year 2021/2022, totaling 40 students. Data analysis was performed by analysis of variance (ANOVA). These findings indicate: (1) There are differences in the critical thinking abilities of students who are taught using the MMP and Problem Based Learning learning models in class XI SMA Gema Buwana with the obtained value of Fcount = 6.305 and the value of the Ftable at the level (∝ = 0.05) = 4.098 which means that Fcount>Ftable. (2) There is no difference in the mathematical problem solving ability of students who are taught using the MMP and Problem Based Learning learning models in class XI SMA Gema Buwana with the obtained Fcount = 0.149 and the value in the F_table is at level (∝=0.05) =4,098 which states that Fcount<Ftable. The conclusion of this study explains that students' critical thinking skills and mathematical problem solving abilities are more suitable to be taught using the MMP and Problem Based Learning learning models.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematik dengan metode diskusi berdasarkan tingkat IQ (Intelligence Quotient) dari tinggi hingga rendah di Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Asahan. Indikator yang dipilih yaitu kemampuan matematis siswa yakni : (1) Memahami soal dan masalah yang akan diselesaikan, (2) Membuat strategi hubungan yang logis antara soal dan rumus yang akan digunakan (3) Mengaitkan hal yang diketahui sebelumnya dengan startegi yang akan digunakan dan (4) Mengidentifikasi jawaban dari permasalahan soal dan memeriksanya kembali. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan meneliti langsung kelapangan. Subyek penelitian ini siswa-siswi Kelas XI IPA 3 Man Asahan. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan analisis data yang sudah dilakukan, diperoleh hasil penelitian yaitu siswa dengan IQ tinggi memiliki kemampuan matematis yang tinggi. Siswa dengan IQ sedang memiliki kemampuan matematis yang sedang hal ini dilihat dari siswa belum mampu memecahkan masalah secara penuh. Kemudian siswa dengan IQ rendah memiliki kemampuan matematis yang rendah sebab siswa mampu memilih prosedur atau operasi tertentu, dalam mengerjakan soal masih ada kekeliruan sehingga tidak sesuai dengan indikator pemahaman konsep.   ABSTRACK                            This study aims to determine the students' mathematical understanding ability in solving mathematical problems with the discussion method based on the level of IQ (Intelligence Quotient) from high to low at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Asahan. The indicators chosen are the students' mathematical abilities, namely: (1) Understanding the questions and problems to be solved, (2) Making a logical relationship strategy between the questions and formulas that will be used (3) Relating previously known things with the strategies to be used and ( 4) Identify the answers to the problems and check them again. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research by directly examining the field. The subjects of this study were students of Class XI IPA 3 Man Asahan. Data collection techniques with tests, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the data analysis that has been done, the results obtained are students with high IQs have high mathematical abilities. Students with moderate IQ have mathematical abilities, which can be seen from students who have not been able to solve problems in full. Then students with low IQs have low mathematical abilities because students are able to choose certain procedures or operations, in working on questions there are still errors so that they are not in accordance with the indicators of understanding the concept.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) Perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada metode diskusi dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh melalui Whatsapp dan Google Classroom; dan 2) Perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa pada metode diskusi dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh melalui Whatsapp dan Google Classroom. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif, dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen. Populasinya adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Binjai. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah simple random sampling, dimana 36 siswa pada eksperimen I dan 36 siswa pada eksperimen II. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis uji-t. Hasil temuan ini menunjukkan: 1) Tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada metode diskusi dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh melalui Whatsapp dan Google Classroom dengan nilai ????ℎ????????????????????(1,1109)<???????????????????????? (1,994); 2) Tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa pada metode diskusi dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh melalui Whatsapp dan Google Classroom dengan nilai ????ℎ????????????????????(0,0415 )<???????????????????????? (1,994).   ABSTRACK                                  This study aims to determine: 1) Differences in students' mathematical problem solving abilities taught by the discussion method in distance learning through Whatsapp and Google Classroom; and 2) Differences in students' mathematical critical thinking skills taught by the discussion method in distance learning through Whatsapp and Google Classroom. This research is a quantitative research, with a quasi-experimental type of research. The population is all students of class XI Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Binjai. The sampling technique was simple random sampling, where 36 students in experiment I and 36 students in experiment II. Data analysis was performed by t-test analysis. These findings indicate: 1) There is no difference in students' mathematical problem solving abilities taught by the discussion method in distance learning via Whatsapp and Google Classroom with a value of tcount (1,1109) < ttable (1,994); 2) There is no difference in students' mathematical critical thinking skills taught by the discussion method in distance learning via Whatsapp and Google Classroom with a value of t count (0.0415) < t table (1.994).

Abstract

Penelitian Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh pendekatan Pembelajaran Matematika Realistik (PMR) terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Latar belakang masalah ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan literasi matematis siswa yang disebabkan oleh penggunaan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi eksperimental dengan dua kelas sebagai sampel, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, masing-masing berjumlah 30 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling, dan data dikumpulkan melalui tes pretest dan posttest. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen memiliki N-Gain rata-rata 0,544, sedangkan kelas kontrol 0,301. Uji t menunjukkan bahwa nilai T-hitung 2,99 lebih besar dari T-tabel 2,000, sehingga Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Ini menunjukkan bahwa PMR berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Dengan demikian, PMR dapat menjadi alternatif yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. ABSTRACT Penelitian This study aims to examine the effect of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach on students' mathematical literacy skills. The background issue is the low mathematical literacy skills of students due to the use of conventional teaching methods. This research uses a quasi-experimental design with two classes as samples, the experimental class and the control class, each consisting of 30 students. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling, and data was collected through pretest and posttest. The analysis results show that the experimental class has an average N-Gain of 0.544, while the control class has 0.301. The t-test results show that the T-count value of 2.99 is greater than the T-table value of 2.000, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This indicates that RME has a positive effect on students' mathematical literacy skills. Therefore, RME can be an effective alternative to improve students' mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kemandirian belajar siswa. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperimen. Sampel terdiri dari 58 siswa, masing-masing 29 siswa di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Data diperoleh melalui pre-test dan post-test. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis masalah berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kemandirian belajar siswa. Rata-rata N-Gain kemampuan pemecahan masalah di kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,584 dan kelas kontrol 0,437. Kemandirian belajar siswa di kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,420 dan kelas kontrol 0,349. Uji t menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelas, baik dalam kemampuan pemecahan masalah maupun kemandirian belajar. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning model on mathematical problem solving ability and student learning independence. The research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 58 students, 29 students each in the experimental and control classes. Data were obtained through pre-test and post-test. The results showed that the problem-based learning model had an effect on students' mathematical problem solving ability and learning independence. The average N-Gain of problem solving ability in the experimental class was 0.584 and the control class was 0.437. Student learning independence in the experimental class was 0.420 and the control class was 0.349. The t-test showed that there was a significant difference between the two classes, both in problem solving ability and learning independence.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the student facilitator and explaining method on student learning outcomes with visual and auditory learning styles. This type of research is quantitative research using completely randomized design research. The subjects in this study were students of class XI MA Al-Falah. Based on the results of data analysis conducted, the researchers found that the learning outcomes of students with visual and auditory learning styles have increased. The results showed that there was a significant difference between before being given treatment and after being given treatment on student learning outcomes. Hypothesis testing with t-test at a significance level of 5%. The t-test analysis conducted on the average final test on student learning outcomes with visual and auditory learning styles showed that the value of tcount > ttable was 4.55 > 2.145, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. So that the alternative hypothesis Ha stated "There is an effect of the student facilitator and explaining method on student learning outcomes with visual and auditory learning styles".

Abstract

For students, numeracy literacy skills are very important for understanding and exploring quantitative relationships in real-world contexts. Low numeracy literacy skills among students are caused by teacher-centered learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model assisted by Independent Learning Activity Units on the numeracy literacy skills of 10th grade MA students. The quantitative methodology used in this study is a quasi-experimental design employing a post-test-only control group design. The sample consists of 60 students divided into an experimental group and a control group, selected through purposive sampling from the population of X-grade students at MAN Serdang Bedagai. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling, with the condition that both groups have a normal distribution and are homogeneous. This study used a numeracy literacy test instrument that has been proven to be valid and reliable. Data analysis techniques used the independent sample t-test. The conclusion that the use of the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by Independent Learning Activities units significantly influenced the numeracy literacy skills of grade X students at MA. Students taught using the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by Independent Learning Activity Units have been proven to be effective in improving students' numeracy literacy, particularly in the aspects of analysis, data interpretation, critical thinking, and problem solving, compared to students taught using conventional methods.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the STEM learning model on students' numeracy literacy skills. The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning model is an interdisciplinary instructional approach that integrates concepts and practices from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to solve real-world problems. This model emphasizes inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, encouraging students to apply knowledge across disciplines in a cohesive and meaningful way. STEM education aims to enhance students’ cognitive engagement and prepare them for future academic and career challenges in a rapidly advancing technological world. The study was conducted at SMP Darussalam with a sample size of 27 students. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing data analysis techniques such as normality and homogeneity tests. Subsequently, a t-test was conducted to assess the influence of the STEM model in mathematics learning. The results of the study indicate a significant effect on students' numeracy literacy skills, as evidenced by the average test scores, which increased from 18,852 on the pretest to 30,704 on the posttest. This finding suggests that the null hypothesis (H₀) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) is accepted.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP PAB 5 Patumbak pada materi himpunan dan (2) mengetahui kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa pada materi yang sama. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan partisipan seluruh siswa kelas VIII-1 SMP PAB 5 Patumbak tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes sebanyak dua soal dan wawancara berdasarkan indikator penalaran serta koneksi matematis. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data diuji melalui uji kredibilitas, transferability, dependability, dan konfirmability. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa berada pada kategori sedang, dengan pencapaian indikator memperkirakan proses penyelesaian serta menggunakan pola dan hubungan untuk menganalisis situasi matematis. Kemampuan koneksi matematis juga berada pada kategori sedang, dengan pencapaian indikator memahami hubungan antar gagasan dalam matematika dan mengenali keterkaitan antarkonsep. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas VIII-1 SMP PAB 5 Patumbak belum sepenuhnya mampu mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran dan koneksi matematisnya dalam menyelesaikan soal himpunan.  ABSTRACT This study aims to (1) determine the mathematical reasoning abilities of eighth-grade students at SMP PAB 5 Patumbak on the subject of sets and (2) determine the mathematical connection abilities of students on the same subject. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive research with participants consisting of all eighth-grade students at SMP PAB 5 Patumbak in the 2023/2024 academic year. Data were collected through two test questions and interviews based on indicators of mathematical reasoning and connections. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability tests. The results of the study indicate that students' mathematical reasoning abilities are in the moderate category, with achievements in the indicators of estimating the solution process and using patterns and relationships to analyze mathematical situations. Mathematical connection abilities are also in the moderate category, with achievements in the indicators of understanding the relationships between ideas in mathematics and recognizing the connections between concepts. These findings indicate that students in class VIII-1 of SMP PAB 5 Patumbak are not yet fully capable of developing their mathematical reasoning and connection abilities in solving set problems.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran TPS terhadap kemampuan komunikasi dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian randomized pretest-posttest control group. Populasi dalam Penelitian terdiri dari 6 kelas VII sebanyak 191 siswa, sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik random sampling yaitu 2 kelas sebanyak 60 siswa terdiri dari 30 siswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen (TPS) dan 30 siswa sebagai kelompok kontrol (direct instruction). Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan komunikasi dan pemecahan masalah matematis sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan independent t-test. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai  , hal ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan model TPS memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi dan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa model TPS lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kedua kemampuan tersebut. Penelitian ini mendukung pencapaian tujuan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ke-4, yaitu menjamin pendidikan yang berkualitas, inklusif, dan setara untuk semua.
