Abstract

Bibliometric analysis related to cooperative learning methods is a new theme and has never been studied. The research pattern related to cooperative learning methods is still uncharted and it is not known how effective it is when analyzed from several previous studies. Cooperative learning chemistry concepts provide suitable solutions for improving activity of students and chemistry learning outcomes. This study aims to demonstrate an all-compassing bibliometric analysis in the terms and concepts of ‘cooperative learning’. The articles evaluated were identified through Google Scholar database as well as the perish or publish software. Furthermore, scimagojr.com (Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4) was adopted during scanning, and a total of 19 articles were analyzed from 7 reliable journals. This research using literature review method. The type of research used a bibliometric review in five measures method pioneered. These five steps describe the keyword of the search as cooperative learning chemistry, initial search results, improvement of these results, collection of initial data statistics and data analysis, as explained below. The results showed the practice of cooperative learning in chemistry is being widely accepted. However, there is a need for further research and Collaborations on inter-regional studies involving Asian scholars and developed nations in particular regions. The results showed that more than 75% of cooperative learning has a significant effect on learning outcomes. The learning model is an external factor that affects learning outcomes.

Abstract

The development of complex compounds as antibacterial continues to be carried out to overcome cases of microbial resistance. One of them is the development of complex compounds with thiocyanate and aminopyridine ligands which show good potential as antibacterial. Complex compound of zinc(II) chloride with thiocyanate and 2-aminopyridine ligands was successfully synthesized. The synthesis was carried out by mixing the reactants with ratio of Zn2+: 2-aminopyridine: SCN 1:2:2 under heating and stirring continuously for 6 hours. The Obtained beam-shaped colorless crystals were characterized using melting point, electrical conductivity, thiocyanate ion qualitative, FTIR, SEM-EDX, XRD powder and antibacterial activity against Salmonella typhi and Staphylococcus aureus test. The crystals melt at 160-165 0C. The results of the electrical conductivity test, qualitative test of thiocyanate ion, FTIR and SEM-EDX analysis indicate the presence of Zn2+, thiocyanate and 2-aminopyridine with ratio 1: 2: 2. Based on XRD powder spectral data and theoritical analysis, the complex synthesized compounds had high crystallinity and predicted has tetrahedral structure. Antibacterial test showed that against S.aureus, the compound had higher antibacterial activity than free ligands, but lower than chloramphenicol. Therefore, the antibacterial activity of the complex compound was classified as moderate.

Abstract

This study was aimed to develop teaching materials about chemical reaction rate which covered materials adapted to A-Level High School students of grade XI in Pioneer International Standard High School (RSMA-BI). The developmental research was adopting the instructional development model 4D which include four stages of development, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Instructional materials were written in English consist of seven topics titled: Reaction Rate Concept, The Exchange's Expressions, Rate Law and Reaction Order, Experimental Determination of a Rate Law, Reaction Mechanism, Theories of Reaction Rate, Factors Affecting Reaction Rate. Results of content validation from content experts obtained the average score of 3. 56 of 14 range of scores which means valid / good / decent. Test limited to high school students of RSBI obtained an average score of 3.35 (valid / good / decent). The results of the use of teaching materials obtained a score of 77.8 which is above the minimal passing grade (75). Therefore it can be concluded that the materials were feasible to be used in the classroom.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar laju reaksi dengan cakupan materi yang disesuaikan dengan A-Level untuk siswa kelas XI Rintisan Sekolah Menengah Atas Bertaraf Internasional (RSMA-BI. Rancangan penelitian pengembangan mengadaptasi model pengembangan bahan ajar Model 4D yang meliputi empat tahap pengembangan, yaitu define, design, develop dan disseminate. Produk pengembangan adalah bahan ajar kimia RSMA-BI kelas XI materi laju reaksi yang ditulis dalam bahasa Inggris menggunakan pendekatan kontekstual. Bahan ajar terdiri atas empat bagian utama yaitu pendahuluan, materi, evaluasi dan penutup. Materi tersusun atas tujuh sub materi yaitu Reaction Rate Concept, The Rates Expressions, Rate Law and Reaction Order, Experimental Determination of a Rate Law, Reaction Mechanism, Theories of Reaction Rate, Factors Affecting Reaction Rate. Hasil validasi isi dari ahli materi diperoleh nilai rata-rata 3,56 dari rentang skor 1-4 dengan kriteria valid/baik/layak. Hasil uji terbatas pada siswa SMA RSBI diperoleh nilai rata-rata 3,35 dari rentang skor 1-4 dengan kriteria valid/baik/layak. Hasil uji penggunaan bahan ajar diperoleh skor sebesar 77,8. Skor ini diatas SKM (Skor Kelulusan Minimal) yaitu 75 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar telah layak dan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize complex compounds from the Co(II) ion with mixed ligands of 2-aminopyridine and thiocyanate ions. The complexes obtained have Co(II) : 2-aminopyridine: thiocyanate ratio of 1:2:2 based on preliminary analysis by SEM-EDX, DHL, and FTIR. The complex in the form of a blue needle crystal is stable at room temperature and melts at 169 °C. Characterization shows that the complex formed is neutral. The antibacterial activity test was carried out using the diffusion method and show that the resulting complex compounds could inhibit the growth of S. typhi and S. aureus bacteria better than 2-aminopyridine.

Abstract

The synthesis of ionic complexes of cadmium(II) chloride and cobalt(II) chloride with N,N'-diethylthiourea (detu) ligands has not been previously reported. Therefore, in this research, the synthesis was carried out to study the structure and characterization of the two ionic complex compounds. The cadmium(II)-detu ionic complex was synthesized using the direct reaction method with a ratio between Cd(II) salt and detu ligand of 1:2. Meanwhile, the cobalt(II)-detu ionic complex was synthesized with a ratio between Co(II) salt and detu ligand of 2:4. The cadmium(II)-detu and cobalt(II)-detu ionic complexes have melting points of 105-108 ˚C and 122-125 ˚C, respectively. The electrical conductivity of the cadmium(II)-detu and cobalt(II)-detu complexes showed that the complexes were ionic. The FTIR analysis showed the shifting of the C=S functional group’s band to the smaller wavenumber, which indicates the coordinating detu ligand to the cadmium(II) and cobalt(II) through the S atom. The indirect evidence from 1H-NMR showed that CH3 and CH2 only slightly shifted between the free detu ligand and the Cd-detu and Co-detu complexes.

Abstract

 Abstract: The process of learning colligative properties have tend to learn chemistry as a product so that students have difficulty understanding this topic. Guided inquiry-based learning laboratory is a learning strategy that can accommodate chemistry learning as product and process. This research aims to know the effect of practice learning strategy based on guided inquiry to the instructional result of year 12 of science of MA Ma’arif 7 Lamongan on the topic of colligative properties of solution. The instructional result is the score from a report of practice result and written test. The subject of this research is 34 students of 12-E IPA class of MA Ma’arif 7 Lamongan in the academic year 2015-2016. The research design that used is the one group pretest-posttest. The research instruments used written test and observation checklist. The written test measured the result of validated instrcution before it is used and has reliability 0,802. The obtained data then was analysed with a descriptive analysis and different test. The different test used t-paired test. Paired t-test results obtained sig 0,000 which is smaller than 0.05 so H0 is rejected by 95% reliability. Based on these results it can be concluded that there was significant improvement of learning outcomes using laboratory procedures of colligative properties. The average value of student learning outcomes was increased from 61.05 into 81.44. This increase showed that the practice learning based on guided inquiry had a good level of effectiveness.Abstrak: Proses pembelajaran materi sifat koligatif cenderung hanya mempelajari kimia sebagai produk sehingga siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami topik ini. Pembelajaran praktikum berbasis inkuiri terbimbing merupakan strategi pembelajaran yang dapat mengakomodasi pembelajaran kimia sebagai produk dan proses. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi pembelajaran praktikum berbasis inkuiri terbimbing terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XII IPA Madrasah Aliyah Ma’arif 7 Lamongan pada materi sifat koligatif larutan. Hasil belajar berupa nilai yang berasal laporan hasil praktikum dan tes tulis. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 34 siswa kelas XII-E IPA Madrasah Aliyah Ma’arif 7 Lamongan tahun pelajaran 2015-2016. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah the one group pretest-posttest. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes tulis dan lembar observasi. Tes tulis untuk mengukur hasil belajar divalidasi sebelum digunakan dan memiliki reliabilitas 0,802. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif dan uji beda. Uji beda menggunakan uji t-paired. Hasil uji-t berpasangan diperoleh sig 0,000 yang berarti lebih kecil dari 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak dengan reliabilitas 95%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar yang signifikan pada pembelajaran praktikum dengan menggunakan prosedur praktikum sifat koligatif larutan. Nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa meningkat dari 61,05 menjadi 81,44. Peningkatan ini menunjukkan pembelajaran praktikum berbasis inkuiri terbimbing memiliki tingkat efektivitas yang baik.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to compare the students’ learning outcome and science process skill that learned by two different methods viewed from prior knowledge. This study used the quasi-experimental design. The research‘s instruments were student‘s learning outcome and science process skill test. Data were analyzed using by MANOVA. The results showed that: (1) there was differences in student‘s learning outcome and science process skill that learned with guided inquiry based laboratory activities and verification based laboratory; (2)  there was no interaction between learning methods in laboratory activity and prior knowledge on student‘s learning outcome. Thus, the guided inquiry strategy has enhanced student’s learning outcome and science process skill.Key Words: guided inquiry, laboratory activity, prior knowledgeAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar dan keterampilan proses sains siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan dua metode berbeda ditinjau dari pengetahuan awal. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian eksperimen semu. Instrumen pengukuran yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan MANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) ada perbedaan hasil belajar dan keterampilan proses sains siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan praktikum inkuiri terbimbing dan praktikum verifikasi, (2) tidak terdapat interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran dalam kegiatan praktikum dan pengetahuan awal terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Simpulannya adalah praktikum inkuiri terbimbing dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keterampilan proses sains siswa.Kata kunci: inkuiri terbimbing, kegiatan praktikum, pengetahuan awal

Abstract

Abstract: This research focuses on applying the project-based learning model in teaching chemistry by using local wisdom in the ternate area. This study is to examine differences in science process skills of students who are taught with project-based learning models and students who are taught with conventional models on colloidal material in terms of achievement motivation, using quasi-experimental design designs (posttest only group). The sample in this study was conducted in one of the MAN in Ternate City. The results of the study show that there are significant differences in science process skills and student achievement motivation using project-based learning in the experimental class and conventional learning in the control class.Abstrak: Penelitian ini berfokus pada penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek dalam pengajaran kimia dengan menggunakan kearifan lokal di daerah ternate dan menguji perbedaan keterampilan proses sains siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran project based learning dan siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model konvensional pada materi koloid yang ditinjau dari motivasi berprestasi, dengan menggunakan desain rancangan eksperimental semu (posttest only grup). Sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu  MAN di Kota Ternate. Abstract

Abstract: The aims of this study to examine effect of the learning cycle 5E model assisted by e-scaffolding on the conceptual in learning the reaction rate of students with different achievement motivations. The application of the learning model learning cycle 5E assisted by e-scaffolding is used to teach students to be able to obtain, construct and develop information from the engagement phase to the phase elaboration with the help of articles and learning videos featuring macroscopic, sigmoidoscopic, and symbolic visualizations. The study used a quasi-experimental pretest post-test control group design. The research sample was taken by using cluster random sampling technique. Data analysis using method Two Way Anova and t-test gain score. The results showed there are differences in understanding of the concepts significant and there are differences in the level of understanding of the concepts students with different achievement motivation that learned using the model Learning Cycle 5E-assisted e-scaffolding and learning model Learning Cycle 5E at the material's reaction rate. However, in this study, there was no interaction between student achievement motivation with the learning model toward students' concept understanding indicate that the learning model can be applied to various conditions of achievement motivation.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh model pembelajaran learning cycle 5E berbantuan e-scaffolding pada materi laju reaksi terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa dengan motivasi berprestasi berbeda. Penerapan model pembelajaran learning cycle 5E berbantuan e-scaffolding digunakan untuk membelajarkan siswa agar dapat memperoleh, mengonstruk dan mengembangkan informasi dari fase engagement hingga fase elaboration dengan bantuan artikel dan video pembelajaran yang menampilkan visualisasi makroskopik, submikorskopik, dan simbolik. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan quasi experimental pretest posttest control group design. Pengambilan sampel penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Analisis data menggunakan metode Two Way Anova dan t-test gain score. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep yang signifikan serta ada perbedaan tingkat pemahaman konsep dengan berbagai tingkat motivasi berprestasi yang dibelajarkan menggunakan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E berbantuan e-scaffolding dan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E pada materi laju reaksi. Pada penelitian ini tidak ditemukan adanya interaksi antara motivasi berprestasi siswa dengan model pembelajaran terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi laju reaksi yang mengindikasikan bahwa model pembelajaran tersebut dapat diterapkan pada berbagai kondisi motivasi berprestasi.
