Abstract

This research aims to analyze elementary school teachers' perceptions in the City and Regency of Tasikmalaya regarding the use of Student Worksheets (LKPD) in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach using a questionnaire distributed to teachers in both regions. The results indicate that teachers in both the City and Regency of Tasikmalaya have a positive perception of STEM-based LKPD usage, categorized as agreement across three main indicators: awareness of STEM roles, familiarity with basic STEM concepts, and application of STEM in teaching. Despite variations in average scores between regions, the differences were not significant. Based on these findings, the researchers plan to develop STEM-based LKPD focusing on enhancing citizenship skills, one of the 21st-century competencies (6C), to support the formation of students' character as responsible global citizens. The study underscores the importance of enhancing training, providing resources, and policy support in implementing STEM education in elementary schools. Keywords: STEM Education, Student Worksheets, Elementary School Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi guru sekolah dasar di Kota dan Kabupaten Tasikmalaya terhadap penggunaan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) dalam pembelajaran berbasis STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan instrumen berupa angket yang disebarkan kepada guru di kedua wilayah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baik guru di Kota maupun Kabupaten Tasikmalaya memiliki persepsi positif terhadap penggunaan LKPD berbasis STEM, dengan kategori setuju pada tiga indikator utama: kesadaran terhadap peran STEM, keakraban dengan konsep dasar STEM, dan pengaplikasian STEM dalam pembelajaran. Meskipun terdapat variasi rata-rata skor antarwilayah, perbedaannya tidak signifikan. Berdasarkan temuan ini, peneliti merencanakan pengembangan LKPD berbasis STEM yang difokuskan pada penguatan keterampilan citizenship, salah satu dari kompetensi abad 21 (6C), untuk mendukung pembentukan karakter peserta didik sebagai warga global yang bertanggung jawab. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya peningkatan pelatihan, penyediaan sumber daya, dan dukungan kebijakan dalam implementasi pembelajaran STEM di sekolah dasar. Abstract

This study aims to identify trends in systems thinking research within the context of science education over the past decade and providing education researchers with a global perspective on the development of systems thinking. The bibliometric analysis research method is a quantitative approach used to analyze scientific literature to identify trends, publication patterns, collaborations between authors or institutions, and emerging research topics in a field of science.  The data used for bibliometric analysis is the research trend of systems thinking in science learning from 2014 to 2024, based on the Scopus database, utilizing the R Package Bibliometric and VosViewer Software. The obtained articles were then processed using thematic analysis techniques with the R Bibliometric Package to analyze primary information, annual scientific publications, article citations per year, total citations of top journals, Sankey diagrams, top author production, countries with the highest productivity, most productive affiliations, and thematic maps. The findings of this study indicate that research on systems thinking in science learning has experienced an annual growth rate of 9.6% and an average citation rate of 13.6 citations per document. Furthermore, it analyzes the thematic mapping of the obtained keywords, where the motor themes in this study such as curriculum, teaching, elementary school, student learning, and system theory are well-developed and essential for shaping research in systems thinking in science learning. The thematic mapping reveals a strong interconnection among three key themes: systems thinking, science learning, and elementary schools. These themes hold significant potential and are highly relevant for further exploration due to their high centrality, yet they remain relatively underexplored to date. The study of systems thinking skills in science learning should also consider previous research findings related to sustainable development goals, climate change, gender similarity, and conceptual frameworks.

Abstract

The ability to think critically is very important to be raised from an early age. The changing times as evidenced by the rapid development of technology can be utilized in education. H5P-based Lumi Education is one of the interactive media that can be used. However, a clear and in-depth study is needed to prove its effectiveness, before it will be applied thoroughly by educators. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of H5P-based Lumi Education interactive media in developing students' critical thinking skills in elementary schools through a literature study approach. The results of the review of various sources of scientific literature show that the use of H5P interactive media can increase students' motivation, engagement, and critical thinking skills. Interactive features such as quizzes, drag-and-drop, and interactive videos trigger deeper thinking activities. The Lumi Education platform also supports independent and reflective learning which is an important part of developing critical thinking skills. In addition, the conformity of this media with the principles of the Curriculum shows its relevance in the current educational context. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of this media is influenced by the readiness of teachers in designing content as well as the availability of supporting infrastructure. Thus, H5P-based Lumi Education has the potential as an innovative learning media to encourage learners' critical thinking skills from an early age.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a science literacy test instrument based on ethnoscience in the biodiversity material for elementary school students. The context used is the Forbidden Forest (Leuweung Gede) of Kampung Adat Kuta, which represents local wisdom values and long-standing efforts in biodiversity conservation. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D), referring to the development model proposed by Sugiyono. The instrument was developed based on the PISA 2018 scientific literacy framework, which includes three main aspects: context, knowledge (content, procedural, and epistemic), and competencies (explaining scientific phenomena, designing and evaluating scientific inquiry, and interpreting data scientifically). Internal validation results indicate that the instrument falls into the appropriate to highly appropriate category. External trials involving 32 students show that 68% of the items are valid, the instrument has high reliability (α = 0.785), most items are of moderate difficulty (60%), and 48% of the items demonstrate very good discriminating power. These findings suggest that integrating ethnoscience into assessment tools not only enhances the contextual relevance of science learning but also fosters students’ awareness of environmental conservation and local cultural heritage.

Abstract

Pembelajaran sains di sekolah dasar seringkali menghadapi tantangan, terutama dalam penyampaian konsep abstrak seperti siklus air. Topik ini seringkali menimbulkan miskonsepsi di kalangan siswa akibat minimnya media pembelajaran yang konkret dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan penggunaan water cycle box sebagai media pembelajaran alternatif yang dapat membantu siswa memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih komprehensif tentang konsep siklus air. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data seperti kuesioner, wawancara dengan guru dan siswa, serta dokumentasi. Penelitian ini melibatkan dua sekolah dasar dengan total 21 siswa dan beberapa guru kelas lima sebagai partisipan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa menikmati pelajaran sains tetapi kesulitan memahami proses siklus air, terutama karena terbatasnya penggunaan media pembelajaran yang tepat. Para guru juga mengakui minimnya alat peraga dan menyatakan dukungannya terhadap pengembangan media yang dapat merepresentasikan proses siklus air secara konkret. Water cycle box dianggap sebagai alat yang efektif untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar yang langsung dan representatif melalui elemen visual seperti gunung, danau, lautan, dan kapas untuk melambangkan awan. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa water cycle box sangat dibutuhkan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep siklus air dan mengurangi kesalahpahaman selama proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

The development of an increasingly modern era, especially in the age of globalization, which demands human resources which is a requirement for development purposes. One of the ways that can be traveled in improving the quality is through education. With the 2013 curriculum applied today, it prioritizes the self-development of students to actively involve themselves in the process of learning. 2013 curriculum According to learning is performed thematically, where learning can be combined with other materials so that students are able to understand the concept of material that is learned to be optimal. These thematic learning can be integrated with scientific approaches that are collaborated with STEM-based learning. Hence the media learning as an intermediate tool in the learning process used to convey information in the learning process between teachers to students in conveying information. It is hoped that we can create more meaningful learning with the development done to one of the learning media. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive data analysis using FGD (Focus Group Discuss) result data. Based on the FGD data obtained, the design of Lightning Tamiya Car Media is eligible and meets the criteria desired to serve as a learning medium that can be used for STEM-based Learning for the 2013 curriculum.

Abstract

Kunci keberhasilan pendidikan adalah guru. Guru merupakan suatu pekerjaan yang membutuhkan keahlian, guru dapat dikatakan sebagai suatu profesi. Dalam PISA, literasi dan numerasi menjadi salah satu poin penting pada penilaian kompetensi matematika. Guru dituntut agar mampu menyusun soal-soal literasi dan numerasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis kemampuan guru sekolah dasar dalam mengembangkan soal tes literasi dan numerasi berbasis ESD. Jenis penelititan ini yaitu kualitatif. Sumber data utama meliputi 2 guru kelas 4 di Sekolah Dasar yang berbeda. Sumber data pendukung berupa dokumen soal-soal tes tertulis. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu pedoman wawancara dan lembar studi dokumentasi. Data dikumpulkan dengan teknik wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data yaitu analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa sebagian besar guru sudah membuat soal tes literasi dan numerasi tetapi belum maksimal dikarenakan sulitnya menentukan KKO (Kata Kerja Operasional) dan memilih stimulus. Disamping itu, terkait pembelajaran berbasis ESD belum dimengerti secara konsepnya, namun pelaksanaan di lapangan sudah terealisasikan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kemampuan guru sekolah dasar dalam mengembangkan soal tes literasi dan numerasi berbasis ESD masih rendah dan perlu adanya pembinaan serta pelatihan. Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar, khususnya materi luas bangun datar, menghadapi tantangan signifikan dalam mengakomodasi keberagaman karakteristik dan kemampuan belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan E-Modul interaktif terdiferensiasi berbantuan kertas berpetak untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep luas bangun datar siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian menggunakan model ADDIE yang diintegrasikan dengan framework TPACK, melibatkan 37 siswa kelas tinggi sebagai subjek uji coba dan tiga validator meliputi ahli materi, media serta ahli pembelajaran. E-Modul dirancang dengan tiga level pembelajaran bertingkat (dasar, menengah, lanjut), fitur interaktif multimedia, dan integrasi kertas berpetak sebagai media manipulatif konkret yang mendukung diferensiasi konten, proses, dan produk pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa E-Modul memperoleh validasi sangat baik dari ahli dengan skor rata-rata 4,6 dari skala 5,0. Implementasi E-Modul terbukti efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa sebesar 28% dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional, dengan tingkat kepuasan guru mencapai 92%. E-Modul berhasil memfasilitasi pembelajaran diferensiasi yang dapat diakses secara offline maupun online, memberikan kontribusi signifikan bagi pengembangan media pembelajaran digital yang mengakomodasi keberagaman siswa di era Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of problems in the form of low conceptual understanding possessed by students in the material of the human digestive system. One of the causes of students' low understanding of concepts in the human digestive system material is due to misconceptions or misunderstandings of concepts. As for research on the identification of Student Misconceptions in the Material of the Human Digestive System in Elementary Schools, the aim is to describe misconceptions, along with knowing the causes of misconceptions. While the research method used in this study with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection instruments were in the form of essay test questions, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the average misconception experienced by students in the human digestive system material was 55.65% greater than the understanding category of 33.47% and the non-understanding category of 10.86%. Factors that cause students' misconceptions about the material of the human digestive system are caused by preconceptions, incomplete reasoning, wrong intuition, learning methods or methods used, associative thinking and abilities possessed by students, the teacher/teaching factor lacks mastery of learning materials, lack of interest of students in learning and language context. This research is expected to be a reference regarding identifying misconceptions experienced by students in the subject of the human digestive system.

Abstract

Creative thinking is an important skill that can be taught in elementary school. The application of assessment is a key element in the learning process which is related to achieving student learning outcomes and plays a role in developing these skills. So this research aims to develop an SDGs-based portfolio assessment to improve creative thinking skills in the Ecosystem material for fifth grade elementary school students. The model used in research using the Design Based Research (DBR) research model consists of four stages, namely the Identification and Analysis of Needs stage, the design stage, the Trial or Implementation stage, and Reflection. Data collection techniques include interviews, documentation studies, expert validation sheets and student and teacher questionnaires. The results of the expert assessment validation test obtained a score of 83.3%, the learning tool expert validation obtained a score of 85.7% so it was categorized as "very feasible" and language validation obtained a score of 75% so it was categorized as "decent". From the implementation results, it was found that the implementation of the use of student portfolio assessments by assigning booklets, posters and waste recycling, can increase students' creative thinking. This can be seen from the 1st review to the 2nd review, there has been an increase in the score and percentage value for each aspect or indicator in the assessment framework. This is also supported by the positive responses of students and teachers from the results of questionnaires filled out by teachers and students.
